    Awesome video. I did the window on the other side of my car after watching a different video, that didnt tell you to clip the wire or how to get the glass off the regulator. Huge pain in the ass that made me not want to do it again when the regulator went on the other side. After watching this video. I have the regulator out in under 30 min, with no problems at all. I dont usually leave comments, but I felt this deserved some recognition after helping me so much. Thank you

    Excellent video. Thanks. I was able to follow it easily and replace my driver rear door regulator in my 2011 328i sedan. I do have one tip to suggest. I used a window scraper with about a 4 inch razor blade on it to go around foam to remove it. It came off perfectly, and there was plenty of adhesive on both door and foam side to easily reinstall for an immediate stick. It wasn't messy at all. Just be careful around the 2 areas where the wiring is.

    This was a great easy to follow video. I am a 54 year old woman and I was able to finish in a couple hours. I had to keep stopping to go find all right tools or something that would work. The hardest part for me was getting the door panel clipped back in. Most of the clips were already busted off so I just made due. .

    I just ordered my own parts and will do it myself. A friend of mine wants to charge 200 for labor and another $160 for the regulator to do the front passenger side. I was about to let him do it but figured let me see what needs to be done. After watching a a few videos the hardest thing to do is getting the old one out and the new one in. Getting to it is simply AF.

    This video was fantastic, I have never fixed anything on my car by myself until I replaced the regulator on my window, saved me probably close to $800 in car maintenance/parts fees, I was quoted $500 just to look at my door

    I've done this job on several vehicles. The hardest was on my 79 Firebird (hand crank) and it involved chiseling rivets off and a trip to the body shop to have them adjust the glass for me. The easiest was my 04 Avalanche. When you open the box of parts it looks scary but the reality is the hardest part of the job was removing the door panel. The only special tool needed is duct tape to hold the glass up while you work if you don't have a helper.

    I can't find any videos about just replacing the window pane. Could somebody point me in the right direction? There are a lot of videos about the regulator and motor but not about replacing the glass itself and I need you at because when the window fell it cracked.

    • @nautijoshy
      @nautijoshy Před 11 měsíci

      Follow this video all the way til they get the window separated from the regulator. Then the window can be tilted forward or backward and pulled up out of the frame. Install the new window doing the same thing in reverse.

    You really should put that black cover that keeps moisture from getting on the door panel and leaking inside car . If you take a razor blade and cut the black rubber sticky stuff all the way around you're able to put the door protector back on . Also you should work with more care. you can't just go breaking clips and plastic on high end cars . Because the Germans don't work that way.

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  Před 7 měsíci

      Couple of things.
      1. The RTV was a mess and I'm not spending a ton of time cleaning it up. You can if you want to.
      2. The door protector is largely unneeded. It has weather stripping around the glass and door. Door protector is a back up at best.
      3. Plastic clips become brittle and break no matter the level of care.
      4. This car is 15 years old, it is hardly considered high end at this point.
      5. I don't care how people work regardless of location.
      6. Thanks for watching!

    Black stuff is not silicone 😂 it's butyl tape😊 reusable always unless you nerf it up.

  • @benroehrich5412
    @benroehrich5412 Před 9 měsíci

    ALWAYS pin the window. Tape, suction cups, hell...even a wedge, if you value keeping all your fingers and/or not having to buy the customer some new glass...PIN THE WIDOW.
    Also, not silicone but putty, holding the sound deadening foam. Completely reusable according to BMW....as long as you don't rip the foam to pieces.
    Informative, albeit, clunky vid.
