I enjoyed how casual this video was. Made me feel like Andre was my dad telling me how to set up a trailer properly without yelling at me every 5 minutes
The Andre videos are relaxing to watch
Facts! “Shine the light here!” Lol
Indeed, I much prefer Tommy riding shotgun over The drunk Uncle. Great video, men the Colorado performed very well. It's too bad we didn't get The Gauntlet, perhaps when she's got a couple hundred more miles of break in time.
Andre seems like a cool dude.
This is a performance. Ask his kids how it really is. lol On camera and to those not in the family things are different. 😉 When he is talking down to women and kids, it comes off differently. Different than you perceive here. He is on his best behavior after all. lol
Im so stoked for Andre having this Colorado. You can just see how excited he is to have it 😁
I think these new generation of “small” trucks will do anything 95% of truck buyers need them to do and everything in this class looks way better than any of the current full size trucks too.
Considering they grew to the size of full size trucks from 20-30 years ago along with the price they better do the job.
I own a full size Boss and Ive been debating on switching as this would meet all my needs with a huge improvement on gas mileage while not towing
@@LedZepp86 fuel economy is still awful. Maybe 1 mpg better than a full size or same as im getting with my Superduty. Shouldn't expect to compromise for fuel economy. Truck for truck things, economy car for good fuel mileage
@@vr4787 ain't that the truth!
@@cooverbennett4383 Mobility is also a huge plus for mid size trucks. I was driving a full size before I got a mid size, navigating narrow streets, finding parking, navigating narrow trails, navigating parking garages, all that is an absolute head ache with a bigger truck. Some people don't care about that, but I definitely do. I prefer smaller vehicles and I am willing to sacrifice mpg for that. Not to mention, full size prices are outrageous.
12:48 Had to scroll back as I was doing other things while listening to videos audio.
No tension or competing forces in the air .
Love this video Tommy .
Ppl don't want to view tension .
Humans just want to view content like this in peace.
My 2011 Sierra has a backup camera, so when I am hooking up my trailer, I use it to line the hitch up. My father-in-law always gets out and tries to direct me, but I ignore him and use the camera. I tell him every time I am using the camera, but he insists on guiding me, so now I just act like I am listening, lol.
We have the surround cameras, and my wife drives me crazy turning around and worrying. I tell her, “those cameras are actually showing what’s what, you can’t see what’s back there”. 🤣
Andre is bringing the dad energy with the tucked in t shirt, sunglasses on his head, and new balances.
😂 papa Andre lmao. He's the best host of TFL hands down
Waiting to see him pack the family in there. That alone is worth a video.
New Balances 😂 the Dad shoes…
@@tannerwalker2444 I also like Nathan too
I'm not a Chevy guy at all but you've got a nice truck Andre. I'd like to have one just like it. I think your MPG will only get better with more miles put on, but overall I'm highly impressed with the truck in looks & performance.
no cruise control! Thats insane!
Chevys are for women and posers.
@@freedomisnotnegotiable chip shortage fallout
Agree, but no cruise control?!? Hopefully there’s a practical way to add cruise to this truck.
@@markhavelka4924 It's only because he got a really weird combination of tech packages when he placed his order. Most of these sent to dealers will either have traditional cruise on the lower end and adaptive cruise on the higher end.
Hey andre! I helped build your truck, and i gotta admit its kinda kool seeing these things out on the road now especially from a CZcamsr i watch frequently.
The bug getting into the trailer was so satisfying
Great demonstration you both guys, certainly this Trailboss gets the job done, thanks for sharing !!
Seeing Andre’s excitement got me wanting to buy a Colorado.
Great video guys! I am truly impressed with that truck. You did good Andre!! Can't wait to see some off roading.
Keep 'em coming. Love your content.
The more I drive my Sierra with the HO 2.7 I am liking the engine and 8 speed more. I saw a increase of about 1 mpg once hit 5000 miles. I think Andre will love how smooth this engine is.
Nothing against the 2.7 but I can’t believe they put a 4 cylinder in a full size truck. How is on power? My 2017 Silverado with the 5.3 is starting to get old. Going to need to replace her someday.
@@jeffreydurham5012 Power is really good. I have a 3023 GMC with the 5.3 and the 2.7 is quicker and has more power. We tow a 9000 lb trailer with the 2.7 and it works great, better than my 5.3 except the 2.7 des not have as much engine braking on a hill.
@@jeffreydurham5012
Coming from a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Z71 5.3/6sp my 2023 Chevy Silverado Custom Trail Boss 2.7HO/8sp sand dune metallic 18” rims is night-day better. I’m so happy with my truck.
