I just came back from my home country Germany, the vibe over there was so damn different than when I was over there 2 years ago. My friends and my family are away from "nothing will ever happen" to "too much tension everywhere and it's clear something will happen soon". We don’t have 300,000 soldiers to spare with 800 bases around the world especially those bases in Asia cannot be used. Public knowledge is that the US military is somewhere around 450, 000 strong that is very very small. The US will have to draft and everyone our side is completely green on our side especially in this type of warfare. In the last 70 years our military has been fighting flip flop soldiers that only have ground forces that use AK’s and Mosin Nagant rifles and we still lost on many occasions.

Plus the F-16 would require a minimum of two mid-air refueling each Direction because of the distance that the F-16 maximum fuel capacity just to crossed Ukraine without even entering Russia territory. The F-16 fuel capacity is 10% of the su-35s fuel range. Meaning that su-35 can fly to Poland and back to Russia to Poland and back and still do a mid-air air-to-air battle without refueling

I am 86 and in my day when a young man turned 18 he could count on being drafted. When l wad doing basic training a troop wasn't drafted until he was 29 or so as l remember it and to us (l enlisted age18) younger troops he was an old man.

When world war II started. No one was calling it world war II yet. They were calling at the war between France and Germany. It was only until all the other conflicts began and everyone once again picked sides did it start getting called world war II. You'll see something similar happened here. We currently are supporting strikes going into hostile country with intelligence, resources, direct supervision, and direct authority to do so. That's the same equivalence as us just declaring war. The only reason both sides have not just declared war on each other directly is it would give NATO the excuse to just lean the full weight of the United States against Russia.
