The idea being a big wire is the planet in his global circuit so it is always able to transmit anywhere on the Earth and not just bounce around the ionosphere to deliver free wireless energy. Tesla also said something about being able to send power directly through the Earth and use it as a resonate antenna because it rings like a bell and has a resonate frequency itself. There is some Swedish inventor whom has been playing with this idea on youtube somewhere saying this is actually creating what Tesla was calling scaler waves which I am not really sure exist but it is fun to play with the idea. Hi Mr. Carlson - -some years back I was standing in a church parking lot adjacent to my front driveway. Dark clouds were approaching. I was speaking with a number of younger folk when a burst of sparks came off a power line about 70 feet in front of me. A yellowish-orange "ball" floated across the street from those power lines and over a rat rod parked in my driveway. None of the folks with me knew that was a remarkable occurrence so didn't think of pulling out cellphones for a video. (I didn't and still don't own such a phone) Anyhow, as we expected to be rained upon, I walked with a friend back to my house (about 60+ feet) and when we went past the Jeep rat-rod there was a bright flash behind us. Another fireball had come off the lines, following nearly the same path. That driveway is cut into a hill so once the fireballs crossed the Jeep, they only had a few feet more travel before hitting that elevated chunk of land. The first ball which I saw looked to be perhaps 20 - 24 inches in diameter. The one which passed about 10 feet behind us hit higher on the hill. There was no ozone smell and no evidence of foliage being burned. The part which I thought interesting was that when the ball behind (and above our height) dissipated, there was a sound like a "ZZZzzzttttt" much like one would hear from one 60Hz Jacobs Ladder arc. Why might it made that "AC" sound? What might have happened if one of the balls had made contact with a person? It was interesting as I can't drive and go nowhere to have what I think was real ball lightning come to my place ;^)
@@MrCarlsonsLab - do you have any idea why that ball, when hitting the hillside of my driveway made a sound like a partial travel of a 60Hz Jacobs ladder arc? Could emanating off the power lines have something to do with that? It was an AC sound "ZZZZzzzttt" vs a "snap" like from a cap discharge or electrostatic generator.
I greatly appreciate you're focus to functionality as well as tuition, and not hyperbole, as a man with half you're intellect easily could portray, thank you Sir.
Excellent video, as usual. I have watched many videos on Telsa coils and none of them have actually explained and demonstrated what Telsa was trying to achieve.
Marx said that you know when a society becomes reactionary when it starts impeding the implementation of truly people-benefiting technology. (That was a great band by the way.)
Truth is that you could, but there would be multiple hacks due to broken mechanisms and the sealed mechanical ones appeared fragile, heavy, bulky and impossible to service.
yeah that meme seems to be very popular. But it is not actually factual. N.Tesla had a contract with J.P.Morgan to build a demonstrable transatlantic communication. But IMHO N.Tesla got obsessed with wireless power transfer instead, probably because he had given up what royalties he may have earned via his patents with wired AC transmission. Fairly sad actually because he did learned how to focus the frequency of his spark gap transmitter and modulation, he could have had a new run at being prosperous. But soon other more efficient radio transmission methods of other inventors, and and the Flemming valve took over as the leading technology. Look into the court proceeding to do with selling off his property to find out about this back story.
We had a Tesla Coil similar to this in the Physics Department at Texas Tech University when I was a student in the 70’s. It also peaked my interest in physics and engineering in general. Thanks for brings back some great memories of those days.
Hi Paul, wow what a awesome presentation on resonance and Tesla technique! But beside that- great device what you build! That alone is a piece of art which is beside the genius technique a very nice device for decorating your living room..Take care!
Awesome video, really love the term of "RF Firehose". Also one of the few examples I've seen with a fluorescent tube off a tesla coil without any coronal breakout.
I had always heard that Tesla was working on a way of delivering electricity wirelessly and I never understood even the basics. ... Until today. Thank you, this was awesome. :)
Very informative! I love your explanation on RF and what it can really do, the same thing happens when you bring a florescent tube underneath a 500kV power transmission line, and it lights up!!!! Amazing!!!!
That is an incredibly beautiful piece of apparatus. You put a lot of work and pride into it. Can you make a video including close-up shots and an explanation of the circuit? Thanks for sharing it. Take care.
Thank you for finally explaining and demonstrating the transfered application of the principle Tesla developed! Not only that, but explaining that there was a reason his units were noisy and as you said sparky, and how they really *could be used to provide municipal power, let alone a power grid for large transit systems, industrial plants, or even make wifi/Bluetooth networks more robust. Just, thank you for getting it understandable.
Except everyone would get RF burns all day long, the amount of energy received would be minuscule compared to the amount of energy generated, animals, from worms to cattle would leave the area, and folks would start dying of cancer at an alarming rate, so except for that and a few other things. Tesla's wireless energy machine was just a low-frequency, high-power radio transmitter, and the energy receivers were just large tuned circuits. In other words, 1 stage TRF radio receivers with large, resonant, high Q loop antennas. That's why, after a hundred years of advancements in electronics technology, your power still comes in on wires.
Anyone that's had a "bite" from a CW Morse key knows what it's like to become part of the circuit when operating in a confined space lol. Excellent demonstration of resonant energy transfer 😀
Tesla's work was, and is truly amazing.. Thank you for the well presented demonstration.. I hope that one day soon people make more use of this valuable technology.
I like your Tesla coil better than I do the rest I've seen, it looks safer to me without electricity flying wildly all over the place. I don't know how safe Tesla's wireless electric would have been. Thanks man.
WoW... What toys you have Paul! Great demonstration in the transmission of RF energy using tuned coils. That Tesla transmitter is visually stunning. Looks like it should belong in a museum somewhere. Beautiful job in building it. One thing that I did notice right away was the distance from the transmitting coil that the bulb would fluoresce compared with the distance of the remote coil to do the same. Very predictable of course, but interesting to actually witness. J. Paul Getty canned the whole Tesla transmitter project because he couldn't charge anyone for its usage, as we all know. The he should have realized that the rotary spark generator was so broadband RF noisy that he could charge people for cable radio service instead. LOL Love the demonstration, and YES, I for one, would love to see more of this setup in action. Fantastic stuff! 73s Tom
