Sadly it seems a lot of the actors from the original shows don’t want to come back - such as Joseph Morgan. They have an open door policy and even invited Paul Wesley back (Stefan) when he was directing an episode but he turned it down. Hopefully we do get some familiar faces eventually but it’s all up to the actors!

Prior to watching this show I was at a family gathering with some of my biological family (I went through foster care and was adopted but kept in touch with some of my biological family). My biological mother showed up completely unannounced. I was standing next to my aunt when I saw her and no joke said "Holy crap. It's Bio Mom" which is how I've always referred to her. I got out of there immediately so she doesn't know I ever saw her but it was still odd. When I saw this episode I laughed for probably five minutes straight because it was basically word for word my reaction to seeing my bio mom.

@Vampire Fan 17 No Caroline isn't Jo is. Jo's family did a spell and put the twins in Caroline to save them. Caroline is their birth mother but not related biologically.

Caroline was just a surrogate meaning she only carried them she was not part of the DNA creation when Jo's egg and Alaric's Sperm formed together to make them. Alaric and Caroline never had sex. It's like saying those that are surrogate mothers for those that can't have their own children created their DNA which isn't true. The baby is made by the parents then put in another woman to have it grow into a baby but it doesn't contain any of that woman's DNA to create features such as hair color. That part of the DNA is only created by the biological parents which are Alaric and Jo.

so jo was pregnant with the twins but then she was killed by kai, the gemini coven transferred the twins to caroline and she ended up giving birth to them and raising them so i do not agree with people calling caroline only a surrogate, when she’s their mother. period.

It's a small Lizzie thing to say but I live that she says bio mom. Shows that Ric and Caroline told them about her and they recognize her as a person that would have a connection with but never got to meet. Even though Caroline was the one who raised and she's their mom, in a different word Jp would have been a lot to them and I like that their parents recognized that and told them about her.

I actually always hated that about the show.....it's not like jo abandoned them....she died. Their mom died. She's not JUST their biological mom, she's their mom. Who carried them for a while, loved them. It was so wrong of ric and caroline to never mention jo, to not have a photograph of jo, by their cribs/beds . So that they'd always know jo was their mother.

the shown ended(one of the biggest reasons no the only one )because the actors that played the principal characters don't want to do it anymore(the show lost the initial meaning a lot of time ago ....of course they want to move on)the same with the originals ,the actors just don't want to do it anymore ,that is why elijah ,klaus,hayley,were kill,the same with Stefan,damon and elena(they stuck it with the after life thing so they dont could revive because is supposed to be that 60 years after,they find each other on the afterlife)that is the reason why bonnie don't stayed on mystic fall too (the actress dont want to do bonnie anymore) and if they make a spin off happening on mystic falls they have to find a way of explain why anybody is there,so no stefan is not coming back

Obviously what we see is different than what she as the character does. Jo died in the S6 finale of TVD which was only like 3 years ago. A far cry of 16 years for the character.

Honestly it’s kind of sad how the girls are technically Jo’s... she got killed and that’s why she didn’t get to keep them so it’s really unfair now that she’s alive they’re someone else’s because she was murdered...
I mean that happens in real life too. It does happen that a newborn loses on or both of its parents. If lucky, the baby is adopted and grows up calling another set of parents mom and/or dad. In that scenario its the same. The biological parents would've raised their child if they hadnt died. But that doesnt make the adoptive parents any less their parents. Its an unfortunate circumstance. BUt irl people also dont come back from the dead 16 years later so there's that. Jo would've been their mother. She is their biological mother. But due to circumstance, Caroline is the person that raised them and they grew to love as their mom. But that doesn't diminish Jo's memory.
P Crassen but she didn't lose them after giving birth...she died while pregnant. No emergency delivery. They were still in the womb. So just like irl Jo wouldn't have come back from the dead...irl they shouldn't be alive either.

