    I JUST bought the Lark M2 yesterday after watching the review you did on it about a month ago. The price difference between this Godox system and the Lark (plus the nifty touchscreen) *almost* had me reconsidering my purchase, but after hearing your samples, I prefer the sound of the Lark. It sounds just a bit "fuller" to me.
    PS: You've now influenced two of my purchases in the span of about five weeks. I hope you're pleased with yourself.

      Same as You on me: After looking the review I really prefer the Hollyland Lark M2 over the outer mics. First, the Lark II Mike are almost invisible. Second is the sound that is clearly better. And when it comes to the noise reduction mode the Lark M2 clearly outperforms the outer two by a large margin.

    I've used the first DJI mic to set up a wireless audio system and for redundancy. I'll plug my Tascan X8 into the sound board and connect the DJI mic through a aux cord to the audio out on the X8. The Tascan records the audio, which the DJI is also recording (internally). That same DJI sends an audio signal to my receiver, which is plugged into my camera. I do that set up all the time and have done it with my audio recorder on the other side of the room. No cords to worry about anyone tripping over them. That's the benefit of the DJI mics having a 3.5mm jack and internal recording.

    Got my XT1's a couple weeks ago...after I had decided I was done buying this type of mic because maybe six different sets are enough for a solo content creator ;). I love the Godox. Love it. I did give up backup recording in order to make it my go-to kit (as long as sound isn't critical), but I just love them so much. They look good, sound good, are super versatile. I don't really feel the need to look at any more after these. Just my two pennies and a ball of lint. Thanks for the review, and what you do.

  • @PenguinjitsuX
    @PenguinjitsuX Před 19 dny +2

    My personal opinion of the 3 sound tests
    - Magic XT1 sounds a little higher pitched, and slightly crackly? It feels like it doesn't capture the low end/base very well
    - DJI/Lark M2 sounded more similar. I liked the Lark M2 the best because it captured the low end of the voice really well and just sounds nicer to hear.

  • @nicksangetta8874
    @nicksangetta8874 Před 11 dny +1

    On the Lark M2s you can see on the receiver if the noise reduction button has been pressed on the transmitter. The light on the end of the receiver will either be blue or green depending on the noise reduction setting.
    And as great as the Lark M2s sound. They are incredibly unreliable. I bought a set in January and it has already crapped out. They gave me issues for months and now I cant get them to connect at all . Hollyland's customer service is absolutely atrocious too. So I bought a second set on Aug 9 and already one of the mics stopped working. I am sending them back. Just bought some DJI 2s. Fingers crossed they work.

    Hollyland > Godox > DJI
    Godox sounds more open, airy. Hollyland has better lows and is a nice balance of highs and lows. I'd probably go for Hollyland but Godox is a close second, I love that the transmitters fit in the receiver.

  • @StirfriedGerman
    @StirfriedGerman Před měsícem +10

    Wow, great comparison ! The DJI comes last in terms of sound pleasingness (is that a word?🤣) Godox close second and Hollyland first. Didn't expect this at all. Godox close second because it sounds extremely similar, probably same manufacturer, different package. DJI (and Rode) are clearly overpriced.

    For the price, the Godox is definitely worth it. I could only hear slight differences between the three brands. I think you could be happy with any of these three kits. I already own the DJI OP3, so I have the Mic 2. And the 32-bit float audio is a winner. If I didn't already own wireless audio from Rode, Comica, Hollyland (Lark 150) and DJI, I would definitely grab the Godox.

    I have the Hollyland Lark M1 mics and love them. Actually, I bought them because of your video and recommendation. It too has a 3.5mm jack. I think the whole getting smaller craze is not really necessary. I have larger fingers and hands and am sure I would lose those rare earth magnets in a heartbeat, nice that the Godox gives you spares, however. I thought all three mics sounded very good and also very similar. The Godox had slightly better noise reduction, but it also cut off some frequencies in order to get it. Any DJI product is a quality product, as this on is too, but once again, a little pricey in comparison to the other two. I would chose the Hollyland M2's in this comparison, and would purchase them if I didn't already have the M1's. The only thing I don't like about the M1's is the probability of hitting another button that may change from stereo to mono, or turn on or off the noise reduction inadvertently. I wish there was a lock feature.

    It’s very difficult to tell the difference in the sound unless you’re a complete audiophile and are highly accustomed to subtle distinctions in sound.
    The DJI mic two does have noise cancellation, so I’m not sure how you missed that and it actually works exceptionally well, and the sound quality is very good .

    I prefer the dji because of the good audio performance.
    1. The other mics are kind of producing a little trebble sound that is disturbiing where as the dji's audio is neat and bass emproved.
    2. The treble noise increases when noise reduction is activated on the two other mics too.
    3. The dji is very versatile (bluetooth) for cams and phones
    4. The dji's connections (wireless for sony cams) and (extra plug for usb-c phones) is a plus.
    5. The 32-bit float feature makes up for dji's lack of noise reduction
    DJI is the best in my opinion based on these objective points.

    It drives me up a wall that says Dji doesn't sell the USB C connector should you sit on the connector itself.
    I had to buy a receiver and one mic to replace it call dji as well and they give promises but don't deliver (we'll invoice you) silence.

    Hollyland has my vote even over the DJI. It just sounds much more natural to me and I cannot stand the bulkiness of the DJI and the Rode. However, Godox is the ultimate budget option.

  • @Mr.Flex1992
    @Mr.Flex1992 Před měsícem

    But you can buy the TX from DJI, (only one) and you can use it with Action 4 camera without a receiver. So that means 100eur only

      For a Bluetooth only mic connecting to a phone, Pocket3 or action cam yes. It’s a good option. But not to a mirrorless camera.

    for me DJI Mic 2 just blows everything out of the water. Especially that DJI made a digital hot shoe attachment, it changes everything. And the amount of features that comes with it when using blutooth or wifi is freaking insane for smartphones.
    For sure its audio quality is not as great as Rode Go ii pro or Magic XT1, but the convenience is what i love about the dji mic 2.

    Hollyland (which I have, along with the DJI Mic 2 that came with my Pocket 3, and the Rode Wireless Go ll) sounds a lot better that both the DJI Mic 2 and the Godox in all your tests. I'll stick with my Hollyland for use with my Insta360 X4 and iPhone and the Mic 2 with my OP3.

    Honestly, it competes incredibly well, seems to be a real winner for a workhorse wireless mic. I smell some chicken dinner....

    Hollyland was better in terms of sound it has all what a good sound must have bassy, mellowie and crisp where as DJI was average and godox sounded liky speaking inside a box lloks like it has a cheap electret mic sensor capsule but DJI has a 3.55 mm jack if a good lav is connected then it would be a whole new ball game but it would add up the cost so overall Hollyland is a win win situation

    DJI Mic 2는 저음역이 증폭되어있어 남성이 사용 시 약간 답답한 느낌을 줍니다.
    Godox Magic XT1는 고음역이 증폭되어있어 치찰음이나 히스 노이즈가 낀 듯 들립니다.
    HollyLand Lark M2는 크기도 작고 로고 디자인까지 예쁘며 가장 밸런스 잡힌 소리를 들려줍니다.
    XT1이 더 저렴하지만 품질을 생각하면 Lark M2를 사겠습니다.
