這一次的軒然大波，完全出乎於眾人意料。但詔令已下，楊堅只得輔佐才五歲的新帝即位，並身任太師監管。成為太上皇的宇文贇無人管束，越發荒淫，一日不慎，竟掉入酒缸淹死！見此情形，許多朝臣便知趣地勸說楊堅廢掉新帝，自立為帝。
曼陀見一番設計竟然完全沒有動搖到楊堅的勢力，心中本是沮喪之極，但李淵與楊勇玩耍時，卻無意間偷聽到了伽羅與楊堅的爭執：原來，伽羅聽到謠言，也疑心宇文贇是楊堅所殺。楊堅賭咒發誓和此事無關，伽羅雖嘴上且信但心中仍有懷疑，宇文贇的死去，讓她對宇文邕歉疚極深。
楊堅的屬下找到新帝的生母，恐嚇她儘早讓新帝早早退位。新太后心驚膽顫，便要兒子在朝會上宣佈禪位於太師楊堅。楊堅登基改國號為隋。
伽羅原本在府中等著丈夫下朝，沒想到朝會結束，丈夫卻成了皇帝。她對新帝如此匆忙地提出禪位心有懷疑，但值此大喜時刻，卻也不便提起。楊堅登基當日，立伽羅為後，並自皇后以下，不設嬪禦。
曼陀得知七妹竟然已經做了皇后，陷入了完全的的瘋狂中。於是，她趁帝位交接時期，利用徐才人對宮中密道的熟悉，絞殺了退位的廢帝，還逼其寫下了血書。楊堅和伽羅得知廢帝暴亡，均大驚失色。楊堅擔心伽羅再猜疑自己，不住解釋，反而讓伽羅疑心更重，加深了兩人裂痕。
伽羅親自主持廢帝喪禮，深感對不起宇文邕，在陵前向宇文邕承諾，必要將此事查個水落石出。曼陀此時趁機拿出血書，誣陷楊堅。但伽羅並沒有一味聽信姐姐讒言，只是將血書拿到楊堅面前，問他是否還記得曾經的誓言？他以天子之名發誓，宇文贇父子事，皆與自己無關，否則大隋江山定不過五十載，伽羅終於相信。
楊堅還向妻子許諾，十年之內，必結束亂世，自此以後，在夫婦的同心合力之下，隋國越發強盛，分裂了近300年的中國，終於得到了統一，長子楊勇更立為太子， “獨孤天下”的預言，正式得到實現。
喪期結束的曼陀想要重新掌握大權，便要伽羅再度將隴西軍政要務交給自己。但此時伽羅已查到廢帝之死與曼陀有莫大關係，而且她還發現，曼陀不停向兒子李淵灌輸各種狠毒和偏激的思想。為了把李淵這顆已經長歪的苗子扶正，她加封李淵為譙州刺史並將其接進宮撫養。曼陀失去了對兒子的掌控，對伽羅恨毒更深。但李淵卻在楊堅和伽羅的教導下逐漸成才。
李淵每次回府探望母親，言語中都不掩對於姨母的崇拜。曼陀因此更加憎恨。於是她在朝中散佈伽羅的流言。伽羅被言官們吵得心煩，便索性帶著孩子們去老家給獨孤信掃墓。
曼陀大喜過望，她故意安排一位一名與自己年輕時長相極為相似的美女尉遲氏隨李淵進宮。在迷香的影響下，酒醉的楊堅一時恍惚，竟然寵倖了尉遲氏。楊堅醒來後大驚失色，可見尉遲氏苦苦哀求，他心中不忍，扶起了尉遲氏。
伽羅得知了這件醜聞，驚怒的她力持鎮定，當即令人調查尉遲氏，查到了曼陀為此女安排的假身份：突厥人，且其父曾死于楊堅劍下。伽羅擔心此女入宮心有不軌，便急急趕回宮中審問尉遲氏。不料曼陀早有預料，伽羅一進宮門，曼陀便派人逼尉遲氏服下毒藥，然後讓侍女去找楊堅陷害伽羅，楊堅聽到伽羅欲殺尉遲氏的消息急急趕到。一進門正好看到尉遲氏口吐鮮血並叫 “求皇后饒命”，驚怒之下誤會伽羅並憤怒離宮，伽羅傷心吐血。片刻之後，她冷靜下來，勒令眾人不得上報楊堅自己的吐血之事，並召來了曼陀勒令其出家，不許她再進長安。
楊堅的屬下找到他，並呈上尉遲氏間諜身份的證據和伽羅吐血之事，楊堅後悔不已，馬上來到溫泉宮想接回伽羅，但伽羅傷心欲絕不願與他再見。楊堅無奈，彈了一夜琵琶致手指出血，終於感動了伽羅，兩人連夜回了宮。
第二天，不忍驚醒妻子的楊堅獨自上朝，並頒佈詔令太子監國，自己要陪伽羅笑遊山水。但楊麗華去喚醒母親的時候，卻發現伽羅已閉目而逝--原來，這十餘日生病，心如死灰的伽羅都遵守著當日發下的永不用藥的誓言，再加上昨夜連夜奔波，疲累不堪，油盡燈枯的她已突發心疾而亡。
楊堅興奮地奔回寢宮，當他帶著真心的愉悅，推開殿門時，一切嘎然而止。
多年以後，垂垂老矣的楊堅拒絕了臣下獻來的返老還童之藥，一個人閉鎖深宮。之後他消失于宮中。不久有人聲稱，在洛州城，看到了一對長相極象年輕的楊堅和伽羅的夫婦，一人彈琵琶賣唱，一人持劍而舞，觀者甚眾。楊麗華相信，那一定是服了返老還童仙藥的父親和母親。
十五年後，隋朝滅亡。李淵登基，是為高祖，改國號為唐。是年，李淵追封其母獨孤曼陀為元貞皇后。
一位史官在史書上依次寫下三位獨孤皇后名諱後，合上了卷宗。

