    As an F150 enthusiast, I truly respect ✊🏼 Tundras. They’re excellent trucks that offer practicality and reliability. A majority of auto journalists and truck guys criticize it for its atrocious gas mileage, marginal safety rating, and outdated interior that’s not up to modern truck standards like the Big 3. Overall, The Toyota Tundra retains and perpetuates what an old school pick up truck truly is; dependable and rugged.

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul Před 4 lety +4

      Rugged? Have you ever seen how flimsy the frame is? It flexes so much that the bed will actually put dents in the back of the cab. It rightly gets complaints for fuel economy because 3/4 gas trucks are getting the same fuel economy despite having significantly strong frames, heavier duty drivetrains, heavier suspensions, stronger axles, etc. Toyota used to be praised for its high tech fuel efficient engines.

    • @matte8441
      @matte8441 Před 4 lety +2

      hochhaul I noticed the frame flex too whenever i jack these trucks up on a hoist. When I lift a domestic truck they hardly flex, particularly the Ford. Main reason why I don’t buy Toyotas despite me being a Toyota mechanic. Engines are very reliable but the overall body construction isn’t as good as the others. I chose a diesel VW Golf over a Corolla when I needed a new daily. Those pre-DEF TDIs are just as reliable but the body is far better built.

    • @andrewbelmudez6985
      @andrewbelmudez6985 Před 4 lety +1

      hochhaul yes I’m aware of it’s atrocious fuel economy. People only buy them just for their powertrain

    • @andrewbelmudez6985
      @andrewbelmudez6985 Před 4 lety +1

      Matthias H The Tundras powertrain is what attracts pick up truck buyers who just want a reliable engine. At the end of the day, Toyota has 0 interest or motivation for manufacturing full size trucks (a side job during their spare time). Regardless of the i-Force 5.7 V8 engine, I would take a 5.0 engine equipped with a 10 speed auto in the F150 trucks. Ram and Chevy are hype machines and are constantly recalled more than Ford.

    • @matte8441
      @matte8441 Před 4 lety

      andrew belmudez I would also go Ford if I needed a truck. Toyota would be my second. I have no interest in Dodge or post-2004 GM. Another thing I dislike about the Tundra is value for money. You get more in an F150. Their lack of innovation isn’t necessarily a bad thing imo. It’s proven designs. The 6 years I’ve been with Toyota I’ve only seen very few major problems. But if someone needs a truck I always suggest Ford first.

Sure Toyota is a bit behind in terms of technology and advancements, but they're only going to continue to implement things that are proven and work day in and day out.

      I agree with you 100 per cent. A couple of weeks ago I watched a movie about Ford trucks and a 2-year truck has a complete lightshow on the dash when it started. I can't seem to remember a 2-year toyota doing that. Besides, I'm fed up with automatized luxury trucks that can tow a house and go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds while massaging one's backside. lol Sorry for my ranting. The engine sound is amazing though. Show me a new truck with a sound like that.
