As a minimalist this room with all this stuff kind of freaks me out. But as an artist and art lover on the other hand I WANT TO LIVE IN THERE
AHHHH WOWOWOWOW firstly you are so organized and you put my art supplies to shame. Love all the little Tardis' here and there! Ink is one of my favorite mediums too! Love the desk setup. I have been wanting to get a new desk (mine is tiny and useless for any big projects) and I'd been looking at ikea ones too with the legs but I dont have an ikea near me and they charge like $300 shipping?!?!?! GRRRRRR
If you have an Ikea you can make a day trip to (like 2-4 hours away) it's probably worth it if you're looking for a new big affordable desk and dont want to pay shipping! I would highly recommend looking at the countertops - The small ones are about 6 or 7ft, they're quite deep, they've got loads of different color/style options, and they're obviously going to be easy to clean, and they're $60! However it may take some DIYing if you need to actual secure the legs to the top, my countertop just rests on the trundle legs because they're trundles, but if you wanted straight legs or something you might have to do some drilling, but still.
I definitely need to do this! I think my nearest one is like 6 hours away?? NEED TO GO. That is ridiculously cheap! I love the idea of the trundle or trestle legs, so I need to look into it

You could in theory Diy a desk using two filing cabinets and a large board from Rona or any other hardware store than you can get any type of dimensions you would like.
I think you are the queen of organization. I love how excited you get over your cute containers and jars. :) Also, I didn't know you sew! That's so cool! I love how you decorated your studio! And I'm so happy you have a room solely dedicated to your art now.

I'm very jealous. All I have for a workspace is a tiny desk in my bedroom that barely fits my sketchbook 😅 you are one lucky human.
i have been begging my mom to have an art room after seeing this video because it is so beautiful and #goals in my life. my mom said i could move downstairs and have my room on one side and my art workstation room on the other!😍i am so excited thanks to you!

I freaked out for a moment :) I love your art room and ever since I discovered your channel I've become more developed with my artwork and have been trying to build my collection of art supplies. Hubby said we never use our dining room so it is now a studio 😁. I love the old soda bottle holder for pens and such, may look at my local yard sale for one.

pretty tight studio. I like the coke bottle marker holder. I've been wanting to pick up a mail sorter for different papers but they are pricey. I live I'm the hood so I try to look for meat things to use for keeping supplies. I got a lot of nice ideas from you including the kitchen knife magnet for sharps. thanks for sharring

It really looks professional imo. Did you film it with your art camera? (Canon t5 right?) Just wondering since I'm pretty sure we have the same camera.
Jennifer Charlee Art yes I did! canon t5! I used a tripod to help with the shots. I first would film the overall shot of the area with the camera stationary on the tripod and talk through it. then I went through and filmed the detail shots after, trying to keep a steady hand. (I was planning on smoothing it out more in premiere pro but I ended up not having time/having computer issues.) I braced my hand/elbow on furniture and used my tripod whenever possible! I had over 250 clips by the end!

wow i am in awe of people whose workstation is emaculate.. even if I post a picture of my work area it's stained with paint, and full of things I'm working on..it's neat but it looks like it's been used alot.. this looks like a craft room. that is just admired and a show off ..

Hey! don't know if you saw that vlog but Baylee said they told her at clamourcon that if preople don't get your videos the easiest way to fix it is for them to unsub and resub and it usually fixes the problem, maybe you should add a clip at the end of a vid to tell people to do that, or send it out on twitter? The art room looks great! to store my inks and keep them underhand I got a spice shelf, the bottles fit perfectly and look super pretty that way

I love your book collection, any recommendations for a beginning artist? For now I'm focusing on sketching and getting the basics right but I've already experimented with watercolor and acrylic paints and loved it so I want to keep trying new things.

Oh god i wish I had such a nice Art room...
Hanbanstuff it took a lot of time! I built it up little by little and piece by piece! the best advice I can give is
- carve out a space. my previous workspace was in a tiny corner, check out that video if you have a small space to work with!
- have a vision! I wasted so much money/time/effort because I didn't know what I wanted my art room to look like and I had unrealistic expectations. while it's not perfect I'm much happier with it now than I was when I had black heavy furniture! a Pinterest board really helps!
- shop deals & build up slowly. start with a desk, chair, and some basic storage. shop thrift stores, flea markets, Craigslist for cheap furniture. check out the dollar store for cheap storage! use paint and DIY stuff to be what you want! and just build it up little by little, adding and replacing things as you go, all the while with your vision in mind!
