- How about this for a finish at Musselburgh!?
Five horses could barely be separated when fighting out the finish in the Champagne Pommery Cuvee Louise Handicap, with Simple Star just getting the verdict on the far-rail in the navy and red silks with black cap.
Bravo to the handicapper!

Good finish but what was the jockey doing on Gibside. Gave it a mountain to climb, no wonder it rolls around under pressure. Freakout immensely brave and the cheek pieces working well for him. Good horse racing that.
When you look how slow they're going it's not difficult to see how it ended up in a bunch finish.

Why can’t horse racing not have whips? Throuhbreds have a certain speed god it’s so annoying
those whips don't hurt the horses. they are mostly for waving around the horse's head without touching it in order to incite it to run faster. Believe me, no owner wants to hurt his champion horse.

abuse. horses killed every year, most fatal sport but they have the money to cover it up.
Meanwhile, cart horses in third world countries would like to have a word with you. thos DO get hurt A LOT MORE than racehorses. A few years ago, there were news of a mare that gave birth in the middle of the road because the owners were forcing it to keep pulling the cart. Ny the way,, do you think racemares get treated that way? No, they stay in the foaling fields until the foal is weaned. They are basically stay-at-home moms with a team of servants around them.
