Thank you for making this video. I'm from Texas, born & raised. I moved to Tampa Florida & became incredibly homesick. I miss the people & Texas friendliness. The diversity, & the connection Texas folks have with each other. I loved how you ended "step out of fear & move into faith". Ps I'm moving back home on January 31. I can't wait

I live in Florida but I love Texas because of the things you mentioned. Very patriotic, they love the constitution and the bill of rights, I hear Texans are very friendly, and most have the fear of God in them. I think Texas is the Most free state in the nation and is truly the essence of this countries’ values.

Hi Shari, I moved from Michigan to Texas 40 yrs ago. My 97 year old Mother lives north of Sunfield in Lyons MI. I, as the wags say, got to Texas just as soon as I could. I am not a Michigan basher. When I vacation in Mich. I do get anxious to get back to Houston. Everyone in Mich. rural looks like me. The diversity in Houston is as rich as cream gravy and I find myself missing my diverse race friends. Also, if anyone wants to hang out with Christian folks of every race this is the place.. Take care and I hope that all is well with you and your family.

I to had the same thoughts about moving to Texas. I lived in Ohio, just about the same weather as you have in Michigan. Well I took the leap in faith , for I believe in Christ. God seen to it that all things come to pass. Here I am in Texas for 2 months now and loving it. Its truly a great state to live in. The state has so much to offer. There are so many jobs out this way. The icing on the cake Texas has no state tax. You having your own business you will fit right in. The people this way are so much more friendlier then the North. I'm thinking its because there is much more sun shine out this way. Good luck,God Bless you,,your family.

Wow - I just happened to ask this question of you tube and there you were- it is comforting to know that I am not the only one who had this desire- Our decision was a little more motivated. Like you we have lived in one place all of our lives.. Upstate NY that has weather very similar to Michigan except we get more snow and less sun. My husband has been wanting to move out west for years- but never was the right time and it never is unless you feel it!

My wife and I have wanted to move to Texas for several years, at the time I was living in a one horse town in TN and my now wife was living in the nearly bankrupt state of California. My wife moved out here to TN nearly 6 months ago to help with raising money for our texas move. Unfortunately, since this town is so small, my wife could get work and we were stuck at square one again. However, my in-laws decided it was time to leave California also, after they realized they would never get out from under their bills living in a state where they were charged extra money every tax season and the cost of living was eating up about 78% of their monthly income. They have now confirmed their move to San Antonio TX and my wife got offered a job over the phone for a position in San Antonio. Texas for our family has proven itself to be the only true land of opportunity left in this great country of ours, and we can wait to start our lives there.

Just curious, what part of TX did you move to? We're in between The Woodlands, Katy and Sugarland.

Shawn Bond Try going to these sites, they may help you: The Day Tripper tv.com, The Texas bucket list .com, or Expedition texas.com. each of these are also on CZcams. Each area of Texas is different. If you like to have some snow move to the Panhandle if you like the desert move to the El Paso area if you like more Spring weather move to the Dallas area if you like heat,go to Houston if you want something old San Antonio if you like the warm beaches Corpus Christi. If you like small quiet towns I would suggest East Texas. If you like a little bit of everything I suggest Waco or Austin. Just remember we love our state we love our values respect our flag we respect our values we respect God and Country. Good luck in your search.

Martha L Esparraguera I've grown up in the DFW my whole life, it is amazing. Head my advice, there are many small cities between Fort Worth and Dallas, those are the best. The Hurst, Euless, Bedford area is the best. AKA HEB. Dallas is great, but you may not want to live there. It's better to live in HEB because you can go to Dallas or Fort Worth for fun, or stay in HEB which still has many things to do. You will find yourself going between FortWorth and Dallas ALOT! It's why it's reffered to as DFW metroplex. It includes all the cities as one big city. I live in Bedford and it is the BEST!

I have never been so depressed. I gained a ton of weight. People in Oregon are dropping like fly's with suicide. Love can get you through alot though. Is he a keeper? Texas rocks. I used to live there. Took me all these years to realize all it's plus's. I am making plans to move back! Tell your hubby to OPEN HIS MIND and heart. Texas really does have everything. From Mountain's to the Ocean. From West like west side of the state to East like GREEN eastern part of the state. Maybe get him on a car vacation through the state. We are not proud of it but please consider that every state in the USA is harnessed to the same wagon. The churches are the best place to get to know and love folks from every racial group.

Texas is not a bad place to live, I've visited other states and spent periods of time in other states and I would say that the economy in Texas out weigh the economies of other states by far. Texas is a leader in transportation, producing energy, oil, medical jobs, research and the hospitality industry, not to mention tourism. The cost of living is cheap so you actually get what you pay for. Texas just like any other areas have its share of problems. The cities here are thriving especially Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth & Austin. Houston & Dallas also have its share of crime but the cities also have nicer suburbs, if you don't want to deal with traffic and diversity then Texas is not the place to be.

Why Austin? I would suggest you look around a lot. Austin will seem a lot like Southern California and it survives ONLY BECAUSE the rest of Texas sustains it. It is far different from California but that's not because of Austin, but in spite of it. If Austin were left to its own devices, it would be worse than SoCal. If you eventually go there, always be grateful that it offers you many opportunities because of the REST OF THE LONE STAR STATE.

Sound reasoning. But remember everyone You must adapt to Texas. Texas and Texans will not adapt to you.

I figured it would be like that. Im moving to Dallas in a few weeks. I grew up in Southern Cali and now live in Seattle. So moving from a state that is in direct competition with Texas as being the best state in the country (which can and has on several occasions caused conflict), and another city that is probably the most liberal and certainly the most hippie-ish; I knew I'd have to adjust to TX. I understand they are very stuck and stubborn in their ways of thinking. But I truly believe they do it for the betterment of most things. That's my outside view looking in. I'll see what it truly is of course when I move there.

It depends, Cliff. If some rude obnoxious Yankee goes to Texas, yes, they are in trouble if they don't drop their act. And many of them can't because the a.hole way they act is just normal to them.

I bought a one-way ticket from Mitchigan to Texas in 1998. Great can-do attitude, good weather, gggreat economy and cost of living-no state tax....nothing on Earth is perfect, if I could ask God to place a mountain range here, it would be Heaven...San Antonio is best of the 5 Texas cities to me....San Antone, Fort Worth, Dallas and then Houston...Austin? -meh-

Texas is so big, id like something warmer like Arizona and i want a low population and crime rate. Any suggestions ?

    • @patrickdehaan3670
      @patrickdehaan3670 Před 5 lety

Arizona isn't warm, it's HOT AS HECK. Texas is warm to hot in the summer everywhere, and cool to cold - subject to rapid, abrupt temperature changes - in many places in the winter.

No, Texas doesn't just want "Conservatives". We (I am a Texan) want people who are faithful to the values which have made Texas and the USA great. Respect for others' rights and good prudent exercise of the rights we hold sacred. Live and let live, and accept the collective decision of all Texas citizens. We want people who will passionately advocate for their own well being WITHOUT compulsion or force used to change what others do, others who might see things differently. Speak your mind and listen to others. Accept but never shame others who don't share your preferences, then abide by the rules we choose for each other as a group.