Hi Paul, great video! I believe that I read somewhere that in his the later wireless energy experiments, Tesla used a mercury jet spark gap. It was run by a synchronous motor for accuracy and the electrodes were kept under a vacuum to make the interruptions very accurate. Rumor has it that he was able to produce almost as clean of a signal as the later vacuum tube designs, only with much higher power. We may never know how clean the RF from his later experiments was, but we do know from some of his notes that he was able to get his system to work at a distance of I think 13 miles when he did his experiment in Colorado Springs. Very little is written about his tower in New York and most of what you hear is just rumors and conspiracy theory, not very much scientific fact. Unfortunately, the AC polyphase system along with modern radio was already heavily funded by the investors of the time. Who knows how different it could have been! I haven't thought about this stuff for a long time. Thanks for the very thought-provoking video!!
Sealed spark-gap arc technology was used up until 1970 in medical diathermy machines. The arcs were in glass tubes filled with desiccated Nitrogen under low pressure
I have been subscribed to your channel for a little while now, have watched many of your informative videos, and have come to the conclusion, you are a master at what you do. Troubleshooting parts, circuit diagrams and creating your own workaround circuit diagrams, I am impressed sir, well done :-)
You can find the detailed description from Teslas own notes online and there is no doubt that the "death ray" he had panned was simply a particle beam weapon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Particle-beam_weapon . There is so much rumors and myths around Teslas inventions that could be cleared up if people actually bothered to READ the notes Tesla wrote himself, they are easily available on the Internet.
Mr Carlson, When you brought that compact fluorescent tube near the coil it reminded me when I was a kid, in the 60s. I was helping my older brother tune up a high-power CB radio antenna whip at night time on his car. I had a 4 foot fluorescent tube next to the whip and saw it glowing in my hand looking at the swrs in the tube. It got me interested in a career of electronics. Keep up the great videos.
I lived 5 mikes from Teslas old lab in Momument,Colorado, which is owned by the Colorado Mining Museum. They used to have what was left in his lab on display that wasn't confiscated after his death. And other devices based on his inventions. Had a 10 lb. Mining pan in three circles that lit up when you energized it. The pan would hover in the field produced, and you could touch the pan and try to push it down, annd that pan wouldn't move for anything. Which essentially was a demo of maglev in operation...in 1977,when I saw this. The damned museum sold off most of it to buy more mining machinery for display. When I visited the museum in 2009,no one there even knew that room had even existed. Whatever was left was interred in the big barn on the hill above the museum that was still there from his time. No one was allowed in that barn without the curators permission and no one had gotten permission from him to that time to see what was left in that barn. There was still the foundation of the tower he built. Tesla went to Egypt to study the Cheops pyramid complex, and figured out it was an hydrogen osmosis power plant. Then came back and bought that property to reproduce the technology the Egyptians had produced. One clue was the water Aguifer discovered under the pyramids, and there is a water aquifer under the property in Colorado where his lab was. It's was recycling water from the aquifer and using it as fuel to power the complex in Egypt. Same in Colorado. We had a chance with Tesla to be as bright and advanced as the Egyptians were in their time. Egypt fell because of climate change and the capacitor being stolen in the great pyramid that was in the Kings Room running it all. Egypt had electricity 3500 years ago. And the modern world buried it all for the sake of capitalism, and controlling the populations here. Our real heritage of the world was denied us and Tesla tried to bring it back to us. And now you know the real truth of things. You can check what I'm saying based on Egyptian engineers who in the last decade put all the evidence together and figured out what Tesla knew about Egypt. I'm not for any gain telling you this or some nut bag conspiracy fool,I'm an engineer myself and it all makes sense what has been found. Tesla was the verification of that by what he built there, because it worked, and few understood what he did. Only the ones who did,did everything to bury what he built there. When I figured out by being on his property what he was doing,it left me shaking in the implications of what we could have had.
Pretty interesting what your saying, so it's possible the tech was taken and maybe that's why so much was destroyed by rebel groups... could very well have been over energy tech.. the rabbit hole is deep
Do you have any information on hydrogen osmosis power plant's? I am also in the electrical field, I fix welding equipment, plasma cutting equipment and generators... and well I knew that the pyramid was the basis for telsa's tower, and that the pyramid itself had power generation, conduit, and insulation... but I have never found out how the generation of electricity from underground aquifers work, I assumed the water was running through a bed of permanent magnets or something along those lines, like that it was a natural underground water-table pass-way with certain elements embedded in it that allowed for some type of generator. I want to learn about it and see if I could dabble in making something small scale as I have access to cheap industrial components from scrapped machines and otherwise. Permanent magnet motor/generator is on the bucket list too....Just not keen on a clam-shell style. Anyways anything you might have on the subject would be appreciated, I never went to school to learn other than to MFG. Classes to get certified. I am certified to do warranty work on every major name brand of welder and cutter and even Lincolns CNC tables by the way.. but well I want to learn as much as possible about it as I am 28 and may have enough time to try and do something with the information... if I ever get the time and resources... XD Thanks!
The demonstration in this video is a very good example of the Maximum Energy Transfer Theorem in action, basically, both the machine in this video and the two coils are operating at the same conditions and impedances so that the maximum transfer of energy occurs, as shown by the brightness of the neon lights.
Wow thanks so much. I have been trying to find good information o. This forever. I was starting to assume that nobody really knew what or how tesla was doing out there with his towers. Just rumors. Again thanks so much. You are absolutely gifted.

