- In this video I discuss my Top 10 Chicago Blackhawks prospect pool rankings with stats and game highlights. #nhl #chicagoblackhawks
Players discussed: Connor Bedard | Drew Commesso | Colton Dach | Ethan Del Mastro | Ryan Greene | Kevin Korchinski | Nick Lardis | Oliver Moore | Frank Nazar | Sam Rinzel
Besides the prospects, the Hawks seem to have found a pretty good GM and a hell of a coach as well. Richardson had that beer league roster playing hard every night and winning important games down the stretch.
Davidson has taken us from bottom 5 pool to an arguably top 5 pool in a matter of two years and has shed every major contract besides the inevitable Seth Jones one. I was skeptical at first but for now I’m a fan.
I completely agree about Del Mastro. People are sleeping on him. I think he can be a shut down top pair d man.
I think Kaiser will be better. But I do like EDM.
Every time I’ve seen him on the ice he’s a beast reminds me of the hammer I think he’s actually better though
He won 2 Golds with Canada and played on the top2 his second time, I doubt people are sleeping when it comes to Del Mastro.
@@killerpodcasts Sadly, Kaiser reminds me of Ian Mitchell.
I'd love to see one on the Arizona Coyotes. There's some exciting prospects coming up the pipeline there, namely Logan Cooley.
I'd also recommend maybe mentioning the fact that you exclude players who've played 10+ games in the NHL from these lists in the videos cause I've seen comments on both of these that were confused about the criteria.
Arizona is definitely on the list! Yeah I'll have to say something about the under 10 games prospects only.
Chicago will be moving up fast. Some great young guys on this team right now. Hopefully the Blackhawks don't move them up to fast. They need time in the minors maybe except for Bedard. Del Mastro may give Korchinsky a run for his money ?
We have a great chance at adding another top 5 pick in 2024. I think Blackhawks have the best prospect pool
without real depth ? lol no wayyy
@@user-ed6nt1ml6pexplain how we don’t have depth? With a Uno deck of picks in the next 2 drafts.
@@user-ed6nt1ml6pthey have depth. They have picked more in the first 3 rounds than the next 2 teams combined
They’ve have 9 first rounders from 2022-2025
13 second rounders from 2022-2026
They are basically a player in EA NHL franchise mode hoarding picks and building a stacked team
With how much cap space they still have expect the list of picks they own to continue to grow with 90% of the league needing to dump contracts in the coming years
And we’re gonna have a top 10pick next year
The future is bright and only going to get brighter! KD is really building nicely. Really reminds me of Theo Epstein with the Cubs around 2011-2014.
Cubs have a good prospect pool. But there going to have to decide to go young or sign up a good team were players are approaching 30. Cubs wait to long to bring up prospects because of this. Hawks are going full youth next season.
Theo got lucky the cubs came back from down 3/1 or his tenure here you would wNt to gorget trust me
Madhouse will be rocking again.🤘🤘🤘🤘
Best in the league, soon to be an elite NHL product.
Thanks for the Blackhawks Content!
Of course! Their rebuild is coming along nicely!

“Pretty good pool”, how about top 3? Great video
LOL...not bad Top 3-4 for sure!
Everyone is sleeping on Kantserov! The guy has top 10 skillset no joke. Possibly the steal of the draft
He does'nt even dominated the junior league in Russia lmao 56 points in 47 games is not What I call "dominate" so pretty meh even if he is still interesting for sure but just stop overhype kids please
@@user-ed6nt1ml6pyour straight up an idiot look at the point totals for the whole league no one in the league “dominates” and most the people ahead of him are 20
Hope your right. Speed and skill. Passing on Crystal might end up being a big mistake. But the Hawks plan is great skating with speed.
Very good video, thanks. Like many here mention it Lombardi should be on the list, he is a lot of fun ❤
Your gonna love Will Smith for San Jose 😊😊😊 ...Bedard will best Will ...but Will is gonna help NHL cssh registers a lot 😅
and next year theyll have 2 1sts, 2 2nds, and 2 3rd rounders in 2024 draft..loading up on high pick talent!
Really like these videos, gives you an overview of important prospects for each team. I would however, appreciate if you can add either age or draft year for the players.
Yes! Contemplated adding age and draft year and now you have helped me decide that they should be added. Thanks!
@@nhldraftpros Great! Big fan otherwise :)
@@Marzoff Thanks! Appreciate it!
Should have a great pick this year.
The one guy I think will be on lists like this for the Blackhawks next year is Roman Kantserov. For some reason he flew really under the radar in the draft but I encourage everyone who’s a Hawks fan to check him out if they haven’t. He has some very high-end offensive traits. His wrist shot is an absolute laser. Other than that, I generally agree with all these.
I liked Kantserov a lot during the season...he has some slick hands. But he's also a 2004 draftee and is only 5'8" so that may drop him a bit on lists.
People are sleeping on Isaak Phillips.
I only included players who played less than 10 NHL games on the list. But Phillips is a beast on the point!
good video... future chicago fan favorites to keep an eye on - marcel marcel and sammy savoie. s.rinzel and o.moore will be roomies at minnesota this year.
Thanks!
also Gajan, really good goalie
In few years when we start becoming good top free agents will want to come here
After trading away draft picks and young talent for years, the Blackhawks had nobody coming up. Kyle Davidson stockpiling draft picks means that they’re going to have A LOT of talented young players coming up over the next few years. The well is full… another 2 first rounders next year is going to put the hawks over the top in a few years.
I really like Del Mastro but I would've put Allan in that spot, former 1st rounder who's a great skater and good at both end. Plus he’s a big hitter like EDM.
I'm not sure what you used for criteria in selecting prospects - but Lukas Reichel has played only 34 games in the NHL spread across the last 2 seasons - he would be in the top-10 if he is eligible - and yes he can fly too.