Wish I had a friend like Andre... Totally chill kinda guy. 😎👍
Andre looks cramped in that truck
Nice to see real world test with your truck and neat to see his Bug too!
Great video. Honestly, 5K lbs is probably more than most will ever tow so good to hear how it handles. Love to see how the rear camera stayed on while towing, handy feature. I know you don't have it but does the front camera function that way as well?
It does
Thank You for the trailering video guys, I’m waiting for my Z-71 to arrive. I have a large utility trailer and this makes me feel better about towing with my new Colorado.😅
@1:43 Andre: "But it has no engine."
Tommy: "But it does have cruise control."
Andre: "I'm going home now."
Andre you are just the best !!!! Great video as usual !!!😊
I like Andrey’s truck! If it had cruise it would be close to perfect! 😊 The colour is not for me, but at least it’s a “colour”!! Not grey white or black. Some brands in mid to in more base modes are frustrating, no reds or blues.
The 2.7 gets a better grumble with aftermarket exhaust upgrades. Depends on which you chose. It can sound good for a 4 cylinder truck due to the displacement.
Great video, enjoyed it! Now to read the hateful, condescending comments…
I can't believe a truck with that level of trim and options didn't come standard with cruise control. I personally would have denied it with out cruise. But great video! I just purchased a 23 ranger so far loving it!
Really looking forward to the upcoming content of your Colorado Andre!
Great truck. I love the color and wheel/tire combo.
When that beetle was coming in hot and heavy all I could think was brake failure lol. I was scared for you Andre hahaha.
Another great video, guys. Thanks!
Nice truck, Andre! If I were in the market, I'd purchase one. I would order cruise, though. Keep on trucking!😊
I've been very interested in the long term reliability of GM's 2.7. Great looking truck, and really looking forward to future videos.
I honestly think Chevy/gmc knocked it out of the park with their mid size trucks. It seems like they definitely listened to their customer, and I applaud them for that. Also, believe it or not, no cruise wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. I don’t use it enough to really be bothered by it.
MPG gets better once the miles get on it. I love the color and the truck.
You mention often that you didn't get cruise control. I'll bet you might have the only Colorado in the country without that. Sucks that you don't have it but it is now a rare truck.
I like that Peugeot 404 you have behind the trailers. This is another legendary car.
I'm a Ford guy that likes full sized trucks, but I've gotta say these gm midsized really have me impressed. I am sold on interior and exterior.
Absolutely love this truck
Thank you for testing out the towing on these new Colorado's! it's great to see this engine work hard and perform beyond peoples expectations. I was curious, if you were to guess how heavy was the total tow weight you were towing (unless you know the exact weigh, lol)? trailer + vehicle on trailer.
Great video guys. I really like that color Andre
That’s a big trailer hooked up to that ZJ!
Andres truck looks great! Love that color 🤠
Great Video. That is a pretty heavy trailer. Nice to see how the 2.7L engine is performing. Looking forward to future Colorado videos since I have one on order myself.
That’s a pretty stiffly sprung trailer.
Not surprising you are getting feedback from it.
I towed my Toyota trail truck a LOT with my last gen Colorado diesel.
Have a 4” drop axle 7k trailer, and the feedback was far less than with the 14k unit I have for the larger truck.
Everything needs to be properly matched particularly when towing with a small truck.
Thank you for hooking chains under not over
Love it to see yellow back on the Colorado.
Cant wait to see tue vw build love this.
Andre, now that you have your 1sr tow with the Colorado how does it compare to the Ford Ranger for towing ?
How much trailer squat did you have. Great video!
andrey is always delivering by buying truck to test for us
I love the colour of Andres truck. I'm considering a GMC Canyon in the same colour in a AT4.
Very impressed
I’m waiting for the new Tacoma but very interested in the Colorado so far
I think all the next gen mid sizes look pretty sweet. My least favorite will be the Nissan. I have a ‘21 Ranger now and I got to say this Colorado looks pretty sweet and the price isn’t too bad either. I’m looking forward to seeing the new ranger and taco.
Same. As I’m waiting on the new Tacoma, I think the Colorado Trail Boss might be the contender for my next ride, especially if they throw a considerable mark-up on the Taco.
Best TFL duo... such a natural flow.
No cruise and no LED headlamps/taillamps is just ridiculous for the price of this truck. All truck manufacturers seem to be doing this though to push people into higher trims... I think Andre could buy a cruise control switch for the steering wheel and pop it in and have the dealer activate it. At least, that worked for me on an F-150 XL.