Back in the eighties and nineties I worked for a car carpet manufacturer and we sealed the heel pads for your car carpet to the carpet with what we called a dielectric machine.
Interesting story, thanks for sharing!
J.P. Morgan: "Can you put a meter on it?"
NIkola Tesla: "What? No! Of course not!"
J.P. Morgan: "Well… wrong answer, buddy."
Lol and so the coper lines were strung mile . By mile.
yeah that meme seems to be very popular.
@@freda5344 Wireless transmission would never have worked anyway!
Mr Carlson CZcams is so lucky to have you sir!
We had a Tesla Coil similar to this in the Physics Department at Texas Tech University when I was a student in the 70’s. It also peaked my interest in physics and engineering in general. Thanks for brings back some great memories of those days.
You are very welcome!
Hi Paul, wow what a awesome presentation on resonance and Tesla technique! But beside that- great device what you build! That alone is a piece of art which is beside the genius technique a very nice device for decorating your living room..Take care!
+TRXBench
Thanks Peter. I see you have another video up today already. You are a machine :^) Maybe.... Das Machine!
...a "Decoration"....funny stuff...my Father used to refer to similar projects as a "Boat Anchor"...tho not a visionary...he was a comedian....
That device is insanely cool. Also beautiful to look at.
I really liked the fact that you are so knowledgeable on this topic and willing to go through so much effort, but it was still way over my head.
I now understand how Tesla's system would have worked. Most effective demonstration.
Awesome video, really love the term of "RF Firehose". Also one of the few examples I've seen with a fluorescent tube off a tesla coil without any coronal breakout.
That was cool! Thanks Paul. I would enjoy watching more videos on this.
I had always heard that Tesla was working on a way of delivering electricity wirelessly and I never understood even the basics.
... Until today. Thank you, this was awesome. :)
I think your presentation was just perfect for all most anyone to understand.
Very informative! I love your explanation on RF and what it can really do, the same thing happens when you bring a florescent tube underneath a 500kV power transmission line, and it lights up!!!! Amazing!!!!
Thanks!
Mr Carlson's Lab Anytime;DD
@Mr Carlson's Lab - I've been anticipating this video since videos became a thing. All I can say is: Nice work, kid, Nickola is smiling.
That is an incredibly beautiful piece of apparatus. You put a lot of work and pride into it. Can you make a video including close-up shots and an explanation of the circuit? Thanks for sharing it. Take care.
I will dive into this project more in the future. Thanks for your kind words!
Thanks man.
Great down to earth video as usual. Every one else would make a FREE ENERGY video out of this.
I'm all about "keeping it real."
That is a gorgeous oscillator. Love the glow of tubes and stained wood.
Let's call it 'TUBE-PUNK' for it ain't Steampunk
Glass tubes, especially transmitting tubes, were the object of my passion for years. All the mystery is visible right before our eyes.
LOL
Love the demonstration, and YES, I for one, would love to see more of this setup in action.
Fantastic stuff!

