- Happy Weekend!! In today’s vlog, the family and I went peach and plum picking (so much fun!), I relaxed my hair and shared an update along with a hair rant :( Got my nails done and Post Relaxer Wash Day was a breeze!!

I have been watching you over for 10 years and I am finally going back to relaxer because my natural hair is so thick but I chose to go back for me because it’s a lot to handle and I’m so blessed that you’re still on CZcams showing women that used to have relaxer hair such as myself on how to take care of it

I glad you said this, my stylist wanted me to go natural. I get a touch up like every 12-14 weeks. I just don’t see anything wrong with having a relaxer. I thought about going natural, but I’m not going to do it.

Most of us can relate to you when it comes to hairstylists not listening to their clients and making us feel bad for being 'too' specific on what we want. Hope you have a better experience on your next trim.

I have learned to do so many things myself just by watching your channel. I really just can't be bothered dealing with the attitude I sometimes get from hairdressers when I explain how my hair likes to be treated. Now that I self care, my hair is the longest and healthiest it has EVER been. Saving a pretty penny too.
This vlog was well put together loved the peach picking they looked like they tasted really good plus I love the outdoors. I felt you on the hair trimming at the salon and I agree more stylist need to listen to their clients on what they desire. I was really happy to see you with your family just enjoying time together. I like how you manage to create a vlog that included other things but still transitioned nicely in giving some hair care tips. Your hair is looking absolutely gorgeous. Hi Val. You are right, alot of hair stylist don't listen to what their clients want. They do what they want to do. I myself starting going to Great clips, and I have been happy with them trimming my hair because they listen.
I feel you about the trim, yesterday I had just over an inch taken off when I had no breakage just wanted a little dusting. So frustrating when they don not listen.

I love your videos. I feel you about going to the stylist. I have my daughter trim my hair. And I dust my ends myself. I don't like some of the ways they style hair, unsafe flat ironing and such. I do my own hair, so if I mess it up, it's on me.

Definitely down for a scalp oil challenge, I just got a new oil I would like to try for it. I really gotta get this bambu version, I always use the regular silicon mix but everyone's been talking about the bambu. It sucks when your stylist doesn't listen especially when you didn't need that much taken off. I just started going back to the salon (ulta actually) for my relaxer so I understand the importance of being heard but I really liked my stylist, she was very knowledgeable, I already booked my next relaxer with her. Great vlog 💜

So happy to see you Val ❤I'm down for the oil challenge; I'll start October 1st. I'm still trying to thicken my hair back up after the bad relaxer breakage/thinning. My hair is long but thin currently. Hopefully this challenge will help to thicken it back up. Shesh... always a journey, right?

Hello! This is my first time commenting. I’ve been relaxed probably for a year now before I was natural for 2 years. Being relaxed now seems a little different this time. I am currently growing out a short haircut. It just seems like I’m experiencing a lot of breakage and shedding and I need some help. You seem to be very knowledgeable on hair so any advice you can give would be great! I love your channel by the way! Be blessed!
1. How many times in a month should one protein treat your hair? Should protein be before or after relaxing?
2. Should one shampoo the hair after deep conditioning or just rinse with water
3. Should castor oil be combined with protein treatment or deep conditioning

Have you ever used the ORS creamy aloe shampoo on your relaxer day? I read that it is also a neutralizing shampoo as well. I noticed that you usually use the ORS regular neutralizing shampoo on your relaxed hair day though. Do you think they are about the same? I'm debating on the two whenever i relax my hair next time 🤔
Hey hun. I’ve never used the ORS Creamy aloe on relaxer day as a neutralizing shampoo. I have always viewed it as a clarifying shampoo, and only use it for that, although it does both.

I have some quick questions about my relaxed hair , so I just got my retouch relaxer yesterday after taking my knotless braids out and it doesn’t seem like my hair is growing , it just seems like it’s growing so slow and I’m confused on what I’m doing wrong ,can you pls give me some tips how to grow my hair more faster and thicker ? And also how many times do I need to do retouches ?
I go to my girl Tina at Supercuts haha. She is the only person I go to. If she’s on vaca, I wait until she comes back. She listens to me every time and will even show me how much she intends to cut off beforehand.

Nice video😊. I definitely feel your disappointment about that guy trimming too much. I've been there too many times🤦🏾♀. That's why I've never liked to have my ends trimmed, because most of the time it looked more like a little cut! My hairstylist is the same way with wanting to make my hair 'even', but I've explained to her many times that my hair naturally grows longer on one side, so if she tries to make it even with the shorter side, that's just more length I'm losing, unnecessarily! But I don't plan to have her trim my ends anymore, because we're just not on the same page.