I’ve thought about buying one of these or the new Tacoma. I want to convert a 7x12 enclosed trailer to a small camper. I would love to see how they handle a trailer like that.
So the Trail Boss is a basic model. LOL!! Crazy prices on this stuff. Nice video and honest review. Thankyou
Tow/haul mode is the reason you weren't in 8th gear on the highway with a load behind you. Common guys you should know this!!!!!
Really impressive.
How about a towing test like that one you did with the ranger towing the 2500 suburban on the aluminum trailer
Brake controllers should be treated like emergency equipment and easily accessible visually and manually
Andre looks like a giant in that truck lol
That's really good
Same mpg as my Fj Cruiser without trailer..Not bad 🙂
Andre has his foot in it before the trailer made the turn....... trying to run her like a Duramax!
Mid size truck w/ 4 cylinder = Man card revoked
Meanwhile, the Silverado 2.7 can tow more, gets better MPG and is cheaper than the new Colorado with the crazy Silverado 2.7 discounts these days.
The Silverado is ugly though
Being a Trail Boss probably isn’t apples to apples if comparing to a lower spec Silverado without offroad goodies and ground clearance.
It also doesn’t fit down most trails
I love that Nitro Yello
Another great video. Love the truck but it looks a little small for your size.
Wow ! Nothing Should take your eyes off the road!
Why did you move the load from towards the tongue to over the axels? Doesn’t that affect the trailer controllability?
Tommy has got to follow up with his Bug. My first car was a 71 SuperBeetle!😂
Is love that color. I think it towed 25:13 really well. I have a six liter o three g m c two wheel drive and it gets about ten Towing a large trailer at fifty miles an hour on flat 😊 ground at five hundred feet seven hundred feet above sea level no turbo.
Nice episode thank you! Please comment on Ram’s new announcement
Living in NY, I'm not a fan of yellow vehicles because they remind me of NYC taxi. But I like the yellow on that Colorado.
Cant wait to get my z71
After watching some of Andres Trail Boss vids this might have to be my next truck. I’m curious if the Tacoma will have a similar price tag.
Love the '71 Beetle but I think that's not a '71 engine lid. '71 had two sets of louvers, not four. Maybe someone swapped it out at some point for better cooling? Hopefully buying a Canyon At4 when they are a little more available. Love all the content!
Andre fumbling with the strap “OK cut” 😂. I love it, been there before. Those ratchet straps can be frustrating. Doesn’t matter how many times you use them.
Can you do the same test y’all did ford maverick with this truck .
I like how the body shop is someone’s house in the middle of a farm town.
“Well Andre, let’s hook up”.
Good video. I like the rear camera features and the trailer light test.
Very cool. I have a ZR2 on order 👍
same.
Any help on the tow hitch kit part number? My truck came with no accessories and I am having trouble finding anything for the 23 Colorado!
Great viewing
I would have rented a tow dolly to move a little car like that. That trailer looks very heavy.
Good review but the trailer brake controller NEEDS to be on the left to keep your SHIFTING hand free when needed at the same time
If Chevy made an SUV on this chassis it would be VERY tempting.
Im hoping they offer a 6' bed at some point.
I start with 5000 lbs for my first set too.
Andre got a very nice truck. But I think he will miss the big cab from the f150
Good question, however I went from a HD 3/4 ton to my 2021 Colorado ZR2 and haven’t looked back since.
@@krisw8597 I have a 2020 ford ranger for my dayli and I really love it, but I live in mexico and some times we travel up a long way in the usa, and I feel like for traveling with family I need a bigger cab, so I,m waiting to afford an F150 and keep the ranger too
I had a 5 speed 4cyl short bed single cab 2wd s10 ,,, I definitely towed more than 5000 pounds with it a few times .. truck was truly a beast
I really can't believe cruise control isn't standard, especially at that price.
But I been waiting for this. Come on with the IKE.
Useful range with that small 21 gallon tank will be limited to around 150 miles. But that's probably enough miles between bathroom brakes.
At 13mpg, should be able to go 250+ comfortably.
Bathroom brakes? For when you just can't stop gotng?
5:49 - That JGC is going to struggle! Unless it's the 5.2.
hows the back seat in the colorado? i have a daughter thats still in a car seat.
Nice truck man. Throw the tent on the bed and go camping. And of course make a video about it.
I really wish the trailering app could have been "retrofit" to the previous generation infotainment systems.
Definitely a product of the camera, but that place looks so remote I thought you were up by soapstone at first.
Gear Junkie CZcams channel "we jumped it" video posted a day ago ... 9:26 Andre in the background gray shirt green pants 😂😂waiting for that Colorado video
