My best friend recently completed his journey around the circle of life. And we sang this when he lay in state.
The Moses Hogan Singers are perfect in helping all of us to look up and feel the presence of a Divine Being that loves and cares for us no matter what goes on in this world, because we are His children.
I'm a Sophomore in college at the moment. My high school choir teacher had lunch with Moses Hogan years ago, I forget why or how, but he did haha. Moses handed him this song, not being finished yet, just because he felt like it. Every year now, for the last song of the last choir performance of every school year, he chooses this to be the last song everyone sings. I was in choir in my hometown for seven years, and I never thought I'd miss it as I do now. Looking back now, a couple years later, this song will always be a staple of the overall feeling of developing so many friendships through a high school choir class. I will always remember it all flashing through my head while holding out "Well done", knowing that everything is about to change in life and that this chapter is over. Mr. Smith, you are the best teacher I have ever had, you've made so many relationships amongst your students and are the reason so many friendships have been made. God put you on this earth for that reason, I am 100% sure of it. Your students should savor the time they have in your classroom, even though they probably don't see it now. This peace is SO special to me, so many things have happened since then and it all seems so far away and this brings me back physically it feels like.
My chorale director passed away on the 16th from covid complications. We are preforming this Moses Hogan piece. I just want to send her off perfectly and beautifully

We sang this at the funeral of one of our former Pastors. Words just spot on for the occasion. Love the basses.
This moves me deeply. Learned this over 10 years ago in high school, beautiful.
Who "disliked" this?! We sang this on Sunday and as an alto, I wanted to hear it from the outside. Fabulous!
Our choir does this too, and as a Bass, I wanted to hear the ensemble.
UPDATE: 23 people have bad musical tastes.
