    Reverse citizens united. End corporate person hood. Keep foreign influence out of our elections.

      Corporate personhood allows you to sue a corporation. Why would you want to lose that?

      Corporations will still have free speech rights even if you remove their personhood because corporations are association of individuals and association of individuals have free speech rights

    • @scar3xcr0
      @scar3xcr0 Před 2 lety

      @@rajashashankgutta4334 The people who own and work for a corporation would have free speech rights but they wouldn't be able to say things as the company unrestricted (ie press releases about the coca cola corporation not supporting a unionization bill) or use the money of the corporation to donate to PACs and political campaigns. They could says things personally and donate to political campaigns on their own but I also said to reverse citizens united which would put caps on PAC donations. Before citizens united for over a century there were caps on political campaign donations (max $2900) and donations to groups that worked to promote certain candidates(max $5000). Citizens united allowed groups to get unlimited donations as long as they didn't coordinate with a campaign. So for example a "family values governors in Nevada PAC" could make ads promoting a republican governor candidate and make adds attacking his opponent as long as they didn't plan with the official campaign for him. They could collect unlimited funds even though they are basically just a second campaign for the candidate. It takes power out of the hands of the people and gives it to the very rich. It is completely against America's values of equality and democracy.

      @scar3xcr0 Před 2 lety

      @@TheAwesomeTolga198 You could keep a corporation as an entity that could be sued but strip it if many of the rights people themselves have such as campaign donations or unrestricted free speech.

      @@scar3xcr0 You only sue persons; whether they be legal or natural, you are suing a person. You don't see entities. You don't get to pick and choose what a legal person can do.
      It would be disgraceful to overturn Citizens United.

    " Ever since the passage of anti-trust legislation, in 1890, businessmen were in the government's potentially total power ; as a group, they offered no resistance ; instead of fighting, they paid protection money to the politicians of both parties at election time, assuming the permanent role of stealthy favor-seekers. Mista and Misz, You’re right, I am ancient, old as dirt (actually 62 years old) and retiring in a couple months. Given I live in Canada with universal health care and a pension that will keep me warm and cozy for the next 50 years I am in a good place. Had both hips replaced at the same time given my perhaps too active life style in my youth and middle age; oh the double hip surgery done at the same time did not cost me a dime given our health care. I am perhaps in the top 2% but given the benefits of our tax system, I am not myopic enough to care as it is in the best interest of the Canadian people rit large, unlike the destruction being rained down on the average American, thanks to the money in politics to keep the middle and lower income earners in desperate constant stress through a barrage of propaganda that Pravda would admire.

    • @Petethehun
      @Petethehun Před 6 lety +2

      Mista and Misz, actually my grandparents on all sides were in there late 90's and a grandmother on my dad's side at 103 . My mother died at 94 so she went young. My dad died in his early 80's only because he got diabetes in his middle 70's and given he never was sick in his life, never seemed to even catch a cold, vanity kicked in and he refused to alter his diet; so he died at 86. And as far as I’m concerned if I died even now, I have likely lived more than most. What sank in likely in my 20'2 is that I’m more than OK with death, as we are all dirt eventually.... stone cold dead, no loving paternalistic God waiting for me (or you, or anyone).
