Most definitely. It’s also more rewarding. These are the risks we take racing. I can guarantee that every single professional racer wether it’s autocross, road course, drag, rally or drifting has money shifted with or without damage to the car. A lot of people talk shit about it being a girl driving, she should’ve done this or that, but they’ve probably never competitively raced before and she finished 2nd in points for the season this year with the series we run with. Probably wouldn’t happen if she’s a terrible driver lol. Thank you for the comment 🙏
I wonder why Americans always talk about 'money shifting' as if this happens very regularly, while I literally don't know anyone here in Europe who has ever had this happen to them 🤷♂️
Looks like she was taking a somewhat hard right hander, and when she shifted, she pulled the shifter a little bit to the left in the direction her body was likely being pulled. It looks like she entered second gear
Did i blow a tire? No you shifted into second at 90 mph and now either the engine transmission and clutch or all 3 sound like gravel in a washing machine.
i almost money shifted my car when i was first learning stick; went from 4th to 3rd but brought the rpm's up to upshift but i never let go of the clutch until i realized what i did, so i took it out of gear quickly, went back into 4th gear after the rpm dropped and rev matched, i got off pretty lucky😅

@@GriffithBerserk-jz5bi I may have used some harsh words but you don’t want to engage the parking brake after having been on track. The e-brake pads get super hot and can stick to the rotor and fuse to them if hot enough. I know this because I did it myself with my C5 Z06 many years ago. The e-brake pads completely melted and got fused to my rotors. Before this I didn’t even know there were separate pads for the e-brake. Luckily, my mechanic buddy was there and was able to chisel and hammer them lose so the wheels would spin but I had to take it to the dealer to get all new e-brake pads. I mean they were toast. lol. What you should do is just leave it in gear with the brake off and if you’re worried about it rolling place wheel chocks behind the tires.
@awepossum1059 majority of people that drive manuals have done this regardless of how god like they want you to believe there driving is lol. Usually at lower rpm’s so when it spikes it’s nothing too brutal. When you do it at redline, bye bye motor.

When I pulled the motor, I was also very curious especially since it was a competition clutch 6 puck that was daily driving and tracked for 2 years and over 15000 miles. It had normal hot spots considering how aggressive you had to be engaging it and it still had a bit of clutch material left. I was surprised there wasn’t a window in the side of the block or at least more damage than there was. Still need to put the transmission on a dyno to see if it’s still good or not though.
