  • I'm testing out the K&F Concept Nano-X Series Black Mist 1/4 + ND2-400 Variable ND Filter this week. I want to see how well it performs for landscape photography, so I'm at Padley Gorge in the UK's Peak District, where I'm capturing long exposure waterfall shots.

Informative video Robert, some great captures with what looks like a particularly good piece of kit. The K&F gear is always well packaged and excellent quality and that was a very honest opinion. Keep up the excellent work not seen Otis lately.

Thanks John. Otis loves Padley Gorge, but I was by myself that morning and it's a bit of a handful doing the photography, making the video and also keeping an eye on him. He'll be back in the near future though. Many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. 😊

An interesting bit of kit and a great honest review as always Robert. Good to see the images through the entire range and being keen on design myself, loved the card insert that whilst not much use looks great !

Yeah, it's definitely niche in the context of landscapes - pretty useful for videographers though, I reckon. I think I could approximate the look in Lightroom, but it's fun to use the filter too. Thanks for watching Andrew, appreciate the support as always. 😊

Looks like another good bit of Kit from K&F and a lovely location to test it out in.

Yeah, quite niche I think, Lee, but good fun and an interesting effect. Thanks for watching mate. 😊

I wonder if I could make my own filters. No screw end on my little camera. Maybe something with tint film for cars? Not sure, but may give it a try as I would like to take some long exposures of my own. Rather like the look. Great work by the way!! Bruce and Otis

Not sure Bruce, but I definitely think you should give it a go and make a video of it - I think that would be really interesting. Thanks for watching. 😊

A good an honest review Robert. I do like the design of the filter with the little handle to spin it - better than accidently getting a fingerprint on the filter! The packaging and the pouch made it look like a premium product. I could do with a decent variable ND filter, this might do the job.
I had to laugh when I saw the toad, and wondered in Otis was with you. Our old dog had a thing for licking toads. We think he used to get a high off the toxins they secrete to ward of predators. He'd go mad for them, then spend the rest of the lying on his bed.

They do one that's just the variable ND without the diffusion part if you just need the ND side of things. That's pretty funny with your old dog - I think Otis would just try to play with it, but then accidentally eat it and probably end up at the vets feeling ill! That's more his style! 😂
