And as someone who has had zero luck with actively shiny hunting and accidentally gotten blue roses (and shiny Pokemon)... yeah, seems about right :)

@@cantthinkheadempty5846 On rare occassions it also snows near Ballarat! In grade 3 we went on a camp to Sovereign Hill and it was lightly snowing for a few days :') Even the locals seemed surprised at that though ahaha

I did not time travel. I had two friends who came and watered occasionally.

Here's a tip! I time traveled back and forth between 2 days that were always raining so I did not have to water my flowers and saved SO much time!

So I've tried doing this, but the plants just stopped breeding after the first cycle... Are you sure this works?
@@focusedfuture7612 I’ve found that when I water all my flowers on say Thursday then time travel back to Monday, my flowers have not bred on Monday. If I move forward just one day to Tuesday all the flowers I watered have now bred. It’s almost like going back in time loses a day? So if you have two rainy days I would travel back to the day right before rain, open the game, close the game, and then move to the rainy day.
Bam, flowerz.
Edit: Just tried this and it works. Time travel to the rainy day, get your flowers all shiny and let the rain water them, then go to the very next day and reap the harvest. Then go back to the rainy day, let it water the flowers, go to the very next day and harvest. Repeat.

This was really easy and useful! I don't time travel, and I didn't have friends to come and water my roses, so it took me 4 months to get my blue rose, but hey, I did it!

sit back and grab some popcorn, i have a story to tell.
once, i had an extra nmt. i went to the airport, hopped on a plane, and landed at a mystery island. a hybrid rose island, at that. i go and fill my inventory. (audie was also there. she's now besties with twiggy. they're the cutest.) anyway, filled my inventory, invited audie, time to get home. once i'm back on the island, i lay out all my flowers on an empty plot of land. i didn't particularly like the colours, so i ignored them and just let them breed, as they please. well, month and a half later, we've got a lot of purples, a lot of oranges and pinks, and there in the middle, a single blue rose.
i freak out, because i know they're really rare, and hard to get, and plant it outside of my house. moral of the story, i'm so glad i decided to use that nmt, holy cow.

Im on the same boat but...I’m debating if I should throw more away bc I’ve been planting in an x pattern since new leaf and doing the same now on new horizon and got a ton of hybrids without having to the the seed thing and all of this. I pretty much have every color of every flower except gold and blue roses! And I I even have a big patch of tulips with all the colors mixed in w no spaces left and I get random hybdrid colors from those all around still 🥰😳 wishing all of us luck 😅 edit: also planted a ton more two days ago when I posted this and literally got hybrids (purple roses) black roses the next day. I am using the golden can tho and I water my plants daily so idk if that makes a difference 😳

Been trying for about a month. I did this method while time skipping and it worked in 2.5 hours.
if timeskipping, pick a day when its raining so you dont need to water the flowers!
so say June 20th rained. Then the day after I can rewind the time to June 20th it will rain?

Friends certainly helps, otherwise I’d you’re like me and don’t have the friends or funds for daily waterings by other people it took 3 months
I managed to breed my first blue rose with the help of this video. Thank you so much, I thought I would never be able to do it.
Use the reds not the pinks from step 2, their twice as likely to get what you want from step 3.
Also I did the math a while ago and this route is actually faster than the more complicated one since you spend so many days cloning the results of each step as opposed to just mass producing special reds. I'd also recommend cloning a lot more special reds than he did.
Thank you for mentioning to use the reds. I went and did both at the same time to see which would get a blue first and just got one yesterday through the reds so thanks man. Took like 2 and half months.
Do the special reds have a different name?

I started this method yesterday at like.. 10 ish in the morning. It's currently almost 1:30 am and after spending hours playing non stop, planting at least 400 roses, and breaking so many watering cans and shovels...
I got no blue roses and all I got was a migraine and purple tulips on accident. I'll just give up on blue roses.

I love how detailed and well-researched Austin’s videos are!! I’ve watched other videos on hybrid breeding but none come as close as yours, even with the losers bracket. I’m at the stage where i just got my first two hybrid reds so I’m gonna try out (in a couple of days) the losers bracket!
I can confirm that this works. I found this method when you were talking about it in the other video. I actually went out of my way because I was really desperate and I have been trying for like ever to get a blue rose. This method is fool proof. Im pretty sure my dog could do this method and end up with a blue rose. Im currently trying to get my blue rose to duplicate itself. Hopefully it happens soon.

Etero Mashio: I found this method via a different video on another channel a week or so ago. Planted fresh rose seeds on 12 May, got my first purple from the white roses on 16 May (Day 5) and two more purples the next day. I did have a friend or two over to water in between those dates, for info, but you’re on schedule. Keep working at it. :)

Me too. Have a tonne of blues, but it's Austin. So imma watch it. I managed to get my first blue by breeding from my hybrid oranges that I got from the hybrid isle

I beat the 1.56 odds with the hybrid red with just enough numbers and some big help from some good souls that came to my island when I send a dodo code out each day.
this was probably one of the biggest head aches for me.
Crazy thing is that my first blue rose came from the Losers Losers bracket lmao, I was so shook. I only had 2 red roses in that section too.
So glad I can start with the later steps straight away, I’ve got a few pink roses and plenty of purple so I’m definitely gonna set up step 2 and 3 tomorrow! So happy to have a less confusing way to get blues!

The only method which worked for me. Started on 1st of April (in game date) and had my blue rose on the 3rd of June. Interestingly the same thing happened, I got a blue rose from the red loosers.

Awesome guide! I already was following the first steps up to the hybrid red roses that have the 1.56 percent of spawning blues and after a lot of days/hours still didn't have any blue roses. Watched this video, started planting the "losers bracket" red roses that I was throwing away before and immedialty the next in game day I spawned a blue rose from 4 red roses in the losers bracket. I'm so happy!

You can find a list/guide on it if you google "hybrid flowers animal Crossing" Roses are longest to finish colors wise.

If I wasn't so far into breeding for 25% hybrid reds, then I would try this. I can't imagine doing this without time traveling.
That's why I'm gonna give away my hybrid reds once I have some blue roses.

@@juanpaulobanares6699 that sounds about right considering that even 1 more player watering your flowers gives you 5x better chances of getting a hybrid/clone. sadly I don't have any friends that play ACNH.
In 1 hour I got a 25% hybrid red (granted I did time skip a week)
This worked for me :) Just got a blue rose yesterday! And my special red patch wasn't even big, only 14 special reds. It bred a couple of losers' bracket oranges and reds, and finally a blue. Thank you!
so I just bought 50 seeds of each color and will try to do this method

When I was 23 years old, I flew down to my friends' houses in Tasmania, Australia. It was crazy to me that on 4th of July, it was snowing and I was wearing a coat and scarf. I did a red+yellow= orange + whites = reds to get my blue rose. It was nowhere near as sophisticated, it just popped up on the day that I was farming for rare colors. Purple pansy seems to be harder than a blue rose for me.
