Minecraft is a sandbox game developed by Mojang Studios. In Minecraft, players explore a blocky, procedurally generated 3D world with virtually infinite terrain and may discover and extract raw materials, craft tools and items, and build structures, earthworks, and simple machines. Depending on their chosen game mode, players can fight hostile mobs, as well as cooperate with or compete against other players in the same world. Game modes include a survival mode and a creative mode. A little tip for when he plays again and ends up in a snow biome,wear leather boots when you walk through snow. They keep you from sinking into the soft snow.

God the mod community for games like this and Terraria never fail to amaze me with how good they are at making the world feel more alive and immersive with npcs having lives. Makes the world feel a million times less lonely in singleplayer.

No, it has a city building aspect with NPCs and jobs and you can find abandoned towns and such but I believe the dungeons are a seperate mod@@massivelegend7599
@@massivelegend7599the only thing it adds are abandoned villages that you can also restore. Other buildings must be other mods.
The required dependent mods of the ‘MineColonies’ mod pack are BlockUI, Domum Oramentum, Multi-Piston, Structurize, and TownTalk. This modpack can be accessed through CurseForge.

Not sure if it was this or a different one, but I had a mod years ago that let you place a block that auto built buildings and people moved in. I found it more fun than building stuff myself XD

those "spinny things" 1:52 are from the ars nouveau mod, they are entirely peaceful and can be tamed to help with tree things!
I just think this makes it much funnier when he talks about going to war with them.

This mod idea has really come a long way, I remember playing a mod with the same premise like 10 years ago (that’s not hyperbole either) and it was just a mess of new game implementations that were kinda hard to even access and the helpers didn’t actually do anything, they were only there for RP purposes.
Minecolonies is a giant mod that's very good. I'm glad you are giving the recognition it deserves. I hope you will continue playing it. There is so much to do with that mod.
The recommended builds to start this mod is the builder, lumberjack, miner and warehouse, after the first 4, you need houses before anyone else will join the colony

Kevin you can change the build presets to not be made of birch. I think there is a build for each type of wood and some stylized builds like medieval.

And you can disable use shears for builders and miners etc use the build tool to see a preview and place the buildimg from a far
