They are all so talented and creative but Haruna, the drummer, really needs a shout out on this song. Other than the chorus, keeping that insane tempo and part together that accurately is not easy. As a percussionist\drummer for 40+ years it's so cool to see and hear.

Congratulations, and Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. You shall give the drummer, Haruna, some thoughts. She is the one keeping this insane pace. Her feet are constantly moving to beat on the bass drum, and her hands flying around on all the strange cymbals and things she have in her kit. Most drummers would be half dead after such a session, if they can do it at all. And she do this for en entire show, not just one song. She is rumored o be nuclear powered.
Yhis is a sub-genre of Metal: Thrash metal. You could hear another side of Lovebites, slower but more power metal: Chopin etude+ Swan song. Thanks.

Regarding Asami's voice, the closest precedent is the early powermetal singers like Bruce Dickinson and Rob Hallford. Metal was not always about growling and screaming.

Finally!! Absolutely amazing reaction video without unnecessary "big" emotions, without unnecessary "big" words. And without "theatrical luster". Thank you so much for this reaction video. I love all songs of this fantastic all-female metal band from Japan. This song is one of the best songs in the history of Heavy Metal. Great masterpiece! These women are so amazing and so talented women. This band is one of the best metal bands today. After the departure of bassist Miho in August 2021, the band had a break. Now this band is active again and is looking for a new bass player. I'm really looking forward to their new era.

All these songs are great, they have no bad, weak or meh songs, and no fillers at all. Every song is special, you could randomly select a song, best life, of course, and LOVEBITES won't disappoint you. They play many different Heavy Metal styles with a certain LOVEBITES sound, they revive the masters of the 80's (and 90's) in a fresh and modern way. LOVEBITES may have the most talented musicians around, all of them S tier. Drummer Haruna is relentless like a metronome, both Miho and Fami master their bass (for Fami's capabilities, you should visit "Alien Alien" from my list, it's in her CZcams channel will almost 700K subscribers), the dual guitars M&M (for Midori and Miyako) is most certainly the best duo for trading guitar solos and harmonizing, and Asami's voice is stellar with big range, powerful belt and good vibrato. She is also a trained ballerina with exceptional stage presence. One reactor caller her "Stage General", which is perfectly put. Hard, tight, fast, relentless, effortless and clean, that's LOVEBITES. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy your ride!
This younger so called metal bands needs to learn from these ladies. Plus during this performance, Miyako, right side guitarist, was 4 mo pregnant. 🤟How more of a bad ass can you be!🤟
