General Hodges has explained since May that the Russians would reach the "culmination point" by early September and Ukraine would begin their counteroffensive to regain lost territory. Consistent message.

When Ukraine survived the first week and reports of how badly prepared the Russians were to invade I was cautiously optimistic about Ukraine surviving and reclaiming a good part of it's territory.
Over six months later I am much more confident in Ukraine surviving but also retaking all it lost in the invasion and perhaps even take back Crimea.
Every tank the Russians lose, by abandonment or destruction, is a tank they cannot easily replace. Every plane taken out is one that is not easily replaced. Same with every ship, every anti-air system, every artillery piece, every missile system...
Every ammo dump lost or destroyed hinders them further. Every loss of a transport hub makes their horrible logistics worse and China's assistance has been mostly air.
Every battle lost, every push back, every civilian's glare, every death on their side tanks Russian morale further and further and *further*.
Meanwhile Ukraine is getting assistance by the EU, UK and USA with Poland being a major stand out. New equipment is coming in, everything Ukraine loses can be replaced.
Every man that dies or is wounded while mourned has two more ready to step into his place and take up arms. Every loss and tragedy makes them say 'I will permit no more' and every victory pushes them onwards.
When this war is over Russia will be remembered as a paper bear, a pretender at a world power. More and more their power is shown as false, a shadow of it's real, anemic self. Putin will be remember as a tyrant, a strongman of his people who did all he could to appear powerful and hide his weaknesses.
Meanwhile the Ukrainians will be remembered as defenders, as guardians of freedom. As plucky, never-say-die comrades in arms who in the early days scrounged up what they could and held the line until help could come. As warriors who took the fight to their enemy and forced them back. Liberators who saved their own people; rising up from their own troubles and the mires of their corruption and re-forged in the fires of war into a tempered blade.
And Zelensky will be remembered as a hero. The man who, when offered escape, dug in his heels, swallowed his fears and told those who offered 'I need ammunition, not a ride' and stayed at his post. He gave the people a figure to rally around, gave them a direction to their efforts and energies, gave them reassurance and pride. Hundreds of years from now he'll be remembered as the 'Man Who Saved Ukraine'.
Putin may well be remembered as the 'Man Who Destroyed Russia in the First Quarter of the 21st Century'.

What could be more imperialistic than invading Iraq based on fabricated evidence of WMD back in 2003?

So they seem to try and shout say "no" to all of the things which they do not have or will ever get.
How pathetic they do not see how they are being used and abused by NATO .. as pig in the middle. What you seem to understand is the Russians are the ones who saved the West in WW2 ..and the very fabric of Ukraine is RUSSIA.. You don't mention who has appointed the USA as being the self appointed leader of the world ? Think about how many conflicts they have started ?..and just left millions in disparity.
The military supply from the west is not free .. Ukraine will have to pay them ...
Wake Up ..smell the coffee ... and don't bite the hand which feeds you.

Honestly it’s not that crazy, if we only see facts for these days :
-Pushylin moved from Donetsk and some say he asked to be resigned
    -Kadyrov said he will quit
-Some politicians in Moscow and St Petersburg ask for a regime change and they criticize military operation
-Former Moscow rabbi ask all Jews to leave russia
If you add to this the fact that about 20k troops are blocked near Kherson and UA counter-offensive was a great success in Karkhiv region, what Putin can do ? General mobilisation ? Not sure russians will accept it
IDK
