- We've been looking forward to today for weeks! Our Patrons told us in the offseason that they wanted to submit some decks for us to play, and boy did they bring the spice. It never ceases to amaze us at some of the creative deckbuilding that goes on at the top end of the format!

Horn of greed and Tatyova are not the only landfall draw card effects (especially because horn of greed isn't one) because there's Nissa Vital Force who may not do it immediately but after a turn it gives you an emblem.
What an explosive start from Jerry! The value is unreal! 😍
For another horn of greed effect, check out nissa, vital Force. 5 mana +1 turn of noone hitting her might be dificult, but atleast you don't have to cheat your fetchland draws/tribe scout

Jim would've maintained the integrity of the game. The edits were hilarious. Jerry deserved his fate for getting too greedy.
I think "Jerry receives his fate for getting too greedy" could be the TV Guide summary for like 80% of our games.

I wish that the card images were larger, like they were once a few episodes ago, just to be more readable. An image temporarily covering the commanders seems like a reasonable trade-off.
This is on the table to talk about tonight. We are consulting with a professional editor, and as part of that we'll be standardizing those sorts of things in a style document so all the episodes are consistent. If you're watching on mobile we hear you loud and clear!

Yeah I think that would have been a pretty good play. It would have kept him in the game for another turn, anyway.

Any thoughts on a budget circu list using jace, wielder of mysteries + demonic consultation and isochron scepter + dramatic reversal as wincons? Could be a nice one for a future budget video...
I'm actually looking at doing some overhauls and revisions with Circu since War of the Spark came out and I'm all for looking at budget options!

At 27 mins, why did Elliot not put a land into play before the horn was destroyed?
Also would it be possible to add a turn counter somewhere? Wasnt so bad this game but others its really easy to lose track
We are having an editing meeting tonight, I will bring up the turn counter idea. In the meantime, though, we do timestamp turns in the video description.

cursed totem was making it so that he couldn’t activate the abilities of his creatures (sakura tribe scout) so he was unable to put a land into play
@@nebDDa Ah I misremembered cursed totem. I thought that was artifact hate, not creature hate. Makes sense now

I feel really dense, i'm not quite getting all the allusions to cheating...
Horn only triggers on the special game action of playing a land, which is slightly different than landfall, which triggers any time a land comes into play. Tatyova has actual factual landfall, which means it triggers off of lands coming into play off of activated abilities like fetchlands, but Horn shouldn't trigger there. The end result is that Eliot, Bill, and to some extent Jerry drew a ton of cards they shouldn't have.

With all the cheating going on, I was expecting everyone to at least play cheaty face :(
jerry could have easily used the floating mana and the desert to activate breya and gain 5 life or give either the bruse or tymna -4/-4, obviously he would have to sacrifice his aura of silence to kill the totem which he later did anyway when he dies so... idk

Am I being stupid what's wrong with the horn interaction, play a land draw a card?
Horn only triggers on the special game action of playing a land. It doesn't trigger off of lands entering the battlefield off of fetchlands or activated abilities of creatures.

I would like to commend you guys on your community involvement! spotlighting decks like these introduces people to new decks like bruse tarl/tymna and tatyova which looks interesting! @@TheSpikeFeeders Haha yeah, I was pretty annoyed with them cause there is literally no point in me sitting at the table with them when they bring out their cEDH decks, and as a uni student with no job there is no way Im buiyng some of the cards needed to make a cEDH deck

Lands are the best in EDH, guaranteed
OOF all the misplay on horn make me not want to watch this since it drastically changes the course of the game. It's a shame too cuz I love Tatyova and varolz.
Joshua Edwards same :( it only takes a second to read. He even says when reading the card "whenever a player PLAYS a land" I expected better mtg knowledge from this guys

Fox Loves Cats that's true,but we're not all content creators with reputations to uphold. They are only human of course, but I've come to expect a bit more from them since they're usually on top of it. If it's not something that drastically changes the game then idc at all. This though is game altering and isn't worth the watch imo. I still love y'all and gave it a thumbs up anyways.

I agree. We talked about this a lot on Discord yesterday, and even Jerry agrees that he shouldn't have done it. What makes things worse is that he could have popped the CT a few minutes earlier to allow himself to gain a few points of life off of Breya in response to the Vandalblast!
