- Acapella interpretation of a counting poem originally written by Patrick Rothfuss in the book "The Wise Man's Fear."
All sound heard is either my voice, body percussion or chopsticks :P and a little bit of rain... - Zábava
Amazing job! That's Bast. I don't mean you found a guy who played the character exactly as I imagined, I mean you literally filmed Bast. The voices, the production, the scene visualized... 5 outta 5. Would totally recommend
That means so much to me thank you!
I love this so much, if Patrick rothfuss ever sorts his shit out, comes out with the last book and decides to make a live action this is legit it 10/10 so much love for this
Thanks so much, Cassie!
Sadly doing a live action before the ending per usual for this type of amazing story
Years later, and I still love this.
Can't stop coming back here! Loooove this song it is my life ❤️
I added this to a playlist for when I run dry on ideas for the fantasy novel I'm working on. I cannot hope to be the wordsmith Pat Rothfuss is, but you've captured the mystery and emotional content of the scene this goes with that it sets my imagination on fire and soon I'm writing again. Thank you for becoming part of my toolbox!
I'm honoured, I hope the writing is going well!
This is absolutely perfect and you should be crazy proud holy heck
I really appreciate the support :) thanks so much, David!
This is amazing!!
I love this so much it is exactly how I pictured Bast, your voice is incredible and it weaves a witchy magic that is just so fitting, I hope if this ever does get made into a film or series or something then this song is in it
Wow Cassie, thank you so much for your kind words! "Weaves a witchy magic" - I love that! :D
This is insanely perfect to how I imagined this scene! Absolutely brilliant I love this so much, thank you so much for sharing!
So cool🙌🙌🙌
OMG this is too amazing for words!!!
Wow. . . This gave me the chills! Amazing job!
I miss repeat button. I had to made a playlist with only this song to listen to it all over and over again, but I just can't stop.
Rightclick the video, choose "repeat" from the drop-down menu. You're welcome.
Very well done! I was able to immediately catch which scene is depicted.
That's what I was hoping for, thanks Peter!
The question is, could anyone possibly appreciate this *without* first having read the books? Probably not, but that's their loss. For those of us who know... **chills**
(Much like how the author explains, so emphatically, that "The Slow Regard of Silent Things" won't be for everybody. Maybe not, but for everyone else, their loss.)
You're amazing. Please, make more music with film! It may be from this book or not, but make more. I totally love it.
This is sooo cool! I'm a huge fan of the books and this is more or less exacly how I imagined this scene play out! Great job!!
Thank you so much, I'm so glad this is how you imagined it :)
Almost as good as when I watched it in my head
amazing!
now please keep it up with the books
I consider myself kind of a critical person...and wow. This. Is. Amazing. If there's ever a campaign to feature this in the eventual movies/show, I will 100% support you!
Hahaha, you're awesome thank you!
This has such vibes.
This is why people are afraid of the woods on a moonless night.
That's not nearly how I imagined Bast, but it's awesome
Hey! Don't be pannic, but I think Pat saw this video.
Where did he say that?
wow this is so good!!
This is Amazing!!!
This is brilliant well done :D
This is mad good
That's so f* awesome!
Beginning beat makes me think of Basts goat feet hitting a path and hes clicking rocks on his way
I love that :)
I love bast and this song as well, grateful for fellow fans and their artistic talents
This is really good!
Also: This is such a wonderful Bast! I am a big fan.
I still really love this video.
"It is not easy to kill two men."
I keep coming back to your video, every time I feel like watching something kingkiller related. While it annoys me that the last line, "misbehave", is missing, even though there is room enough for it, I love everything else. It sounds playful, like a version of enie-menie-manie-mo, which it is supposed to be, but somehow more serious, sine it's Bast singing it on a more grown-up occasion. You captured the feel of the song more so that so many others out there. You're not afraid of keeping it simple and it turns out that simple is the way to go. Could you please do your take on the Chandrian song? I'm sure it will be a hit.
Thank you so much Kate! That truly means a lot to me. Yes! I kept listening to "eeny meeny" and even "Ring Around the Roses" as I wrote the music to try and keep that idea, yet I hoped to give it a darker spin seeing as this interpretation was through Bast's perspective. It is so fantastic to me that this came across for you. The last word (misbehave) is whispered at the end of the song, if you listen to it with headphones this might help you pick it up? I leave "misbehave" out of every verse leading up to the final because that is what Rothfuss did in the book, for dramatic effect. As a reader you do not know the final word until the very end. Thank you again, for your lovely comment :)
@@TheJhayebird Chandrian, please please? All versions on yt are way too cultivated for a children's counting song
The "misbahave" is slipped in right at 3 min mark
It's there, it's just held back until the very end. As is only proper. He doesn't say it until he has the firebrand pointed directly at the unlucky winner.
It's so amazing! I wanted to find more of your songs and sadly found out that there are none. Are you going to make some more music in the future?
Thank you! I have two that I’m working on from this series, one is almost finished but making the video to go with it will be a bit of a task...hopefully I can get something out soon!
*The only problem is ..* _ that have a end.._
Can we get this on Spotify?😂😅 I'd like to listen this more often ...
когда же?)
I Never understood that ending...
i think he went to kill the 2 soldiers who attacked kvothe. Bast had hired them in the hopes that that would bring the old kvothe back, but it didn't work. Remember bast is a fea he doesn't care about humans just about kvothe
@@mr.akanoou3145 That's a good point! Maybe he also couldnt stand Kvothe beeing week somehow
@@mr.akanoou3145 Exactly. Bast had hoped for them to stimulate Kote into becoming Kvothe. He knew it wouldn't necessarily work, but even if it didn't, he never meant for them to actually hurt him. They took it too far, and for that they're both already dead men who just haven't stopped breathing yet.
Much as he'd previously used the counting rhyme to choose bottles for his cocktail, now Bast is using it to decide which of them he'll kill first.
