I know a couple of guys that bought this. Both of them said it works fine. I think the wife is going to buy me one for Christmas. Thanks for posting this video. Nice bike by the way. I would have put my coolest bike on for demonstration purposes as well.
Beautiful Vintage Indian! You must really trust that lift to put that on it. Looking forward to picking up one of these lifts soon~Thanks for a Great Video review!~ Enjoy that Cycle!@
That Indian of yours is killer!!!! I've been reading up on this lift . . . . the good and the bad. I have the other HF lift, which is pretty rickety, but I think I'll pull the trigger on this and the wheel chock, when they have the next sale for $299. Other lifts will cost a lot more, and are worth it if you are working on a lot of bikes. I'm not, so this is pretty much what will work for me.
A little insite on that access hole.. When you put your bike on back words you can do your forks. Removing the front wheel and then opening the hole cover lets the forks fall into that area making it easier getting them off without jacking the bike up a lot.. The wheel chock that I have you smash your fingers when using it.. your looking like they put a small black nob giving more room. Yes it $299... I say I can live with the little problems as Im adding more to my lift. Ty for the video.. .
+00K1200LT I'm still not convinced that the HF lift can really handle the 860 lb. LT, even though I've heard other LT owners use them too. I'd like to have a lift, but would probably go for a heavier duty American made one, as I'm leery of Chinese quality control, as evidenced in this video.
Thanks! Tried to do some work on my CBR600RR and realized I need a lift table to work safely on it...take it to the dealer for 180 or spend an extra 200 and can work on my own bike and save much more! Guess I'm headed to Harbor Freight!
these 2 lifts are very different in the way they're built. the one not shown in this video seems to be the better of the 2. the one major difference that stands out is the way the other table feet adjuster are made. the other table seems far more robust than just a square chunk welded to the side and a hole drilled in it. the other one is a bracket with webbing far more weld area and more strength per it's design. the other design differences are the way the pump is made and operates and the access panel is made. I replaced all of the bolts and U-bolts for stronger stuff from a local ACE hardware store. mine also stripped before I even began to put some torque on it. I dont want it pulling off the table with my bike strapped to it. so I found some grade 8 U-bolts at ace along with grade 8 bolts. the supplied HF bolts are 4.5. that's not good enough.. and yes the safety rod definitely bends. mine is brand new and I have a honda rebel on it right now and it bent it. the bike only weighs 340 or so lbs. it should be hot rolled steel rod so I don't know why it bent so easy. I'm hoping its just flexing which is fine. as for wheel chocks aka wheel vise, Check out Redline Stands. they sell many different brands of them. you do not want a actual wheel chock because you will not be able to remove the front wheel with one. you want a vise like these, www.redlinestands.com/catalog/lifts-c-290/parts-accessories-c-290_304/motorcycle-lift-vise-c-290_304_308/#motorcycle
Man I just bought it today... and I guess I bought the old version. Plus when I try and flip it as he does... the lip does not let it sit flush as his does. I'm gonna call HF tomorrow as see what's what with that.
I got this lift in November to work on my 2012 Harley ultra classic. It works awesome but DO NOT USE CHOCK THAT COMES WITH IT. My harley weighs just over 900 #' s it lifts it easily no leaning or tipping. But I don't use chock I bought a bigger and better one that holds bike while I'm getting off of it to strap it down.
Thanks for the video. I do everything myself, and I could really use the lift, but this thing seems too flimsy for me. I can't believe it's priced at $429 to be honest when they have folding 4x8 trailers for $249...
I have one and it's excellent. You have to swap out the supplied front wheel clamp with Harbor Freight's nicer one, as the supplied one is a joke, but after you put the other one on you can ride your bike right up on the lift and when your front tire goes in to the clamp it sutomaticlly pops up around the tire and secure the bike. You can hop off and walk away. And when you want to pull back out of it, you just give the bike a couple god backward pulls as the clam releases. I park my bike on all the time now (since the lift took up the parking spot), as well as use it to raise my bike to work on, my riding mower, my snow blower.... It's got two level that the solid steel safety bar sets it at: one perfect for working from a rolling stool (I boght that at Harbor Freight too.... Years ago), and the hiegher setting for standing up. Being 6'-2" tall I need someting that can raise high enough that I'm not bending, and this does the trick. It's raised by the foot jack instead of air, but I don't mind. It takes a lot of pumps to rraie it up, but for the price it's totally worth it.
On mine the two front u bolts face up to tie the bike down. The rear set face down and I drilled two anchors into the floor w/ eyebolts to balance the entire unit w/ ratchet straps. When done pull the eye bolts out of the floor and replace w/ flat heads to keep the dirt out. Do you have issue w/ the lift width while loading?
What is the balance like? If I put my 850 pound harley on it then trip into it, If I am pressing firmly on one side or something falls against it is everything going to over sideways?
Someone gave me one of these 8 years ago I own several motorcycle the heaviest weighing almost 900 pounds it has worked for all without trouble would I BUY one maybe not however it was FREE and does WORK
I tried to lift my royal star venture (950lbs) and the lift flipped right over. it took3 people toget the bike and lift off me. so much for the 1000lb rating.
I've got mine assembled, bled, and lifting correctly. Unfortunately, it will not come down, no matter how I push the release lever! Ever heard of this?
Joe R thanks, man. turns out that mine is just really stiff. needs a couple hundred pounds on it before it will come down. opposite of most people's issue with this lift.
Very informative video. I've owned my lift for 10 years and it gets used a lot and I've never had the first problem. I think it's a great value.
I know a couple of guys that bought this. Both of them said it works fine. I think the wife is going to buy me one for Christmas. Thanks for posting this video. Nice bike by the way. I would have put my coolest bike on for demonstration purposes as well.
Did not expect that bike!
Thank you for taking the time to put together this very thorough review! Very helpful.

