  • In this video I am painting a rescue dog called Harley using acrylic. Not sure what breeds she has in her but she was likely a street dog prior to her rescue. I have painted a number of portraits for her owners previously (This is the 5th I think) and she was their newest. I'm using acrylics on fabriano artistico HP 300lb and it is A4 size but squared off a little to fit Harley's profile better. Whilst the timelapse plays, I also talk about a few things such as the process of the painting and also a few other subjects like recent visits to a school to help children learn how to draw. I have more info about this at my substack which is linked just below. You can also see some charcoal studies of humans and bits of humans in my posts there. If you would like to see me do a video on that kind of thing, please say so in the comments.
Thank you for watching and for any support you can give so that I can improve this channel and my content.

stunning, as usual!!!! thanks for another great video!!! i read your substack. i actually got teary eyed when you talked about the little girl getting upset & how you were able to help her not only understand, but do some of the best work in the class. you may not know it, but you are naturally gifted as a teacher as well as being a tremendously gifted artist.
i wish i had money. i would have you paint a horse i once owned. she was the most incredible teacher - about riding and even about life! i would never call here beautiful (to the eye) - i think she was more handsome, lol. but she had a beautiful soul as a teacher. i can't wait to see the cat videos!!!!

Beautiful painting!❤ I’m wondering why you choose paper to paint on rather than a board or canvas. I know it would be a lovely smooth surface, so no need for gesso and sanding. I guess you can frame it like a watercolour, without the need for glass?

I never liked the texture of canvas and like a smooth surface. They do tend to be framed and go behind glass. I always much prefer the look of them mounted (Matted) than just in a frame too.
