    Its a pity that Lizzie Ammon thinks NRR is stupid term . Will talksport broadcast of EUROS say Goal Difference is a stupid term ? I don't think so. So talksport if you wanna cover cricket hire people who respect the sport .

    The semi-finals are still 1vs2 and 2vs1. India is not going to choose their opponents. The timing of the India's semi-final is fixed to maximise ICC revenue.. That is not a sporting disadvantage.. That is just commonsense. This has been done before for other sports to allow supporters clarity and allow them to plan ahead. So much for a journalist who doesn't seem to have much of a clue.

      Which football World Cup does that. Also it was decided that India plays Australia unless they failed to qualify. This seeding business is stupid. Even as I find Lizzie’s tone stupid, BCCI does what it wants including not caring what ICT wants.
      Even if they don’t choose opponents, they choose the conditions. This is like Kolkata Knight Riders choosing to play in Chinnaswamy than Chepauk. KKR would be a better team in Chinnaswamy than Chepauk so if they could decide where they play is a big benefit. This is wrong. I would be mad if Pakistan did it so I should be mad if India is doing it. I don’t care if it is India or X team doing it.

      Well India v Pakistan is a fix at every World Cup

      @@CricketEngland So how is that BCCI fault? It's ICC trying to maximise its revenue. BCCI would prefer not to play Pakistan.

      Oh, she knows. This is not a case of ignorance, but more a case of "lying by omission".

    1. All countries other than England and to some extent Australia have a right to complain against Indian hegemony. I am a critic of BCCI more than most people and especially my fellow Indians. Let’s think how England had all the ODI world cups in England until India pushed for it to be moved somewhere else. The MCC still creates rules of the game.
    2. England and Australia essentially controlled cricket for decades and even a century till the rise of India as a powerhouse. They gave the worst facilities to India and other subcontinent teams when they visited there. They gave the bad schedules in those world cups for these “smaller teams”.
    So Lizzie could have said what she wants by adding that just like England did what wanted for a long time. Now it’s India’s turn to do what they want.

    Who wants to play game at 10:00 am.... indian team themselves are complaining ICC.... that ICC see indian team as revenue machine and they send them to U.S and then west indies... all matches are at 10am... indian didnt even have reserve day which other team have in semi's

    • @renegadepuppy
      @renegadepuppy Před 5 dny +1

      Indian team and BCCI are two different things. Indian team does not want 10 am and wants reserve days. BCCI wants viewership and money. They are talking of Indian cricket board. I have qualms of what Lizzie said so I have written a rebuttal. But at this point, BCCI and ICT interests are not aligned.
