I’m a tap dancer, and I don’t know why this is “redefining tap” these things are easy and if you walk into one dance competition, 6 year olds are doing these things 😂
I’d say they’re just re-popularizing tap. Redefining wouldn’t be the right word.
It's redefining because it's taking it out of its typical setting and utilizing it in a way many didn't think possible. It's taking away the stereotypes around it and showing people the infinite possibilities of how it can be used in anything from musical theatre to Beyonce. And these things are not easy. Sometimes they come more naturally to some people, but that doesn't make it easy. Any 6 year old doing tap, ballet, or any art form or sport, is good at it because they practice and work at it, especially at such a young age. These women are exposing people to an amazing thing, don't diminish it just because you think it's "easy". You seem to already know how great tap is, so shouldn't you be happy that others are now experiencing that as well?
I do not understand why you ladies prefer to dance with low heals, like menm's shoes. My teacher, Tommy Conine, danced with slightly higher heals. He taught me to do this, because it sets you higher on the balls of your feet when your foot is at rest on the floor. This is why I prefer my heals to be a little higher...
This is not real tap dancing, but it's nice to see these lovely ladies doing their own thing.
I do tap I have benn doing since I was 2 in a half now I am 9 8 years I am so good at it

It doesn’t fit a woman if they have a big body like them. The dance doesn’t look pleasing
I dunno. I grew up watching Michael Jackson so this isn't really that impressive. He incorporated tap into his dance moves and it looks 10x better. Not to mention army choreography, mime, etc etc etc....
It's not fair to compare anyone to Michael, he was one of a kind! These girls have fun, he would appreciate that ;)
this is just a different style of tap. these girls are absolutely amazing and so inspirational
They think tap is hard? I can easily do stuff much harder than them without breaking a sweat.....
There's lots of different types of tap. Usually the hard stuff you don't break a sweat as its more technique and smaller steps than jumping around, their style is more like exercise whilst using tap than trying to get all the technique and steps in.
