Flat tyre for Flückiger! Mathias Flückiger punctures, a few minutes before the Tech Zone where his mechanic carries out an astonishingly quick change. He's dropped from 1st to 3rd. Tom Pidcock is away for now but he's in touch with Charlie Aldridge and still in the fight.

Since when is it not against the rules to get outside help in mountain biking? The rule has always been you have to change your own flats do your own mechanicals. Anything happens you're on your own
