General Hodges has explained since May that the Russians would reach the "culmination point" by early September and Ukraine would begin their counteroffensive to regain lost territory. Consistent message.
He was just saying what everyone already knew. Neither he nor anyone else had any clue the Russian lines would collapse so totally.
Yeah everybody was saving different things. He was one of the most accurate.
@@nikicajurcevic832 Correct. He's an experienced general. Amateurs study tactics. Actual generals study logistics. The logistics of the Russians was so obviously poor and ill considered, any move on Kupiansk would cut them off from re-supply from much of the eastern front.

Ben Hodges, a great Patriotic American Warrior
When did Hodges go wrong, earlier? The other commentators say he's been consistent.
@Station 857 So.. if the Ukrainians take down Russia, I guess that makes Ukraine the 2nd most powerful army on Earth?
Love hearing from General Hodges, he always has great insights and is calm and polite.
When Ukraine survived the first week and reports of how badly prepared the Russians were to invade I was cautiously optimistic about Ukraine surviving and reclaiming a good part of it's territory.
Over six months later I am much more confident in Ukraine surviving but also retaking all it lost in the invasion and perhaps even take back Crimea.
Every tank the Russians lose, by abandonment or destruction, is a tank they cannot easily replace. Every plane taken out is one that is not easily replaced. Same with every ship, every anti-air system, every artillery piece, every missile system...
Every ammo dump lost or destroyed hinders them further. Every loss of a transport hub makes their horrible logistics worse and China's assistance has been mostly air.
Every battle lost, every push back, every civilian's glare, every death on their side tanks Russian morale further and further and *further*.
Meanwhile Ukraine is getting assistance by the EU, UK and USA with Poland being a major stand out. New equipment is coming in, everything Ukraine loses can be replaced.
Every man that dies or is wounded while mourned has two more ready to step into his place and take up arms. Every loss and tragedy makes them say 'I will permit no more' and every victory pushes them onwards.
When this war is over Russia will be remembered as a paper bear, a pretender at a world power. More and more their power is shown as false, a shadow of it's real, anemic self. Putin will be remember as a tyrant, a strongman of his people who did all he could to appear powerful and hide his weaknesses.
Meanwhile the Ukrainians will be remembered as defenders, as guardians of freedom. As plucky, never-say-die comrades in arms who in the early days scrounged up what they could and held the line until help could come. As warriors who took the fight to their enemy and forced them back. Liberators who saved their own people; rising up from their own troubles and the mires of their corruption and re-forged in the fires of war into a tempered blade.
And Zelensky will be remembered as a hero. The man who, when offered escape, dug in his heels, swallowed his fears and told those who offered 'I need ammunition, not a ride' and stayed at his post. He gave the people a figure to rally around, gave them a direction to their efforts and energies, gave them reassurance and pride. Hundreds of years from now he'll be remembered as the 'Man Who Saved Ukraine'.
Putin may well be remembered as the 'Man Who Destroyed Russia in the First Quarter of the 21st Century'.
Bravo just read all of that your absalutely right Putin just wanted to win a bloody war ,a war that he could only claim was a war after he cowardly tried to sneak in .lives mean nothing to tyrant.

Putin avoids all rooms with windows now but this will not help him if he goes full mobilization, but he can't avoid it as his manpower is overstretched. 20k sitting ducks without a supply on the right side of the Dnjepr, 10k lost or deserted men in Charkow, Lost more hardware in 5 days than ever.
Full mobilization will generate lots of soldiers, but what armor will they get? T60 tanks, helmets made in 1945, and 35-year-old grenades with a tendency to explode prematurely.

They say NO to Russian war criminals. They say NO to Russian baby killers. Not only that, but they say NO to Russian Terrorist. They fight for their Independence. Furthermore, they fight for FREEDOM. They fight for their friends and family. They fight for everyone who enjoys Freedom. Huge Respect. Ukraine will win. Slava Ukraine.đđđđđđđđ»đ»
This was Russia, fighting the whole of the west. I hope the truth about why this war started comes out and the western leaders are treated accordingly. Unforgivable
Hey my friend it is the US which attempts to set up military bases all around the world and flex its strength in the faces of other countries - all on the unwitting American taxpayersâ dime, of course. What could be more imperialistic than invading Iraq based on fabricated evidence of WMD back in 2003?
I am on a paragliding holiday. We met a fellow paraglider, a Ukrainian. We invited him to join our club for lunch, treated him as an honour guest and I gave him the âSlava Ukraineââ€ïžđșđŠ
So they seem to try and shout say "no" to all of the things which they do not have or will ever get.
How pathetic they do not see how they are being used and abused by NATO .. as pig in the middle. What you seem to understand is the Russians are the ones who saved the West in WW2 ..and the very fabric of Ukraine is RUSSIA.. You don't mention who has appointed the USA as being the self appointed leader of the world ? Think about how many conflicts they have started ?..and just left millions in disparity.
The military supply from the west is not free .. Ukraine will have to pay them ...
Wake Up ..smell the coffee ... and don't bite the hand which feeds you.
22% of Ukraine belongs to Russia.
General Hodges is THE MAN for stating the Truth from Day ONE.
Kinda reminded me a bit of Operation Mincemeat from the UK in WW2.
Just read about it a few month ago and I'm shocked the ol' "Shout A but rush B instead" is still working so well.
Ben Hodges analysis of the war is fascinating to hear.
Funny Russian Bloggers were warning that Ukraine was deploying a large military group in Kharkiv area. No one paid attention.
Russian Generals don't want to listen to anyone
I wonder if Putin was micromanaging just like Adolf did.
Putin is supreme commander, he decides what truth is acceptable. Even Stalin stepped down and let the generals fight after Barbarossa butchered his plans...
@@buddyrojek9417 Too busy trying to figure out how to escape to their dachas on the Black Sea.
Excellent interview.
Insightful
Ben Hodges has consistently been accurate in his commentary. I greatly appreciate it. I am overjoyed for Ukraine in this military success.
Always a credible insightful viewpoint from gen Hodges!
Thousands of soldiers might return home in Russia with a pretty depressing narrative regarding the war. With all the abandoned equipment, I doubt Russia is in a position to just rotate and redeploy all of them. This will have a massive impact on national morale.
Soon it will be October. Perhaps history repeats itself. The October revolution was started by retreating Russian soldiers in WW I.
I pray so đšđŠđšđŠđđ
General Hodges has been very right and Correct
Honestly itâs not that crazy, if we only see facts for these days :
-Pushylin moved from Donetsk and some say he asked to be resigned
-Kadyrov said he will quit
-Some politicians in Moscow and St Petersburg ask for a regime change and they criticize military operation
-Former Moscow rabbi ask all Jews to leave russia
If you add to this the fact that about 20k troops are blocked near Kherson and UA counter-offensive was a great success in Karkhiv region, what Putin can do ? General mobilisation ? Not sure russians will accept itâŠIDK
Sorry for my English
Oh and I just see now they are new delays for the « referendums »
Good english - from an englishman.

"Former Moscow rabbi ask all Jews to leave russia " That means best brains will leave Russia.
Interesting the recently leaked (true or not IDK) Russian casualty figures which are >47,000. Thatâs dead, not injured or sent home which would be many times more.
I know Putin and his cronies are meant to have an iron grip on everything but the cracks are starting to show. How long do you follow a madman into doom, even if you are afraid of him?
General Hodges has been Spot on every Interview! I agree with him and Told my close friends two weeks after the War started in February this was the Beginning of the End of Pootin and the Russian Government as well! Its not gonna happen immediately but Pootin is on his way out!
This guy is seriously on the ball
