Just spent 6k for annihilus and I cannot be happier with how fun he is
Arguably the best card in the game def a good use of tokens
I am 2k tokens away from getting him 😢that will be like 2 seasons away since I only do the token weekend missions once every 4 weeks. I hope he is still fun at that time.
Recommend testing him out with Hood, Pix+3M and Sentry+LDS
I got him in the spotlight he was released in and I've been playing junk ever since

I really feel for Alex, his story at the beginning is why I stopped participating in TCG's. They have gotten too expensive and time consuming for me, I have a family and a house using up my time and money now. When Snap came out, it really helped fill that hole in my soul. I can still have a TCG that i can play on the toilet and it has saved me $1000+ a year trying to keep up with a TCG.
I do miss going to in person tourneys. I recently had a friend build me a deck for One Piece TCG, I dont even care about One Piece, it was just nice to play with physical cards again
The collector's side has increased the price for TCG players. It also brings interest to the product though, so it's a catch 22
I used to spend like 700$ a month on magic the gathering. Lucky my addiction was broken by the pandemic. Haven't spent a dime on magic cards in years and I am quite fine with that.

I am an MtG player and listening to your rant about lorecana was hilarious to me. The "trading" part of a TCG acronym is actually quite important for most physical card games. Getting booster boxes is you getting random cards from a single set and getting like 1-2 copies of some of them, when for a deck you need 4x copies of cards from multiple different sets

Yeah I used to crack a box of every set, but I would still end up buying a bunch of singles and the value of buying the singles was so much greater. I won the lottery on a couple boxes but mostly it is an immediate loss as soon as you crack it.
Alex, as a fellow Canadian, I now disown you for choosing that crap over maple syrup. How dare you
We should banish him to northern Quebec, forced labor on a maple farm would be a fitting sentence.
What I require and will happily and eagerly pay for, is a monthly or bimonthly bonus podcast where you two just drink and talk about literally anything. The syrup and eggs conversation was the icing on this cake.
I really do enjoy listening to these guys talk about life. I’ve been listening to the pod since last summer and always look forward to listening on my drive to work. I wouldn’t mind supporting them if they did a monthly

Side note, I regret not going to a lorcana tournament and hearing you talk positively of it gave me more fomo but also made me happy to hear. Thank you for being a positive entity in my week via streams and videos.
As a dedicated Lorcana player, $300 for a box of First Chapter is not super uncommon. Most commonly it’s $125-$130 for booster boxes of sets 2 & 3, but First Chapter is just so much more coveted and therefore costs more.
Another fun location for White Widow is Luke's Bar too
Daaamn didn’t even think of that. Basically insta win that location on turn 2 50% of the time
Just played someone with Luke's Bar and put 2 Widow's Kiss there. Such an easy location win.
That breakfast conversation was appalling. Fake syrup over real? I'm shook. The sky looks a little grayer today. The air is a little colder. The grass is a little less green.
White Widow is fun, versatile and strong. Had a super fun run to infinite with her in an Annihilus junk deck. Love it. And yes definitely played her on T6 a bunch. And Altar of Death, Death's Domain, Kyln, Bar Sinister, TVA, Space Throne, negative power locations, etc. Even stuff like Nexus, Flooding with Storm. Lots of good locations for her.
Just saying this to add the volume of comments in hopes it comes true: please more content of you two just talking about anything. Your banter reminds me so much of my friends and I debating goofy things like chip flavors and getting super heated about it. Cozy and Alex podcast=best podcast.

Alex I’ve had a similar experience playing Lorcana recently (although American prices are slightly more kind to me than Canadian). It’s so nice to be able to have the personal experience of an opponent you can shake hands and banter with. It’s changed my ways and really helped with my mental well-being and enjoyment of life
Oh wow. No wonder I love alex so much 😂😂😂 I'm 34 and until 2 months ago I too didn't know egg talk hahaha. Go easy of him cozy 😅😅
You know what, as a Canadian (Torontonian) myself...I 100% agree with Alex about the pancakes and syrup. I actually find maple syrup too sweet and Aunt Jemima hits the spot juuuuuust right.

Ohh man I miss the days of playing MtG in the back of the comicbook shop after it closed. The owner let us use the big table if we cleaned up proper. The all-nighters we pulled were so awesome. Going home with the morning sun coming up. Good times.

