After a collapse of Gorgom which is the evil society threaten the world, Kotaro Minami was living a normal life. One day, the cloud of the Crisis Empire begun to gather over him suddenly. Kotaro was deprived the Kamen Rider's power by them and thrown into the space. However, he got the power of the Sun and this power made him KAMEN RIDER BLACK RX. He fights against the Crisis Empire with the ultimate weapon "Revolcane" !

Fun Fact: Kamen Rider Black RX is technically both Showa and Heisei Rider since the show aired from 1988-1989. It's also the first Rider series to have multiple forms, although Kuuga is the first Rider series to freely change forms at will.

pretty much, while Stronger is the 1st to have powerup form, RX is 1st that have multiple specialize form rather than just powerup... and all modern rider draw from both giving them multiple power up form and specialize form.

After learning about RX, don't get why Saban went with it for masked rider. Black wasn't an option? Made more sense to get 2 seasons worth of footage since kamen rider didn't come back until the 2000s. At least we got Dragon Knight.

I don't care if people say this is worse than Black, this is still a lot of fun.
Plus, I think it sets the perfect tone and growth of Kotaro. His life in Black was pretty crappy, but in this series it shows him having turned it around rather significantly.
He seems genuinely happy most of the series run, yet can get serious when it comes to the Crisis Empire. Plus, he found a steady job and even got himself a girlfriend.

Actually, ABC5 (TV5 now) showed Saban's "Masked Rider" (based on KR Black RX). But the original KR Black RX's story is much better.

Daí pode ser entendido que issamu desmaiou suspenso pelo espaço sideral mas eu sou da teses que ele morreu com a estaca perfurou seu corpo só que a energia do nosso Sol juntamente com a ondas magnéticas do cosmo então o fizeram ressuscitar e akem de tudo ele ganhou mais poder esse tornou novo mutante o KRB RX que caiu na Terra imerso num fogo solar de impacto igual a um meteorito

KR Black was part of my wonderful childhood, but RX was my formative rider. Fell in love with the simplistic design and that iconic collar.

The first Rider with more than one form. The very definition of cool.
I know they explained in this episode how they neutralized his powers so he cannot transform. But in my opinion the show should have at least let Kotaro transform and fight as Black. Then in the midst of the battle or when Black is supposed to be winning there came that neutralizing beam. And then came the rest. Oh, well. Nothing is gonna change. It's all been done.
I would've preferred him transforming to normal Black just one last time as well but oh well I guess bruh

I wish to see this part of Kotaro's story would be reinvented with the appropriate dark theme and be included in the upcoming Kamen Rider Black Sun
I used to watch this back in the 90s with the reruns here in the Philippines. I remember during Christmas my mother bought me a Kamen Rider action figure and I was so happy! Happiest Christmas as a child ever. I miss my mom since She passed away back in 2013 and its her bday today 😢

@Carlos dimitris Acho que a Hasbro não tem os direitos sobre as série. Quando o contrato sobre os direitos de RX, ZO e J expiraram quando Masked Rider ainda estava nas mãos da Disney. E por conta do veto da propria Ishinomori Productions, não foram renovados.

Ishimori Production isn't interested of doing another deal with Saban and Hasbro when it comes to Saban's Masked Rider series.

I did not see this series till 1994 and the opening is so mesmerizing with little or no glimpse of Black RX till later on.
This series meant something and was innovating. Though it never over achieved it’s predecessors.It’s good for what it is.
There was another Rider series in development(wish we knew what for 1989-1990. But the week ratings and over budget killed any chances for another Series.

Shin Kamen Rider had potential but was a snore fest. As a amateur writer, I could have made the movie much more exciting by adding more the one Villain Monster.

I have no complaints with uploading the first two episodes of a Kamen Rider series instead of every episode once a week. But, it's worth going back to memory lane.
As far my favorite episode of RX is the Shadow Moon episodes and at one point, Kotaro was turned into a man-pig.
The Hitomi Kidnapping arc is very good. Really drives how people close to Kotaro can easily lose in the crossfire.
