- westernfolklife.org "Little Joe The Wrangler" - Don Edwards at the 24th National Cowboy Poetry Gathering; this song was a part of Don's "The Ghost of Jack Thorp" performance and recorded live January 31, 2008 on the Western Folklife Center 2008 Cybercast.
We miss you Don and the songs you sang of the old cowboys.
Thanks Don for passing old cowbow songs on.
There have been "pure country" legends like Don Williams who never compromised on the "country". But Don Edwards is a league apart. I haven't yet come across a singer quite like him. His voice will live on forever.
The days of Little Joe the wrangler were Americas greatest times.
RIP Don, we miss you.
My daddy used to sing this song to me when I was just a small boy. Dn sings every word just like daddy. Thanks and God Bless
Don is the real deal. Met him at Cowboy poetry waaaaaaay back in 1990,when it was a, small and more real and true gathering. A true gentleman.
it's amazing how many people from europe comment on this post, i'm from texas and grew up with this music, unfortunately not as many texans know this singer, glad to see it's made it across the ocean
met Don Edwards years ago. a true genuine man.
I don't get how someone could dislike this video. This man is a legend.
I love this whole cowboy culture. it seemed to be a simpler time, when everyone had values and the like. I think we all need to taste those simpler times, and we would look at life alot differently.!!
This was the very first `western` song I heard some 20 years age, sung by a Mr. Red Steagall somewhere in Kent, UK. been hooked on it ever since, even though I live in England my love of the West remains in my memories. Thnak y`all kindly.
This is pure class! The real thing, more more more Please!
Great Post! My name is Joe. My older Aunts would sing this in Grandma's kitchen. Great memories.
Don is awesome. Thanks for posting.
So great - this is the best professional version I've seen/heard, and the story before it makes it even better. Thanks for posting this; from Weed, NM.
A big thank you from accross the ocean (Belgium - Europe that is - think beer, brussels sprouts and the Battle of the Bulge) for posting this ! It's awfully hard to find CD's of this great performer, let alone videoclips and such !
