Actually what we call 'tweng' is an accent, which you learn in order to communicate well with the locals. Our African accents are heavy and you can fail to communicate or easily miscommunicate, if you don't try to prounce words as they do. The ability to 'tweng' and speak kawaida to fellow Kenyans and other Africans is code switching. If one grows here from childhood the accent becomes a part of them.
