- In this video, I’m showing my now full Nifty case and doing a sound test of the Doepfer A-110-2 VCO. This is the most basic oscillator module from Doepfer; however, it sounds pretty bloody marvellous.

Great video! I am surprised at how much adding reverb and delay adds to the sound.
ye, it's a bit gnarly without some additional effects! Cheers!
hard sync and soft sync refers to carrier and modulator waves "locking" into each other (synchronizing) which results in a cleaner sound. pretty shure you will need to feed a gate signal into it. also to make exp or lin fm work you need to route in a modulator. lin will be more musical and exp will be more crazy. whatever you send into it will modulate the main osc freq
for the transposing issue, when you turn the tune knob all the way down you will notice its range is quite big so the transposing nearly becomes obsolete 😊
Thanks! This is why I post, I'm here to learn!
@@abominablemusic found this video cuz i was wondering why my squarewave doesnt make a sound xD so same here... modular is a beautiful world to explore ❤️
Great video. Guitar+synth, speaking my language. I just ordered this exact case minus the 2 modules. I ordered a few modules including that vco from Doepfer. I am new to eurorack. Not synths in general just modular in this way. Great inspiration sir.
To quote John McClane "welcome to the party pal!". I was using the nifty case tonight, that ability to just plug and play (literally) is fantastic. I think it takes some of the learning curve out of modular. You prob won't miss chipz and cellz...
I prefer the sound of this VCO compared to their standard one I have both . Think I’ll get rid of my standard and grab another basic .
Yea, I think they're a little off with their marketing, because 'basic' sounds less than good, but honestly, I think this is the best oscillator I own from multiple analogue synths. They should rename it 'classic' or something... I guess 'basic' as in module design...
Great video do you think buying the volca modular and then the niftybundle or first the niftybundle and then de volca modular? Keep up the good work
If you get the Nifty, you're sort of signing on to the 'long game'. It could take ages to get the modules together to make an 'instrument'. The volca modular is more immediate, you'd be making sounds almost straight away, esp. as its internally wired, so you don't even have to patch it. In the long run, the Nifty will give you the base to build something awesome. You can always get a volca modular if you see one cheap second hand. Just my thoughts. Supply may make the decision for you, I saw on Insta that Nifty bundle was out of stock, but check your local/national supplier...
hello, can I send you a photo of my eurorack chain, to ask you for advice? write me your email..many thanks!
