    The Plateau XLTD combines the versatility of two 29" x 74" twin beds with a spacious floor plan loaded with storage. The front cab area has two separate workstations that can double as a morning coffee lounge.
    The dry bathroom enhances the appeal of the XLTD with its spacious Corian® and glass corner shower and large vanity usually found in much larger coaches. Plenty of interior storage along with three exterior storage compartments ensure nothing will be left behind for extended trips.

    What a great, informative presentation! One day, hopefully, I can buy one of these. Time is short for me and I likely will not make it since I am 65 now. All you young people...live your life. Get one of these! Live while you can. Truly. Live.

    Absolutely amazing! What a wonderful, well thought out coach. This is perfect for a couple who loves to travel in places that are typically inaccessible to larger motorhomes.

    Nice job with the tech. I'm actually a bit jealous of this one; that's never happened before. Your design is one of the most well-planned I've seen. Keep up the great work and looking forward to seeing how you can possibly top this one.

    This unit is SO CLOSE to being perfect. But there are a few things that would improve it.
    1. Offer an option for an induction cooktop (either portable or built in) and 2 way compressor fridge.
    2. Lose some of the storage and find a way to increase the fresh water tank capacity.
    3. Consolidate all those interior control panels into one clean, neat designated "power" area.
    4. Consolidate all those exterior access panels into one or two clean neat areas where you don't have them cluttering the drivers side of the rig.

    Pretty Cool Toy for any Minimalists....
    With so much added weight inside the Van, it's a better idea if it's a double wheels on each side for safety. Used to drive a Van with a ton of equipment inside and i always had to replace the Tires every year, the extra weight wore out the tires much more quickly if it's a single tire on each rear side.

    @Pleasure-Way:
    Give us 4-Season! Give us AWD/4x4 and the ground clearance to go with it so it's usable!
    Why is Winnebago taking the lead in that while all the other Class B, B+ & small ("micro") C makers (including Canadian Roadtrek, which should KNOW how to make a 4-Season RV, but refuses to) are behind the times? It's 2018 and that's what more of us are wanting: 4-Season and true 4x4 preferred -- but AT LEAST 4-Season and a good AWD system!
    So please, STOP the ridiculous exposed plumbing below the floor in freezing airspace. And better insulation in the walls/ceiling/floor. STOP the UNheated water and holding (Gray and Black) tanks. Also the UNheated drain valves for those 2 tanks. You're not alone, however, in that insanity: As mentioned, ROADTREK does the very same short-sighted thing and s offer no 4-Season or 4x4/AWD units.
    And beef up SOLAR panel output "packages" big-time!
    In short, get with the program for gosh sakes...
    All those neat features and fancy colorful systems control screen you're taking about here are POINTLESS if we can't use out RVs ALL YEAR LONG as we WANT to, and as well, can take them off-pavement to some extent to get to boon-docking sites. We don'a ALL want to stay in expensive RV parks.
    Please, stop giving us more of the very same every year (like the old & obsolete ammonia/absorption refrigerators -- dump them for compressor units!). The yearly updates (like this 2018 model) are mostly window-dressing up models that came before -- nothing for concrete and practical usefulness for TODAY'S buyer at all. Change that, get innovative, or at least play catch-up to what the market wants!
    Wake up your designers...or hire new ones with a better vision of the present market as well as trends to the future. LEAD...or follow. You're following now, and back in the pack, too.
    Keep track of sales figures for Winnebago's Paseo and Revel. Then build some of those yourself if you can't design your own -- but build them better, being Canadian! ;-)

      Bill Redding Bill, you said it, especially with beefing up the insulation.
      Come on, PleasureWay...

    • @rchn1315
      @rchn1315 Před 6 lety +5

      Ha-ha! Bill, I've essentially already done that. I'm a PT ski instructor at Squaw Valley. I'm also a (real) engineer so I have a modified my Pleasure Way Excel w/ true 4x4 with high/low gear, LS rear-diff, beefed up suspension, redid the plumbing to be able to withstand windy -30F weather at Tahoe, insulated tanks, solar panels & upgraded electrical system, HAM radio system, internet, remote camera monitoring, 5.1 BluRay system, 32" TV, remote engine start, etc. Not perfect but mostly there; a continuous improvement project. Improving insulation (for cold or heat) is hard after-the-fact without major dismantling. Out of necessity, it's become a mobile hospital for a family member.
      When watching this video, I was thinking about how it's the same marketing avenue as for automobiles, homes, small personal aircraft, etc ... more TECH BLING! Form over function (don't get me started). Unfortunately, it's driven by customers so it's hard to blame the RV manufacturers.
      What happens when that fancy touch control screen goes belly up in 10 yrs (or less). Yes, people do own these RV's longer than what electronics would be available. The only way would be to rewire everything into a new controller hoping that it would be compatible. Very costly for just lazy-ass convenience but that's what people want (not need).
      Been watching the Revel videos, definitely more the Sportsmobile crowd for athletic outdoor couples. The response I've seen is that only affluent athletic couples can afford such vehicles. Alternatively, the Paseo is more mainstream with more creature comforts and limited "Sports" features for families & retirees. At the ski resort the last 2 yrs, there's been an EXPLOSION of Sprinter vans (mostly as the new SUV where it's a nice "homebase" for tailgating parties, essentially a barebones Sportsmobile). The reality is that many couples have divergent needs where one wants to do the weekend warrior thing & the other wants the comfort thing.
      The shortest (2100) 4x4 Phoenix cruiser would seem to be affordable & appears to be fairly 4 season capable. I'd look into that but it's not wheelchair "accessible" for us.
      The issue is the cost these RV's. The dilemma is that few people can afford except affluent retirees who mostly would rather go to warm climates and the beach. The development cost of bringing a product to market has to be justified by a minimum revenue driven by customer demand. With that said, there are low hanging fruit such as a tilt-tolerant refrigerator (my pet peeve), insulation, etc that would benefit any customer.

    It’s true, these are expensive RVs. But here is what most people don’t consider: quality. Most RVs today are complete junk. Travel trailers, 5th wheels, and most Class Cs and As are built the same, using the same flimsy materials and shoddy construction. Do a Google search, or watch the dozens of videos here on CZcams about RV horror stories. Almost 85% of today’s RVs are manufactured by only 2 companies, and they produce crap that looks good initially, but will fall apart, break, delaminate, leak, rupture, short out, jam, flood, come unglued, and drive their owners to tears with frustration. I am not saying these Pleasure Way RVs, or other higher end Class Bs like Airstream, Hymer, or Leisure Travel don’t have problems. They do. But watch this video again and see how he describes the bonding, the cabinet fasteners, the latches, the materials, the wiring, etc. For an RV, this stuff is more important than anything if you are considering buying one. But most manufacturers know they can produce cheap garbage, and if that trailer or Class A has a fireplace, theater style seats, or other amenities that look great in the dealer parking lot, the buyers get sucked in. They know people won’t consider if these same amenities will break or won’t work in 2 months (or even the day you drive it out of the dealer’s lot). Potential buyers of RVs should do extensive research before making the decision to purchase any RV.
