  • Some say this is the greatest supercross final ever between David Bailey and Ricky Johnson, many say it came down to fitness who won on that night but personally being a racer myself I think it came down to who wanted it the most. nothing but no holds barred, adrenalin fueled bar to bar racing.

      Yeah man, to be there on the night would have been amazing. I mean you can feel the atmosphere watching it now, the screams of the crowd the sound of the bikes but imagine being there.

      I'm sorry buddy the 70's and 80's were a great time to be a kid...I feel bad for most kids these day...you can always dream though.... 👍

    This race and the 1986 MXON are two of the greatest motocross moments of the '80's.

    I sure miss the pits on the side of the track back then. In Seattle in the late 80-90's I was lucky to get to chat with some of the pros and get Micky D's googles and some gloves from Ron L. I was sure those would make me faster in my 80 B class :-)

    ok, we can't compare the Decoster era, but we can say that Mr. David Bailey was and still is the most stylish and fast rider of the whole modern motocross era, right? and a gentleman.

      I was a KX kid round then, but DB made the shit look so easy, like it was effortless to him. He was definitely a GOAT

    • @surfingawaveoflife
      @surfingawaveoflife Před 5 měsíci

      I think DB was the smoothest, but RJ was the most stylish. DB was like an equestrian horse jumper. RJ was like a bull rider on a bucking bronco.

  • @zone47
    @zone47 Před rokem +2

    Bailey looks at the track as an engineer would probably due to his dad's smarts. RJ... great rider but sort of too cocky for me. Poor Bob, he's pretty much seen his better days...still he was fun to follow. Fun stuff, I never got enough riding when I was younger and these videos fire up the excitement again.

  • @danehauser8675
    @danehauser8675 Před 4 lety +2

    The commentator must get paid for each word as the dude couldn't even pause for a second during the main to let us enjoy the race. I guess cocaine was prevalent in the 80s so maybe he did 1 too many lines. Makes me actually appreciate Ralph and Ricky (though Daniel Blaire is better than both of them).

I'm 51 started at 7 years of age can beat u kids at arm wrestling
