This two are from the Sonic franchise:
-In Archie Sonic the hedgehog #270, the off panel portraits Knuckles as Jotaro Kujo and Sonic as Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star with a cameo of El Grand Gordo of the Sonic X comics (Knuckles saying the famous quote from the end of the battle with DIO and the Ora's ) and is related to the plot of that comic.
-In IDW Sonic #32 one of the panels resembles the famous panel meme of Jotaro and DIO (with Sonic and Eggman respectevly)
I’m curious if there is a way to experience the Jojo story by experiencing each part of JoJo in a different medium (part 5 video game, live action part 4, part 3 ova, etc.). Would be interesting to see a video taking about how viewing the series this way would seem and how long it would take.

I mean, strange adventures of jojo is just a synonym way of saying jojo’s bizarre adventures, strange and bizarre mean the same, only the tone is different. This one is actually an overused joke in my language, translating “bizarre” as “strange” and calling it something like strange travels of yoyo (you can transliterate jojo as yoyo in my language).

By the way, the fan letter of Straizo has a part of the fan saying "Sensei you dummie", the "dummie" in Japanese is バカ(Baka), but she write it wrong so it came out as カバ(Kaba), and カバ just so happend to mean hippo in Japanese

The Straizo letter is definitely the best fact here, hearing about a JoJo meme that's become shrouded in obscurity, and not one of the dozens that have become so overexposed and done to death is super interesting.
I wouldn't call it "shrouded in obscurity", I think most Japanese fans of the series know about it.
I don't read or watch Jojo (I just like the video games) and I've heard about it from my Japanese acquaintances.

the part titles not being original makes so much sense in retrospect. They're almost too well-worded and awesome to have been a consistent effort over decades - makes a lot more sense that Araki named them all at once, with theming in mind.
& just right after beginning Stone Ocean - with the JoJo a-gogo artbook coming out in the year 2000
It also explains why Stone Ocean is the first part to make any real reference to or acknowledgement of its title.
That little part 6 Jotaro and Leon Kennedy connection is not the first time Resident Evil has been connected to JoJo. Joseph Frost, the guy killed by zombie dogs in the opening of the first game, was actually named after Joseph Joestar, from Battle Tendency. This would continue into Resident Evil 2 and 3 where a locker labeled JoJo appears in the RPD station, likely belonging to Joseph Frost.

As a Muslim I think its such a shame that Islamic references were taken out of JoJo. They are in Egypt so its pretty likely that would fight next to a mosque. Also I absolutely LOVE that DIO is reading a Quran, he's looking for a way to go to Heaven so of course he's exploring Religious texts to see if he needs to include religious aspects in order to achieve his goals.
I feel like even if Araki didn't have the idea for the Heaven goal yet, it would still make sense. Dio has been commonly portrayed as an intellectual with classy tastes, so it would make sense for him to read older books to showcase how smart/cultured he is. But because it's Egypt, as you mentioned, it's a pretty relevant go-to text for that type of purpose.
It's one of those times where censorship just doesn't make any sense. It's showing accurate Egyptian culture but they decided to get offended for what? Is it against the religion to show those things in media? It feels like an overreaction. It's like they think people reading it would instantly see those things as negative and not understand any sort of nuance.
@@amuro9624 To play Devil's advocate for a moment, this is a character that is noted to be pure evil. While I don't think the censorship was good, it is worth noting that some people might be offended by having their religion represented by someone like Dio.

Another fun Dark Souls JoJo fact
In Dark Souls 3, there's a boss named Pontiff Sulyvahn who in his second phase summons a phantom copy of himself. In the files, this copy is referred to as his Stand.
There's a video about it on Zullie the Witch's channel. They do a lot of file digging in the Souls games.
The Executioner's Chariot is referred to as silver chariot in the files too!
The lost sinner's mask also looks quite similar to the stone mask.

@@CoolManCoolMan123 If you don't consider the Golden Wind game released in 2002, perhaps, but even by 2006 the Phantom Blood game is outdated vissualy, i can say it at least plays better and is more balanced then Golden Wind game but thats to be expected and in many areas its still of the same quality, just made later.

The reason why the straizo fangirl called Araki a hippo, is because hippo (かば）has the reverse order of letters as idiot (ばか）I'm not exactly sure what the cultural implications of calling someone a hippo is, but maybe Araki was this close to becoming an oppih in her eyes...
I think she may've just been trying to be cute, like a slight nod to her not actually hating Araki for killing off Straizo. I've seen people "reverse" titles before (paisen, nodo) for no real reason other then to add a layer of familiarity with them.
although it is odd that she chooses to be chummy with Araki in such a scenario...

In Devil May Cry 1, the enemies called "Nobody"s (which also appear in DMC 5) use stone masks to change form and fighting style. It has been confirmed by Hideki Kamiya who directed DMC1, that they were inspired from the stone masks in Jojo's. Theres countless other JoJo references in DMC too.
There's also Zero and his Little Devils in Bayonetta, referencing Sex Pistols.
In Resident evil 2 in the west office there is a Jojo refference on the locker

Fun fact :
The crusaders never knew that they were attacked by oingo Boingo brothers. So they mistook Vanilla Ice and Kenny G as a part of 9 glory Gods.
And despite Khnum having one of the "weakest/most useless" stand abilities...he was one of the few stand users so very close to killing Jotaro.

