Pac-Man World: Level 11: King Galaxian (Boss 3)

- As I've said already, every boss in this game is fought differently from the last, and this boss is probably along the coolest AND most-frustrating.
First, you don't even fight this boss. You first go through a vertical-scrolling shooter sequence, similar to Xevious, but you're fighting through the same enemies you would face in Galaga, complete with their original sound effects, too.
You will eventually the huge King Galaxian ship, but you do not face this entire ship. You shoot off its head and then face THAT for the boss battle!
----------
The King Galaxian's head has four eyes, and you have to shoot them all to destroy. However, this is easier said than done. You can only shoot down one eye at a time, and the remaining eyes fully heal themselves if they got damaged. The head will then reel back and shoot blasts and ships at you from afar. This head can also potentially use a tractor beam to suck you up and eat you.
With each eye destroyed, the smaller Galaga ships it sends at you get tougher, eventually protecting themselves with shields, while the head grows pincers to snip at you. Less eyes to shoot at also means that it gets a bit harder to shoot the remaining ones.
I remember this being so tough for me that I used a turbo controller to help me shoot rapidly at this thing! Not the case for this video, though.
----------
After beating this boss, I'm now able to go further through Ghost Island and save more friends!
----------
Watch me beat a more fun take on King Galaxian in Re-PAC, here!:
• Pac-Man World Re-PAC: ... - Hry
As a huge Galaga/Galaxian fan, this was definitely my favorite fight.
I remember back in the day this level was so hard! I can't wait for the remaster
wen I first heard about the remastered I almost cried happy tears because this game got me into 3d games
Well, for starters, you get the chance to escape his tractor beam attack.
@@kylestubbs8867 as well as that, you don’t have to mash anymore
@@anthonygineo4476 A REMASTER IS COMING OUT??
Boy the ramaster made this so much easier, I just beat it wothout a single death, and thought something was wrong lol. I now remember mashing buttons, once you shot fast it's so much easier.
Man this game brings back such great memories 😀😀😀
This level gave a mental breakdown lol 😅
Me too now im trying to kill him and i have a mental breakdown
Those blasts that the King Galaxian and the smaller ships fire reminds me of the photon torpedos from Star Trek.
I remember playing this when I was 4 years old back in 2003. It literally took me *TWO YEARS* to beat King Galaxian. I didn't win this level until I was in 1st grade in 2005. 😦
I did not fight this boss because my game disc decided to fuck up on me give me a black screen
Did you even bother with Anubis Rex?
@@kylestubbs8867 no
What disappoints me is the remake doesnt have this scale. Space here is black, cold, and lifeless and King Galaxian himself is very hectic. You feel like you're actually fighting an alien with it drifting back and forth like that as opposed to how stiff and static the remake is.
The way he died in the ps1 version is better than the remake one.
Fyi. If you die: you have to start from that check point
Indeed. And God forbid if you miss that checkpoint; you'll have to start over from the very beginning if you die.
@@Zythus07 Too late. Did that the first time I fought this boss as a kid.
This boss is really just a test of how fast you can mash buttons. It's a test of your reflexes.
In Repac, its not an issue anymore
This what missing in some games today, one of my favs.
King Galaxian's name tells me that he's the king of the Galaxian fleet.
How’d it take me _this long_ to realize the “spaceships” leading up to King Galaxian were his body segments?
Because King Galaxian has body segments, is he a giant robot centipede?
4:50 kame...kame..haaaa...
I have forgot the doble shooting. Thanks

This is kinda like a Galaxian arrangement!
Back then that claw discourage me to get closer, little did i know it does nothing to you 🤣
If you ever play the Re-Pac, be warned that they _can_ do something to you.
What if there was a Galaxian video game, where King Galaxian is the final boss?
Seemed much harder as a kid. I'm sure it went on after you taken out the eyes and shot lasers. The music seemed more badass to like a rap song, something as good as Jess Glynns "I'd rather be" but as more of a rap song. I think even with lyrics. Maybe it's the Mandela effect. Who knows. I used to think this with sonic the hedgehog for mega drive being different and then realized it actually was for the Nintendo version as they're lest two different versions.
I could finally beat that boss, it was super difficult
If they have the alien spaceship that took Pac-Man, then another ship will probably get Pac-Man back.
I wish this was true...
Yeah I prefer this version of the boss fight than the one in the remake
wait did they make it easier in the remake? I never beat this boss as a kid and wanted to do it in the remake
@@sweatypalms9682 it's pretty easy compared to the original. But it's still a fun fight nonetheless in the remake, a couple things are changed up :)
@@freakazoidCAS wow someone actually replied. what a g. i bought the game and looking forward to beating this boss then:)
@@sweatypalms9682 hey man, no problem. I played this game so many times as a kid. It's a fun time.
I can understand why. He doesn’t fire bullets from his mouth, only from his tail during those in-between phases.
In exchange, his claw strikes actually hurt you, and he uses his (thankfully escapable) tractor beam more often.
2:31 No matter how many times I try, I just can’t seem to find a way to avoid getting sucked into that electric beam (or whatever it is). Does anyone know how?
im surprised anyone still comments on this video.
if you're playing the original PS1 game, to escape King Galaxian's beam, you just have to shoot at where the beam is coming from (it's mouth, i guess you could call it), and it'll let go of you
Как так быстро стреляешь!?
that boss isn't my favorite along with the 2nd boss it was very challenging at times. I'm okay with the space levels but not so much the boss.
How you able to mash the button so fast?!
Turbo Controller maybe?
Spamming X and O
Just spam all the buttons to shoot more hits
Was looking forward to this boss in the remake. They fucked it. Its a good thing the remake comes with the original cuz they made the new one wayy too baby proof
What? Remake comes with the original pac man world? I 100% it and i havent seen it
@@TombEvils If you beat the Quest it comes with the very first Pac-Man game, I don’t think it comes with the original pac man world
Turbo controller....how not fun
You don't need a turbo controller, just mash the fire button or buttons as hard as you can. Might take some practice, but you have the entire approach to get good at it.
No, you just tap SQUARE and CIRCLE repeatedly using two fingers for turbo shots.