+Dave Beck Ive had mine now over 3 years and its fine...
I have an LT and use this lift all the time no troubles yet
Looks good, thanks for sharing. I'll probably pick one up this weekend.
Thanks for taking the time to post this video brada, you Da man.
That's not an "access panel." The insert at the rear of the lift is so that you can drop your rear tire from the bike.
Correct.............

Don't care for the lift, but you are a lucky guy to own that Indian! :)
Thanks for making this video man!
Beauty of a bike

Just bought one. They updated it and added a lip to both ends of the access panel now.
Man I just bought it today... and I guess I bought the old version. Plus when I try and flip it as he does... the lip does not let it sit flush as his does. I'm gonna call HF tomorrow as see what's what with that.
Your tie-down placement is wrong, you're gonna drop that beautiful motorcycle...
+The Cyclemedic I agree. they should be pulling front.
yes. he should have it pulling straight down or forward to the vise is best. he is pulling the bike out of the wheel vise.
Thanks 🙏🏿
The rear panel is so you can remove the rear wheel when that stand is lifted.
love the bike bud thanks for the video very helpful

The removable panel it to take your rear wheel off !
Thanks' for the review.
Mine lifts just fine. Problem is getting it back down. any thoughts? I checked the oil and did the bleeding procedure many times.
Thank you

Great idea!

I like those military issue boots. lol
Thanks for the vid. I definitely will not be buying one of these.
Yea, it seems a little sketchy to me as well. Thanks for posting this Mr. Crash.
I think the people complaining about this lift put a full dresser Harley on the lift, jacked it up and fornicated upon it.
We need video
Someone gave me one of these 8 years ago I own several motorcycle the heaviest weighing almost 900 pounds it has worked for all without trouble would I BUY one maybe not however it was FREE and does WORK
can you remove the front or rear wheel with this lift?
I tried to lift my royal star venture (950lbs) and the lift flipped right over. it took3 people toget the bike and lift off me. so much for the 1000lb rating.
How would that work for a snowmobile ?
I've got mine assembled, bled, and lifting correctly. Unfortunately, it will not come down, no matter how I push the release lever! Ever heard of this?
pull your safety bar out...
Joe R thanks, man. turns out that mine is just really stiff. needs a couple hundred pounds on it before it will come down. opposite of most people's issue with this lift.
