Happy (belated) birthday @SunnyVids!
It's been what, 3 years since I've made you a sad mergana video as a birthday gift? Particularly I think that's outrageous.
This sort of happened while I was in another mergana project, I called it a day and went to bed to do my religious listening of Tswift's new album before falling asleep, and as exile (my absolute favorite song in folklore) started playing I just...eureka?
It should come as no surprise that absolutely any depressing love song can be made to fit the mergana narrative, but it's always pleasant when the theme of your video and the song fit together like a glove.
Did I make myself cry a bit with the 'I trust you's' and the prophecies and the sheer amount of heartbreak these two encompass? Maybe. But it's always such a cleanse editing mergana, I hope you will like this torturous piece of non canon and non endgame as your birthday present, hehe.
Happy birthday Zoé, I realize now as I upload this that your ´ went on the wrong letter at the beginning, but I hope you can overlook this atrocity because I'm lowkey sleep deprived and hey, I love you!

gosh the fact that the "I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending" verse in her pov refers to her trusting him and him poisoning her, thus her not wanting/being able to ever trust him again and in his pov the verse is about him seeing the future in the crystals and not trusting is just so well thought out. Pure genius!

The sadness of the relationship of Merlin and Morgana is so poignant. The shots of him holding her after he has given her poison and even the way he slowly lowers her to the ground as she dies at the end is heartbreaking. Fantastic acting. Thanks for your beautifully put together video.

People tell me they are toxic and i feel ashamed to love them with my whole heart.
I don't think they understand the destiny trope, the fact that we mergana shippers KNOW they didn't love each other during s3/5 and that they are too corrupt from their duties and ambitions to feel something other than hate during these seasons. But their actions, the consequences of their actions made them too united and in a subtle way they grew up with these mistakes. They had something magical and great at the beginning. Something so sad that hurts deep inside your soul. I feel like they could have had something if things were different and no, they didn't love each other in the show but in some ways Merlin regrets everything he has done to her and dreams about her sweet smile almost all the times while waiting for Arthur. And if the Goddess ever decided to give them another opportunity to redeem themselves the first thing they would both do is trying to absolve themselves from the hurt they inflicted each other.
I'm crying how could you ? This masterpiece hurt me in my deepest... these two were soulmates for cry sake ! This song is their song ❤
Okay so I just watched it again, listening more carefully to the lyrics and oh my god it’s incredible. Like, the lyrics of “I’ve seen this film before” worked insanely well with the Merlin looking in the crystal and then those events playing out. I love this video so much!

I have no idea how you managed to create a 5 minute masterpiece about these two but you did. So many glances and weighted scenes that even I didn’t notice, you edited them together beautifully. That transition in the middle between Morgana’s face was absolutely stunning. The quality of this video and how you edited it was so breathtaking, I’m in awe. If Merlin had gone with his instincts instead of listening to the damn dragon (& even Gaius), there could have been a path to- if not a ‘happy’ ending, then at least a less painful one - I’m annoyed they went the cliche ‘screaming evil’ route with her characterisation- like, nuance **is** a thing...

It´s always made me sad that Arthur never really knew why she changed. Merlin always knew she was lonely and terryfied of what Uther might do to her if he found out she had magic (and chose not to help her). But in Arthur´s eyes, the friend he loved as a sister woke up with magic one day and suddenly decided she wanted him dead. Unlike Merlin, he never knew how badly she needed help. How baddly she needed to be told that she hadn´t been born evil, and that she would be safe.
It breaks my heart whenever he asks "whatever happened to make her so twisted" because he genuinely doesn´t know. He never knew how scared she was, because by the time he found out she had magic Morgause had already filled her heart with hate. She´d already been convinced that Arthur was just as bad as Uther, and that as long as either of them lived she would always be an outcast forced into hiding. He only ever got to see her overrun by anger and bitterness, wondering what he could´ve possibly done to make a kind and just girl hate him so much
THIS WAS SO GOOD JEEEEZ I DONT THINK IM EVER GONNA BE ABLE TO FULLY COMPHREHEND HOW GENIUS THIS VIDEO WAS. this song fit them effortlessly and you made it just wrap around their whole story and be completely and utterly tragic and heartbreaking, all the callbacks to earlier scenes as things just got further and further away for these two was beautiful. ow.

So here I am. Crying for my dear Morgana and my dear Merlin and my frustration of knowing this show broke the cuttest friendship brotp EVER. Katie said once that Merlin could have done different and I think the same way. Arthur and Gwen could have done things different too. They talk about friendship, loyalty and second chances all the time, but no one tried truly with Morgana. I understand her so much and I feel very sad for her.
I wish I could edit my own fan videos because I really want to see a video about Morgana with "Ruins" or "nightmare". At least I have this masterpiece to cry whenever I want. And sorry for my bad english.
Awesome display of what miscommunication and secrets can lead to, perhaps that was the point of the Morgana story, a story that made me cry.

😢 there was always another way, a choice. He let that stupid dragon get in his head, pray on his ignorance, his insecurities and those damn crystals show potential futures. It wasn’t set in stone. 😭 I mourn the Morgana we could of had and what Merlin was pressured into doing. I feel like there could’ve been away if he had never been told.

ok, everyone says how they would've been a power-couple had merlin told her about his powers, but what if she knew and was still evil? Like, she was throwing around Merlin with ease when they fighting, because he couldn't reveal his powers.
whenever he was emrys, he was easily beating her. I would've loved for her to discover merlins identity earlier - think of how muc
h better their fights would've been. and an all-out fighting scene at the end instead of a stab - much more exciting.
I will never not feel betrayed by the end of Merlin.
