    Man you guys make this look so easy. I just installed a PDD pan off kit and it took me 2 days of work and 2 calls to PDD to figure it out. Thanks for the great help, the transmission feels buttery smooth now.

    It is not the flex plate in most cases its the stupid pilot hole being to freaken wide. I've had ordered 3 of them before I realized the issue I had one out .70"
    Not acceptable. Even with getting I ng then straight using 2 bolts at a time to get the converter centered. Not only that but the stamped sfi rated flex plates are not recessed at the bolts and the holes are far to big nothing is accurate with them, not even the centering tabs. I'd say don't waist your money on them.. if your gonna go cheap order another factory flex. Cut the center out and weld it to the ond bolted up and be happy with that.

  • @BentonL
    @BentonL Před 2 lety +1

    @21:50 I am assuming you cut the drum like that so the band can stop it better. Does PDD do that with the trans they sell? I am looking for an overbuilt trans to daily drive with a load in harsh city traffic aggressively, when needed and be reliable. Power level is roughly 850 to 900hp. 2wd drive unfortunately. Tired of replacing trans every 5 months.

    • @horsetorquesdiesel
      @horsetorquesdiesel  Před 2 lety

      We do not offer that on customers transmissions, it’s a Mod only Myer and I do at this time. It has a few purposes but that is one of them

      @@horsetorquesdiesel I ordered the 1000hp transmission at PDD with most of the extras. I work in stone, I am at ~8000 pounds as configured. My goal was to be overbuilt for the purpose of reliability. Did I accomplish it or not really?

    • @ryanbrown918
      @ryanbrown918 Před 2 lety +1

      Linear Solenoids in the 68 are literally designed to "slip" in to each gear, smoothing the shifts out. Raising the power only accelerates this, hard to get around with the way the trans wants to shift.
