I never got into the whole blacksmith bit of this game, so when my gun pretty much became pointless I was like, “What? A gun is a fucking gun, am I shooting varmint rounds or something?” Ironically Wild Dancer was my most used fighting stance considering how fluid everything is.
I will say it, Yakuza 6 onwards the series has been getting unfocused on both the story and gameplay fronts. They are still trying to find a new protagonist but can't so they bring Kiryu back into the story. Then they try to change the combat according to the new engine and rebalance damage. It creates a really weird scenario where grinding becomes mandatory, yet not very rewarding because the fights are lopsided one way or the other.

And considering the complicated story of Japanese gunpowder manufacturing especially during that period when imported gunpowder was miles better than the domestic one. It could be that those pistols wouldn’t do much damage in the fight itself since it wouldn’t penetrate that deep. I mean, I have no clue and made this on spot but it seems plausible
Yeah you’re right if someone gets shot by just a .22 it actually doesn’t do much at all. You need to step the caliber up to a .45 because it’s twice as big and is an explosive round
Errrr sir this is a cap and ball revolver they're made during the 1850s which fits the time frame as this game is set in 1860s. Cap and ball revolvers that size can kill and WILL kill due to the velocity from the use of black powder, which goes at 600 to 1200 miles per second or 965.606 to 1931.213 kilometers per second, which is a fucking big deal cuz a ball of lead about 2cm flying at you that fast will kill you. 🤓
