She and her father/uncle (some male figure in her life) would bring snacks to the Stryker crew each time they patrolled through their village. The insurgents, taking note of this, held the girl at gunpoint and forced her to approach with an IED. You can go through all the training you like, but at the end of the day you're still human. If you don't feel something when you kill an innocent person, there is something deeply wrong with you.
