    Vaos innocently builds a one shot moon base in KSP 2 and accidentally opens a portal to hell. Sounds like something I'd do. Lmao😂

    You're kind of wrong about the exhaust plume thing. Rocket exhaust can be highly dissociated coming out the engine bell, so there's plenty of reactions that can still occur after it's expanded through the nozzle. Depending on the rocket there will also be things like soot in the exhaust, which incandesces quite nicely when hot. The reason Falcon 9 second stage footage seems to have so faint of an exhaust plume is that the plume is usually in sunlight, and either way the camera is exposed to better see the radiant engine bell and not the plume itself.
    What cheeses me off about KSP 2 exhaust plumes is that in the vacuum regime the plume magically cuts off perfectly sharp in a cone. In real life, you do get conical flow but the further you get from the centerline the less exhaust you get. There's even a tiny amount of gas exiting forwards around the lip of the engine bell. I can excuse the absence of radial plume dropoff being a graphics limitation for them but the second thing that gets me is the way the plume expands in a vacuum. IMO, in KSP 2 the curvature is vastly exaggerated. Having the exhaust start nearly tangential with the engine bell makes it even less realistic. A better look in my opinion would be to have the exhaust immediately spread in a 50 or 55 degree angle, have faint curvature, and then feature some shader to greatly diffuse the edge.
    Of course none of this actually matters since the game is completely unplayable.

    The thing where your craft looks insane is almost certainly just floating point error. I've seen it happen several times, and when you resume time it fixes. My assumption is the game world is centered at whatever your last active object was and this doesn't update when paused for whatever reason. The further an object is from the world origin, the worse the precision of floating point errors becomes. Games with large scales, like KSP or Outer Wilds center the game world somewhere near the camera and move the world around it to avoid this issue.

    the struts bug is because the parts are flipped upside down :< you can work around it but it does suck, and if you NEED an upside down part strutted to an upright part you can always do them with no symmetry :<
    alos i got the low poly visual bug too, it was super fun, its literally just because parts of the game just dont load or run when timewarp is at 0. Seriously, you can pause the lauding screen after about 80% and it will just sit there until you hit '>'
    oh, yeah, so just hit play next time. But no guarantee a permanent mun base doesnt just fall throught the ground again :/

    Hey vaos recenty i started doing a random parts challenge in ksp...
    I dont know where i have seen this but its really fun
    This is how i do it
    You have 2 parts of your own choice once you have done that
    you chose 2 random parts from each section how you randomize is up to you (coin toss/dice/using an app) the kerbal is also random if you can include one...
    You have to include every random part in your build
    You can multiply the selected parts however the total part count cannot exceed the amount of the selected parts + your 2 choice parts
    My goal is to go as far as possible if not possible stay somewhere stable and add stuff to it by using these rules aka convert it into a random space station...
    Also since i rarely terminate vessels and craft and they get destroyed or damaged most of the time i leave space junk around and repurpose it all the time all my vessels have docking ports of some kind to be adaptable and upgradable for cases were there us no docking port i use other means.
    Parts and fuel for free...😂
    About how i play ksp
    i cant do EVAs never managed to not screw it up so i just dont try anymore
    Cant land on mun still trying i really want to figure this one out on my own...
    90% of the time i play in the kerbin system or the orbits of the moons i really dont care about the rest of the planets and moons
    Docking is something i only recently managed to do at all
    i dont know how to use engineers in ksp not interested either ...
    I never use rcs...

  • @Deltarious
    @Deltarious Před 6 měsíci +3

    Just so you know GPUs being "tied together" (SLI or Crossfire) isn't a thing anymore, at least not for mainstream gaming, has been dead mostly for nearly 10 years and fully for about 5, it was neat so I'm still a little sad about it. The 'modern solution' is to "just" slap $1500 down for a 4090, which funny enough can take up a similar amount of space to early SLI setups

    • @notme9976
      @notme9976 Před 6 měsíci

      Not much of a solution, you will still have framerate issues when getting to around ~250 parts on a craft.

    I am so curios were the game will be at the end of 2024. They fixed a lot of bucks already, but there are still a lot remaining. A lot of good KSP1 modders have been hired, so I hope that we will see a lot of there work in KSP2 soon. The UI now needs a lot of improvements, but I think that is the kind of thing early access is for. So hope that they really listen to the UI feedback and implement it. It took 9 months for them to release for science, while they are hoping that there will be less time between future roadmap items, I think it will take about the same (or more) time for the next two. I think this because colonies and interstellar will be way bigger updates then the for science update.

  • @gmhs2
    @gmhs2 Před 4 měsíci +1

    Looks like the game didn't recenter on the camera, those are some bad floating point errors lol. I'd imagine wherever the camera was previously, it still considered the "origin", and in a game with such a large scale (and likely 32 bit 'single-precision' floats), that's gonna lead some some serious graphical and gameplay issues.

    Nothing worse than getting a mission to land a 300 ton craft on Duna, only to find out any craft with ~200 parts drops framerate to unplayable on my PC (12900K and a 4090). Try to work around it by docking several smaller crafts in Duna orbit? No dice my friend...

    After buing a new PC last September i noticed that in some games i still have a shitty Framerate. I thought ok maybe the game is not good optimised. But after a googlesearch i found out that my new AMD Card has a FPS limiter enabled that i need to remove for EVERY SINGLE GAME!!! Maybe you have something similar enabled?

    • @darkethena
      @darkethena Před 6 měsíci

      He has a NVIDIA catd and he doesn't have any frame rate or optimization issues except with this game. It just has so many issues and is pretty unplayable at the moment, especially for any of the type of crafts he typically builds.

    Hopefully the devs take a look at this. The recent UI devblog centered on all the very obvious stuff like text being unreadable, but nothing about the UX being trash, the vab controls being trash, and so on. They're hellbent on making the game less accessible to salvage some "professional pride" when 3 mexicans working after hours did it better.

    $50 is not an acceptable price for a game that is in this state. $10 and the big warning that it is an alpha state game and unstable, then maybe.
