Surge rocks, their distortion is great. You definitely make VCV worthwhile. At first I got lost with all the modules. I usually use HW but being able to integrate VCV with my modular makes it more useful and keeps the banker happy.
For anyone looking on this one, try using the filter mode in 18dB, which is what the TB-303 filter was in. It should make it just a little closer. Happy patching :)
Great video again. Fell in love with the surge xt modules right after the got available. Like the fluencerator I never used before. Would be nice to have a seed input on it to be used on generate to allow for deterministic random sequences. Maybe OrangeLine DEJAVU can do the same in more controlled way by sequencing seeds and adding variation using MORPH.

With the revival of acid lines in everything from house, electro and jungle there has been a load of 303 acid tutorials but so many of them are based on presets or imitation hardware, this is the first one that really breaks down that 303 sound and how to freak it nicely. Thank you 🙏🏻

Anyone know if it's possible to roll back to an older release with specific VCV Rack modules? A libc.so6 Linux dependency I couldn't figure out a way to resolve on my laptop has the latest releases of SurgeXT non-functional on my system. There was some window where whatever came out in Dec '22 worked though. (I think it supported some pre v.19 part of that library? That was then dropped later on.) It's a little frustrating getting that taste, and then not being able to do anything with that specific set of unique features. To be honest I wish VCV had a dependency check before pushing updates that could break things, because knowing you may run into unresolved bugs (just have a disclaimer about further support) is better than nothing at all.

@pauljs75 linux binaries are hard but the vcv rack library version should be compatible very far back. If it isn't though the code is super easy to build if you have a rack SDK and compiler and cmake. I'm not sure what changed with the rack SDK in the interim though. But linux binaries are hard!

how did you change the color of the cable while dragging it? :D
use the module cable color key from inklen (or wm-101 from submarine) and hit a numberkey.

can you recreate somehow Avalon Bassline, some modern 303 clone? oscilator + sub ocs => filter(cutof reso tracking) + filter envelope (env mod env decay acc decay accent) + amplifier (vca decay) + modulation envelope (attack decay vcf depth vca depth)
