Great video! I often get asked why we need a physician's order to dispense spacers? Well, I say it's a piece of medical equipment. Otherwise I haven't been told anything else.
#jimmymckanna my hospital used a link of 6 inch long corrugated plastic tubing as a spacer. I actually teach my pts almost exactly how you did here. And although I didn't learn in rt school, I did learn as a mother of 2 mild intermittent asthma kids that you can use the toilet paper tubes or even a small styrofoam cup with a hole on the bottom worked. (I was in rt school, but didn't learn it from my classes)
Same here 🤧 Nothing learned in rt school🙃 whole rt life sucks
This is great information. My doctor prescribed the Symbicort inhaler without giving any instructions as to how it should be used and said nothing about a spacer. I've done some reading on my own and now have a spacer. Big difference.! In a future video, please address nebulizer usage.
Thanks for the reply!

Should we clean the canister and spacker with warm water?
I believe the instructions call for warm, soapy water and periodically a vinegar/ water solution