Yeah I should have clarified...only included players who played under 10 NHL games (like the entry level contract rule) so that's why Reichel is not on the list. He's a stud tho! Would have him at #2 behind Bedard.
@nhldraftpros lol I knew he wasn't on the list for a reason
Fwiw he's no longer Calder eligible
Rinzel 6'4" 176 lbs that is a very thin build hopefully he puts 20-30 lbs because at that weight the nhl game will break him down.
Reichel not considered a propsect then? Sorry if you mentioned him, I quickly went through the video.
No worries! Didn't include Reichel...only prospects who played under 10 NHL games. Otherwise would have him #2 behind Bedard. Thanks!
please do one of these for the caps!
On the list! Wings coming next.
Great Video!
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Lukas Reichel?
Great vid!
Thanks!
The only thing I think is that Rinzel is too high. Where's Nolan Allen? (I personally hated the Nolan Allen pick)
But he has to factor somewhere
Allen was in the talk...just didn't make the list.
Before watching the video I’m doing my ranks to see how they differ
Bedard
Korchinski
Moore
Reichel
Nazar
Vlasic
Greene
Del Mastro
Commesso
Hayes
Just missing the cut are Allen, Phillips, Dach, and Kaiser
If you noticed I didn't include Reichel and Vlasic because I only allowed for less than 10 NHL games for these prospects...like the Entry Level Contract rule. So we are close on our lists!
And I like your Hayes addition...was on the bubble for me.
@@nhldraftpros I didn’t know that sorry😅 I believe they are still considered rookies but if they were out I would probably put in Dach at 9 and Allen at 10 with Safonov and Lardis probably moving into the “just missed the cut” spots and now that I’m thinking by about it I would put them above Phillips and Kaiser honestly. But ya all and all a pretty close list of my hawks can have another top 5 pick this year while letting Bedard and the other young guys have good years then this team will be set.
@@nhldraftpros and ya I like him more then Dach since he’s a better skater and a better shooter(this being what Dach’s well known for) but both will probably fall into being solid middle 6 forwards though.
What about Gavin Hayes? That dude is a beast!
Yes! Had himself a great season in Flint! Could be in the Top 10 for sure, but I had him fall just outside.
Mallards please 🦆
Blackhawks will develop them into studs
Gajan?
is Lukas Reichel not considered a prospect anymore?
I only included prospects who played under 10 games (similar to entry level 10 game rule), so in this case no. Wanted more players who didn't really have NHL experience. I will specify in future videos. Thanks!
curious to know with Reichel in mind where would you put him on this list?@@nhldraftpros
I have a good prediction Bedard gets 20goals 60 assists
Only 20 goals? I say 35 minimum.
@@mikeporten8174 we will see
I see alot people saying Chicago have the best prospect pool and I could'nt disagree more just because the lack of depth and the Huge difference between guys like Moore Nazar and... the others.. the gap is abysmal imo to me that means this is not a great pool overall they have some Huge names for sure but not that impressive whatsoever
The blackhawks have the best D prospect pool in hockey. And the best goaltending pool as well (4 of the top 29). They did alot this year to add forwards.
@@killerpodcasts best D prospects ?? What ?! lol lmao outside of Korchinski can you name 5 ? Detroit is wayyy better at D and more stacked you're out of your minds for sure
@@user-ed6nt1ml6p alex vlasic, wyatt Kaiser, Ethan del mastro, isaak Phillips, Sam rinzel, nolan Allen. Would you like me to continue, slick?
@@killerpodcasts Congrats I recognize you gave me 5 very good names in D not really convinced by Allen but could still prove me wrong still Detroit is ahead to me deeper in general less high end names but more solid overall imo
@@user-ed6nt1ml6p get a real account and learn to count from a kindy Gartner
Not crazy about there D pool. Kourchinski then meh..Bedard, Nazer, and maybe Moore. Common. Someone loves the Hawks .
They had 3 dmen who were on the gold medal winning Canadian junior team. I don’t think they are considered meh.
Yeah and someone doesn’t!
ineligible for a lottery win in 2024 and the immediate future. Probably still aiming to draft 4th overall for next summer.
Glad the NHL finally wised up and put an end to teams auto tanking.
They can win the lottery next year
That rule only started in Seattle's first year when they changed the lottery system to only include 2 lottery winners. The league didn't retroactively include teams that won the lottery prior to that.
They are eligible to win the lottery in 2024. A team is not eligible to win the lottery and pick #1 3 times in a 5 year span. They are eligible to win the lottery and pick #1 2 times in a 5 year span.
@@Lebowski55
(3) Limit on Teams Winning a Lottery Draw
No single team will be able to advance in the Draft order by reason of winning a Lottery Draw more than two (2) times in any five (5) year period. This limitation will not affect a Club’s ability to retain its presumptive Draft position in any Draft Lottery, nor would it preclude the possibility of the Club moving down in Draft Order to the extent other Clubs advance by reason of winning the Lottery Draws. For purposes of clarity, the limitation would attach to the team, not the specific pick.
@@ericscottstevens Yep, so we can win it again next draft. We won the lottery the first time in five years, we can have a go. Though I'm hoping it's the 2025 draft (if we do manage to win it)
Can't find your Matvei Michkov video? I'm pretty sure you had one just for him at some point
Got taken down! KHL copyright came after it. So I had to remove all Russian Prospects otherwise would get the boot from CZcams. So now I can't include KHL clips...although a lot of other CZcamsrs are using KHL stuff...hmmm?
@@nhldraftpros oh boy, you gotta watch out for those Russians! They'll come and get ya lol
@@nikitakucherov7596 LOL! Yup! I'll be watching too now!