And yeah in those circumstances that happened, the twins shouldn't be alive either. But TECHNICALLY it's possible to save a baby if the mother dies, but thats like very late in pregnancy I believe. Like a month or so to go. And it's not like it happens often. But way later in pregnancy than Jo was in, a baby can be saved if the mother dies.
But I do get what you mean.
@@svperboy7481 yup. Tbf if I can't have my own kids for one reason or another, I would still probably adopt, but I wouldn't treat an adopted kid any differently. Even if I'd adopt AND have a biological kid of my own. They are both my children. Both treated and raised and such and expected to treat eachother as siblings. Family isn't set by blood.
My best friend and his family is more my family than my blood ever was. And we only met as nearly adults, near the end of our teens. But that family low key "adopted" me as one of their own. Being a parent isn't about whose dna mixed with whose. But who raised the kid and showed them the love and nurturing they deserved. The people that make you feel safe and loved. Those are your family. Blood or not.
If Jo was around she would have been such a fantastic mother just like Caroline. But no one can beat Caroline I mean she practically gave birth to twins which weren’t biologically hers, and she could’ve just gave them away but she didn’t 🥺 she had so many plans to live her young life especially since she was only a teenager back then! And now look at her she’s a perfect mother ❤️👑

Fair enough, it’s good they got to say goodbye but they should’ve kept her if not brought her back at all. Alaric has suffered SO MUCH he didn’t deserve to watch his fiancé/wife die again.

I feel like I'm experiencing a bad acid trip every time I watch a clip from this show.
I know, it's so bad and the acting is terrible and they storyline is terrible and the line delivery is terrible. And this scene that is supposed to be so really emotional, Jo meeting her children and seeing Alaric again, and it just falls flat. It's a horrible show.

Also, if it was such a bad show, they wouldn't have Season 2 lined up for them. They wouldn't have such a great fan base. I get that you don't like it or even Cody doesn't like it, and "Legacies" may not be your cup of tea, but it doesn't mean it's a bad show. The story line is actually pretty interesting. They're not trying to be "The Originals" or "The Vampire Diaries". "Legacies" is trying to be its own show, and I think they're doing a good job at it. Each episode leaves a way to continue on at a different point in time. Season 2 or maybe even Season 3. Who knows? Just saying, if you don't like it, then don't watch it.

iLove PaulWesley it “falls flat” because the girls have absolutely no emotional connection to Jo, that’s literally the point. They’ve never met her, Jo’s never met them. Jo doesn’t even know they’re alive, the emotional scene happens later on when she has to die again. The acting is no worse than TVD and TO, and honestly the storyline is better than TVD’s pathetic repetition if villains and “turning off the humanity” storyline’s that became incredibly old and boring.
When I watched this with my mom and Lizzie said "It's bio mom." My mom was like what does bio mean. I looked at her with in confusion and said Biological mom. And she was like oh never would've thought of that. While I'm disappointed in my head

This wasn't actually the first time she saw the twins, at the end of The Vampire Diaries she watches as the twins run to their father when the school was first opening, so she did know that they survived somehow.

My theory is that she will find Valerie and sends her to the twins so they can figure out a way they don't have to merge...I mean, everyone says they don't have to since there is no coven anymore...but no one thinks about Valerie ...she IS a coven member...and is still alive, so her vampirism saved her from dying when everyone else died along with Kai ...
PLUS I don't think the merge is because of the coven itself it's maybe because of a curse or something that became a tradition over the centuries and eveyone thought no one could break it? I mean in which normal families there magically (pun intended xD) appears a pair of twins every generation?(it happens at times though I know) Maybe THAT was part of the curse...after all who would wanna see one of their children die...especially when it's basically killed by the twin? Right, no one...
Maybe Valerie was a twin herself (could be because we mever really saw her life before the heretics) at her time or her siblings had to merge and since she was a siphoner she had to go and couldn't help her siblings from merging....she loved Stefan as much as Caroline did, so she might consider helping his stepkids ....just a theory and MAYBE just maybe...at the end the only way for them to stay alive, is to become a vampire before their 22 birthday

Since we got closure from Hayley in "The Originals", it's unlikely. But as for Klaus, I think Joseph Morgan is taking time away to spend time with his family. Along with the fact that "The Necromancer" did say that Klaus is watching over Hope every day, and won't be at peace until she is. In that way, he's always around, but as for an actual appearance, I don't think it's likely. But "never say never."