Excited to hear you try out Lorcana, Alex! Such a fun game! Recommend buying singles as well but buy a couple booster boxes for new sets or if they’re msrp. Never go above that. First chapter, everyone was over hyped for because of an expensive card in there.
Otherwise buying booster boxes for new sets at least nets you a chance at a Enchanted with a bunch of other cards.

Alex learned the difference between table top card games and ccg. Always buy singles, boxes can get you alot of value to build a collection, but more often than not your opening boxes to chase a rare.
Personally I feel like Marvel Snap is in a great place for low spending.
Closest comparison i can offer for ironlad is that he is like Absorbing Man and Jubilee had a baby. But even then he is better than both in most situations. I honestly got Tribunal played a few games over a couple days and lost interest. Maybe i should give him another shot.
What hurts so much about these must have card is that they are all S4 & S5. Which means it might be another 6 months before we see them again if you missed them recently.
They rotate in the shop tho‘. If you buy the token tuesdays for gold, get lucky with some chests at the upgrade collection tree you can handle to get the cards you need.
I spend gold on buying daily missions :'( is it wrong way of spending gold?
@@BrightQuranAcademy-fg8pwit’s a good way to progress your Collection Level, so if you don’t have all of Series 3 it’s a good way to progress. Otherwise if you’re near the end/have all of Series 3, then Token Tuesdays are the way to go
@@BrightQuranAcademy-fg8pw I only spend gold on variants or avatars. Do you not care about cosmetics at all?... If you're solely focused on trying to acquire new cards as quickly as possible, then token Tuesday is probably a better use of gold. Buying daily missions is kind of negligible in the long term progression of your collection level. It's going to take you around 6-8 months to complete series 3, so shaving at best a week off of that by spending all your gold on daily missions is kind of a waste of the resource imo. You kind of just have to accept that it takes a while to acquire most of the cards. For reference, I've been playing 10 months, only spend money on season passes and gold (for variants)and am only missing 13 cards in series 4/5
The whole point of the list was to tell you what cards to try and get. Series 3 and below you get them just for playing the game.

I also grew up on Aunt Jemima and was really confused when I tried real maple syrup and it was watery af. I'm back to Aunt Jemima (now Pearl Milling Company) and haven't looked back

35:11 Plain Pancakes, you also can make breakfast sandwiches with with breakfast sausage and cheese. That rocks. Also even Hamburger works. The only good waffle is waffle fries :p
My favorite combo right now is titania+white widow on a lane with 2 cards or about to be two. Completely blocks the lane and just needs a 1-drop to win the ww lane
I used to do that with Green Goblin. I love Titania for Junk decks. White Widow definitely makes that combo better.
I bought annihulus with my hard earned tokens and was quite satisfied. Then hope summers appeared in the token vault 😢

But I'll tell you I'm quite happy where I am now and only interested in certain archetypes but I am telling you now Phoenix Force is the next card I'm on the hunt for and I am telling you if I get that card I'd feel complete. Looks like such a fun and strong deck to play

Mailbag question: with the introduction of the new emotes/avatars shop, do you think the variant shop is due a rework? With so many variants in the game now it is becoming basically impossible to actually find the ones you want, especially with 'Dev Picks', 'Popular' and album variants cluttering everything up. Do you think it's possible that Second Dinner could drop the variant refresh timer to 8hr like the new shop?

I think what destroys thanos for me is it starts on the very left of your hand every time. Guess what card destroys the left most card in your hand? Spiderham lol he always gets hammed. Then making the time stone worthless since it only affects thanos, and not a pig

If Thanos was to become a Exodia type of deck, what do you think a good/fair reward would be. Thanos decks aren’t played for thanos, and it’s sad. I was thinking thematically destroy half the cards in the game (in play, in hand, and in deck) for both players at random. Would that be to strong, or to weak even.

I like Snap a lot, but I mostly play it when I don't have anything else to do. I get together with a group once a week for board games, card games, table top wargames; generally speaking, I prefer to play games with people in person if I have the opportunity.
A Star Wars version of snap would be awesome. Locations could be planets and space stations. You could have hero’s and villains as main cards with minions and spacecrafts powering up the hero’s and villains
Annihilis mirrors are literally reverse snap.
Man I really wanted White Widow... not enough keys. Gambled and lost. Gonna have to wait until I get the tokens. I always loved Junk decks the most and SD kinda gutted that archetype by raising the cost of too many essential cards. White Widow will help fill that out more. Until then, Phoenix Force is my go-to. Absolute fun. I have also been trying to revive Leader in a deck, its been hit or miss.