Thanks again for the kind word Tom!
Very clear explanations, very easy demo. Hats off and thumbs up Mr Carlson!
I am blown away by the design and construction of this machine it being a test instrument. Phenomenal.
Glad you enjoyed!
Nicely done Sir !
This is where you do a mic drop and walk off the stage !!
Again , well done Paul 👏
Just awesome. I've never seen such smooth Tesla coil presentation before. Thank you.
would really like to see more experiments with this awesome device. if you ever find the time.

Everyone trading of his name without a clue. You sir have made a clear demonstration. Thanx
Finally I understand, basicly, what, how and purpose of Tesla and his experiments. Thank you.

Hi Paul good video
Nicola Tesla ahead of his era genius, if born now imagine you could do with so many electronic resources available now

He was a great man!
You sir are the Real Deal... great to see Nikola's stuff in action
thanks for sharing your experiment/demonstration, *mr. carlson* … you remind me of my science teacher … back 50+ years ago.
Nikola Tesla is my hero I heard he invented a death ray that can take aircraft out. The guy was ahead of his time. Great video as always
94マリオ ....no, he didn't. This Tesla misinformation and hero worship does the man and his actual accomplishments a huge disservice.
Awesome!!! Yes, more please!!! Thanks for taking the time to make the videos.
AWASOME!!!!! Please keep doing these videos about wireless energy transport....Thank you!
Wow that is really something. I would very much enjoy more videos like this one.
You sure make some cool looking stuff. Excellent video. Tesla was a brilliant man.
You gave Tesla the honor he deserves. And... great job! Nice build instrument. loved your demonstration.
Thank you kindly!
Of all the videos I watched..this is the best..simple, explained nicely
really nice device, a work of art, it is beautiful, well explained, even me can understand!!!!
This was a great demonstration. Thanks for making it for us.

The best and clearest explanation of tesla's work. please please do more like this. Thankyou.

Another excellent demonstration.
what a great day for science! yes do more of these
I lived 5 mikes from Teslas old lab in Momument,Colorado, which is owned by the Colorado Mining Museum.
XD Thanks!
Nice rant, no one cares/ or bothered to read it in full dumb dumb. Nutjob boomers once again come out to play
lol Egyptian engineers and bigfoot's penis made it in here too I see, nice
I understand Moses took the capacitor you refer to. Some EMF destructive power explained too. Powerful video!
The demonstration in this video is a very good example of the Maximum Energy Transfer Theorem in action, basically, both the machine in this video and the two coils are operating at the same conditions and impedances so that the maximum transfer of energy occurs, as shown by the brightness of the neon lights.
This is the most responsible use of Tesla I have seen.
This is fascinating, please do more related videos :)
Wow thanks so much. I have been trying to find good information o. This forever. I was starting to assume that nobody really knew what or how tesla was doing out there with his towers. Just rumors. Again thanks so much. You are absolutely gifted.
Thanks Bryan!

Awesome. I have no clue what the ACTUAL forces are that in play there, but I find it fascinating anyway. Thank you Mr Carlson.
Back in the eighties and nineties I worked for a car carpet manufacturer and we sealed the heel pads for your car carpet to the carpet with what we called a dielectric machine. I remember the mechanics walking by the sealing machines with 8 foot florescent light bulbs that would light up as they walked by on their way to change out light bulbs, I always thought that was so cool! lol.
Awesome, That was very informative and really cool stuff. Thank you for sharing.
Great video. Thanks for doing it. This stuff is fascinating!
