Oh that's cool because I saw this one for the first time a few days ago, saw the "sequel" yesterday, and was thinking of leaving a comment asking for a reaction but the reaction dropped before I even logged in 😄 Both amazing movies. I was told Bobby Simha got a National Award for his performance in the first movie. Highly deserved!

@@AriaIsara yes, 2012-2015 tamil cinema films r unique and different. It was the peak of new age indie cinema that worked big time. Jigarthanda and Soodhu kavvum were one of them (I admit they're ugly in cinematography but the content feels different & worth checking out)

This is a really good dark humor film. Sidharth(the main guy) really chooses wacky but interesting concepts XD. Another movie he was in, "Jil Jung Juk" was also a weird dark humor film. I would highly recommend it. At the time, the film was memed to death online(but in a good way). This movie especially felt like such a breath of fresh air.

I think jigarthanda double X was even better than the original Jigarthanda. It's Karthik subbaraj's love letter to cinema and one of the best movies of the year. But sadly in India it didn't get as much attention as it should have

@@gokulbalakrishnan6005 Well personally I loved it. Don't know how the critics response was or the native Tamil audiences response but I think it was a nice meta narrative that also explored themes of man and nature as well as displacement of tribal land and identity

@@darkguardian787 when it comes to box office numbers unless it's an out and out over the top action movie it doesn't do well financially in India. Even ponniyin selvan 2 was a good movie but did well only in Tamil Nadu
