Fun fact - the sea lake at West Kirby is too shallow for the very deep centre board (actually an aluminium plate) of the Firefly. So, they sail with half plate down, which is why you can see them making quite a bit of leeway

That's not actually true - I sailed in a firefly at WK Marine Lake recently and had no issues with putting the whole centreboard down.
