Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we rean out of money and went home to normal life. We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

Great Vlog👍, loved seeing you guys trying to readjust to van life! FYI, you can get large diameter PVC tubes/pipes used for water drainage, put the screw on caps made for it on the ends and attach it to the van roof, or standing upright on the rear doors, to store your skis and poles out of the way so you get to keep the shower! You're going to want to seal the opening of your grey water tank replacement so it doesn't slosh water out going around turns and bumps. Get a piece of rubber sheet (Lowes: "Keeny" 6 inch rubber washer $2.48) cut an opening slightly smaller than the tube so it stays tight around it and clamp it to the jug opening. No leaks or splashes! ....OVER! lol! 🤣
Just remember that it takes longer to boil things in higher elevations so that's why it took more than 20 minutes. Looked like you two had a great time. Looking forward to more of your adventures!

Thank goodness you guys did this before I brought my van up through New Mexico & Colorado because I NEVER would have thought of the foam floor and I am SOOOO about to install that this week!! Cold feet on the van floor are the worst!! And I'm MUCH less afraid of taking the van through winter weather now. Phew! Thanks y'all!

I am always so happy when i watch your video's. I'm always home since i got disabled almost 8 years ago. I always wanted to go travel, long trips to the U.S, Austalia, Afrika and of course visit everything in Europe. I always thought that I would have time later in life, when i could efford to not go to work for 3-6 months without getting paid. But i never got there... But i am thankfull for your videos, now i get to see how the world looks like, i haven't missed one video in all these years. We used that padded floor in our living room on the hard wood floors. We put it under our rug and it makes all the difference in the world. You could also put carpet on top of it in your van and when it gets dirty you just shake them out. We did that in our van as well. So much nicer than muddy floors and when it gets old, we just toss the carpet.

I’m a 16 year old New Zealander and i’ve decided i no longer want to live the ‘normal’ persons life i want to travel and do challenging things and that’s all beacuse of you beautiful people. In ski/board culture, make sure to never say “last run of the day” , it’s bad luck!! Always say 2nd to last run of the day even when it’s your last :) that way you won’t fall hehe :) glad to see ya back on the slopes!