8:20 Interesting thing about the manga redraw due to Islamic censorship is that it was in 2008, during SBR run so Araki redrawn DIO in his part 7 art style, obviously if you compare the original panels and the redrawn one, DIO has different body styles.
Honestly "Romance Horror - A crimson tale" would have been a great name for Part 1.

4:09 Also, I don't know if this is only a coincidence or maybe inspired a bit of the naming in Fire Emblem, the other three people who have completed the 77 rings challenge are called "Winsoloe, the Lion King", "Ikeman" and "Kaynegis" which are preeetty related to the names of two characters in Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. "Ikeman" being closely related to "Ike", the main protagonist and "Kaynegis" being closely related to "Caineghis", who is also called "Gallia's Lion King".
Again, I don't know if this has inspired the names of these characters or is it just a coincidence, but I found it funny to see those 3 names together.

Fun fact:in the game terraria,the stardust armor summons a blue muscular golden armored being named the”stardust guardian”,which attacks enemies by throwing rapid punches,everything from the name,and the concept alone is a reference to stardust crusades and star platinum
before terraria update 1.4, the Stardust armor didnt do rapid punches, but instead 1 punch. He was supposed to be a reference to another thing but was changed after jojo fans misunderstood
Now that you label it that way, I have reason to say that the summoner class is a jojo reference , summoners just summon their colony stands (since most summons are individual summons, only difference I know of is the stardust dragon being a single summon that gets longer the more summon slots you have.)
That Strazio Fan Letter definitely had a lot of passion for the character and equal amounts of hilarity.

More people need to be aware of Voodoo Kingdom. Whatever went wrong with the theatrical adaptation of Phantom Blood, it was worth it to get one of the most legendary Dio theme songs ever.

Yeah, I have a simple fact. Did you know that Marco d'Ambrosio, the guy who did the music score for Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, was involved with JoJo? He composed the music for the Stardust Crusaders OVA.
The Castlevania series of games has many references to jojo, the stone mask is a reoccurring item and a boss named zephyr has the looks, abilities and personality of DIO.
Well an important thing to remember with the big rat change is that Araki had no say, because the big rat makes all the rules.

In Pokemon XY, episode 57: "Vanipeti Panic! Left Cold by a Whiteout!", Ash and co. are fighting Team Rocket for the umpteenth time, and after Ash ordered his Pikachu to attack, Team Rocket's Meowth says, in the Japanese dub, "Muda-nyan, muda-nyan, muda-nyan!", referencing Dio's Muda-Muda-Muda. To add epicness to the scene, the Scratchcat Pokemon does poses as well that reference Dio's Wryyyy in Heritage for the Future , Jotaro's stance from volume 13 and Jonathan's stance from volume 4 of the Jojo Manga
There actually is a reference to Soul’d Out in the part 6 op. On the prison wall there is graffiti that says catwalk, a reference to one of the album

I’d kind of like to see a video sometime about the flow of time in JoJo’s, namely how the anime adaptation can be somewhat deceptive. People meme about moments like Dio escaping into the coffin or Jotaro stuffing his clothes full of books, and claim that there simply wasn’t enough time, when the reality is that the flow of time is more ambiguous in manga form.

I don't know if she is the first, but she is definitely one of the earliest depictions of the trope that has inspired other characters later on.

@@ChiefShibaInu It's unlikely tbh, due to the sheer amount of manga that exist before DiU even started in the early 90's. The trope has existed in Japanese literature since before manga was even a thing, so the likelihood that Yukako was somehow the first is just not a conclusive statement. Just because one character became a popular version of an archetype in a medium doesn't make them the first one.
Haman Karn from Gundam predates Yukako, with the manga for the Zeta and ZZ Gundam series being serialized from 1985-1987. And that's just another example of a *popular* version of a yandere character. We don't even know if she would be considered the first one in manga either, but we can say that she is one of the earliest depictions of a yandere that has influenced many after her, just like Yukako has.
@@ChiefShibaInu Yukako Yamagishi is NOT the first yandere archetype to appear in manga or even Shounen manga, but she is certainly the character that boosted the type to mainstream popularity since the arc came when JoJo's was really popular at the time, coming off of the heels of Stardust Crusaders

whenever i need a channel to fall asleep or chill to, I always see of hamon beat has a new video. Not because they are boring, but because he has a calm voice and his videos are usually very interesting. Hamon beat makes good videos.
The stand names, all being song and band names (and tarot cards, Egyptian gods) plus the fact that the parts had no titles or lame titles (lol part 4) just goes to prove that araki really really sucks at naming - when he can basically produce some of the best characters and complex stand abilities

The most recent volume ends right at the beginning of White Album, Chapter 69. The next ones come out in August, then November, then February.
Each book has two volumes in it.

I noticed that Donatello in part 6 had the exact same backstory as Stanley Yelnats in Holes, with being punished because people didn't believe a pair of shoes literally just fell on his head, even though it is what happened.

i remember that yukako fact(was along with the jump crossovers/previews for heritage of the future on capcom friendly club how i got introduced to jojo.) & the ova dio reading the book issue,love voodoo kingdom(especially a remix music video for voodoo kingdom with eyes of heaven.:3) as well as soul'd out's other music(i remember videos of the parts to their music with my favorite being part 3,4,6 & 7 as it fits those parts really well.) and leon teaming up with the crusaders sounds awesome.
