For undergrads, I’ll say get a school accommodation for your first year.
That way, you’ll know your surroundings well especially if you’re young.

Okay that’s a good idea. She will be able to choose her friends and they could live together. Also, accessibility to classes and in-school activities is a plus if you’re on campus.

Accommodation is NOT free.
I’ve been getting the second question a lot lately. Nooooo you can’t. There is no train system here and you can’t be travelling 3 hours one trip. A lot of students are living here in Regina.
The Airbnb do they offer discounts if you are staying for like a month or week
You could negotiate with the owner sometimes.

Depends on your program. I’d say you should reach out to your department. In my program, you could defer from Sept to Jan but not Jan to September and we have just two start dates(Winter-Jan or Fall-Sept)

My friend deferred after two semesters not when he landed. All depends on your school approval and you must update on IRCC.

Hi Yemisi! Im resuming September but coming in by God's grace in August. I was told of an accommodation opposite my school in Newbruinswick for Cad690 with light, wifi, heat all inclusive, do you think its a good deal?
Also i was told to pay a deposit fee of the same rent amount of $690, to be returned at the end of rent period, is that how its done, why should a deposit be the same as the rent?
Hello.
That is how it is done. You must pay security deposit (same amount as your fee) and it’s returned in full if there’s no damages. Otherwise, they will deduct for damages and give you the remaining amount.
For the first question, I don’t know the cost of rent in that province.

It is advisable to share a room with a room mate unless you are loaded with money. It will cost you around $1,200 or more.
