- Today we're looking at the first part of our VW California vs Grand California walkthrough. We're looking at all of the features of these two models so that you can see which you'd prefer to buy.
Do you prefer the larger living space in the California Ocean / Coast, or do you prefer the fixed living space in the Grand Cali? Do you like the head height in the Grand Cali over the T6.1 California? Let me know in the comments.

The Cali is is iconic once you cross to the grand you may as well look at other camper vans
Yes. I've just sold a van conversion very like the grand because it was great as a replacement studio flat but struggled on smaller roads. I'm going smaller and smellier (no shower!)

Hinksey I'd rather have the Ocean as it has a nice big area to relax in , a lot more space for 4 people to sit and relax
And the California, has lounge mode on the bench, you didn"t show. We always sleep upstairs in the Cali, and it is never cold. Nice and fresh, just use good sleepingbags when it's cold.

You mention the ocean roof bed takes 2 adults but the grand “over cab” bed is just for kids, given kids and adults come in all shapes and sizes is there a specific weight restriction for each?

Ciao Chris, avevo un California Ocean e sono passato al Grand California 600 da pochi giorni. Con il mio Ocean utilizzando frigo sempre acceso, 2 cellulari sotto carica la notte uso del tetto elettrico, carica di ipad ecc.. potevo stare fermo anche 6 giorni con un ottima autonomia delle batterie. Sono invece davvero incredulo, dispiaciuto e perplesso in quanto con il nuovo Grand California appena arrivato riesco a fare 1 solo giorno fermo con il solo uso del frigo impostato sul livello 1 (il più basso.....) e la ricarica di un cellulare. Il giorno seguente la batteria mi segnava già il 20% e 6 ore residue... come è possibile tutto ciò??? Pensavo di aver acquistato un camper e di essere andato a migliorare... invece.... Attendo una tua risposta grazie!
ciao, hai avuto modo di provare nuovamente il camper? come ti sei trovato? sto valutando di noleggiare il gran california per due settimane per lo spazio in più e il bagno ma se la batteria dura solo un giorno è da tenere in considerazione
