- Welcome to today's video, this time you saw the repair of a bouncer for the smallest children.
Reflectors have come to the fore again, when used for our smallest children who are not fit to ride pedal bicycles.
Such a first preparation for riding a bicycle is the mentioned bouncer, which is propelled by feet bouncing on the ground.
In a short time, the child learns to keep his balance, turn and correctly estimate the distance.
Maybe one of you is now asking yourself the question, when did such a bouncer come into being?! If you think early 19th century, you're right.
The first fast-footed machine called a laufmaschine was demonstrated in 1817 by the Bavarian baron and forester Karl Von Drais, who was considered the forerunner of the bicycle.
He took his first recorded ride, which he called a laufmaschine, in June 1817 in Mannheim, Germany.
Draisins were produced in a short period of time. One of the manufacturers was the English inventor Denis Johnson, who produced the so-called Dandy horse in London.
These bouncers had an elegantly curved frame, which allowed the use of larger wheels.
Even this means of transport had certain disadvantages, the bumpers were wooden, unsprung and often collided with pedestrians, and it also did not have an adjustable seat.
These draisins had to be tailored to their rider so that he could comfortably bounce his feet off the ground.
It was interesting that no manufacturer took over the invention of the adjustable saddle, which the French inventor came up with in 1818, who then applied it to his draisine, which he called the velocipede.

Yes exactly. Our children don't rush into their children yet, even though the older one has it for 26 years 🤷. So the toy stayed with a friend's granddaughter (the child in the video :) )

This wooden toy takes me back to my Mother was very little. Her father took some old scrap lumber and built my Mother a rocking horse rhat she could sit on and rock. It sat low to the ground he made a string tale and some leather reigns out of scrap. As she got older the string til gave way to a wooden one took some old brown paint and fixed it up for her. I stiil have the pieces somewhere in storage. Mom ia long tone now but i can still remember her telling us the story that was told by my grandma. Memoeies and toys that were made to last way back when. I always Love ❤️ howyou always find the coolest items to restore. This looks fabulous. Thank you for bringing back memories. Opět nádherná práce. Marně se pokouším vzpomenout jestli jsem viděl nějaké tvoje video které by mě nezaujalo a nebylo super. Myslím že nejsem sám kdo se po dokoukání videa už moc těší na další. Máš opravdu talent a cit na tuto práci. Přeji mnoho zajímavých zakázek a spokojených zákazníků i diváků.

Dřevěný odrážedlo vidím prvně v životě - zatím co jsem potkal, byly z plastu nebo kovu, případně jejich kombinace. Hezky udělaná restaurace, Radku, bohužel hodně negativně ovlivněná výberem laku původním autorem, kterej to vyrobil. Dobře vybral i materiál - bukovou spárovku, co ale nevychytal, byla povrchová úprava - nejspíš použil vodou ředitelnou variantu laku, asi pod falešným dojmem ekologičnosti a vhodnosti pro dětský použití. Následný zapomenutí někde na zahradě a tím i vystavení odrážedla povětrnosti dokonalo zkázu - lak popraskal, dřevo navlhlo, při vysychání se pak různě posmršťovalo a vznikly nehezký praskliny. Bez výraznýho tmelení nebo náhrady celejch dílců by dokonalá renovace nebyla možná - udělals co bylo v lidskejch možnostech. Pro povrchovku bych ale volil byť pomalu zasychající, ale určitě mnohem odolnější lodní lak - výrazně líp odolává vodě i UV záření.

FYI: a slang term for the old velocipede was "boneshaker" . As it had wooden wheels and no springs, one felt every bump and pothole, shaking or jarring one's bones.

I ave been a subscriber to your channel for at least 5 years and have generally enjoyed them along with the information at the end of the videos as well as the testing. I have to be very honest. I didn't like this "repair". You used clear resin instead of wood and it left all the marks showing from the splits and cracks due to the wear and age. I watch some of the best master carpenters and restorers of wood items and IF they use a clear resin in place of the wood because of the size of the issue they are dealing with they ALWAYS use sawdust/very fine wood shavings saved from having sanded a piece previously. They mix the resin and then add the shavings into it so that it makes a cohesive repair and adds stability and structure as well.

An acquaintance knew that we refurbish old things, so he brought it to us years ago.

9:06 zkoušel jste zaslepit ty praskliny ve dřevě zaplnit disperzním lepidlem smíchaným s pilinami? Jinak moc hezká obnova a historické okénko Veroniky. Díky moc Pavel 🇨🇿
Myslím si Pavle, že tato hračka je novodobá, proto ty imbusové šrouby. Byla ponechána zřejmě dlouhou dobu venku a dost se rozklížila. Praskliny jsem úmyslně chtěl vyplnit pryskyřicí poněvadž krásně zateče do spár. Hezký den Radek
Dobrý den. Lámu si hlavu, jak staré tohle odrážedlo je. Odhaduji někde 50. léta minulého století, protože to nebylo barveno, ale nesedí mi k tomu HEX šrouby a vruty s křížovou drážkou. Tak mladé to určitě není. Asi to někdo už předělával a nedal to do původního stavu. Mám pravdu? Děkuji.
Nejsem si jistý Zdeňku, ale myslím si, že bude o dost mladší, jen nebylo řádně uschováno. Ale na druhou stránku imbusové šrouby se začali používat v ČR teprve v roce 2003, tak těžko říct ?!

Convenience killed quality. Though let's not idolize the past too much, half of these high quality wooden toys would've been painted with lead