Call me crazy but i liked Yuwen Hu the most. He is heartless but he will do anything for Dugu Bore and her maiden family. Yuwen Yong was good too...he sacrificed so much for jialou.

Yuwen Hu wasn't heartless. He loved Bore and their daughter. It was obvious that he would have cherished Li Hua if he had known about her existence earlier on, but he wasn't given a chance to be a good father because Yong killed him in a revenge attack. This story was all about family loyalty and the choice between love and power. Jeremy Tsui was definitely the best actor as Hu
For me it's not, he promise to bore that he will not touch any of her family, including yuwen yu and yuwen yong, but he almost killed yang jian,,, yang jian is husband of jailuo, he is part of family dugu

@@heartlesskitty4890 I guess they nixed her coz historically her role diminished when her parents founded Sui but she was still granted lands and prestigious titles. She must have remarried coz a tomb of her great granddaughter and granddaughter was found. I feel that the series ‘Queen Dugu’ does a better job of of portraying Li Hua as a complex character.
He technically lost everything cause he was greedy for power and had a superiority complex that suffocated everyone
Jiluao made huge sacrifices for her family safetym really love her and wish she spent a life with Prince Yong. Jian so dumb, he never appreciate the gift he had with Jilao . He suited 2nd sister as they both were always moaning and finding fault with Jilao. I feel sick at they way he treated Jilao, such a beautiful soul. She made the series worthwhile watching.
This is the series is where you realized not everything you watched is a fairytale. Everyone sacrificed their love it's either for power or filial piety. But no one gets the happy ending. Contentment is the key (lol). Anyways, this has me cried many times and in every aspect. Even those guys who loved the Dugu sisters, I kept on hoping that atleast one of them should keep their promise but ended up disappointed. Lol. Though Mantou deserved what she got. She didn't have the ending I hoped for but she was humiliated a number of times and everytime it satisfies me BIG TIME. The actress did a great job! I find myself giggling everytime she whine and pout (what's wrong with me?) It's hard for me to mention how good every character but I'll surely Mantou's mouth. 😅😂
Yuwen hu and dugu bore, yuwen yong and jialou i hope they end up together but historical movies so heartbreaking, i really adore yuwen hu and yuwen yong on how they loved dugu sisters u can barely find true love like they had.what a great movie very touching

Nah for me this drama is not the best ... I personally think this drama messed their characters. The first lead looks like not the first lead, second roles play too much. And the story is not that really good too... And there was no chemistry behind the first leads . It feels like not a happy ending either... But i respect your opinion, oh if you like chinese historical drama , you should try watching Yanxi Palace.

In the beginning, I was reluctant to watch this drama. Mainly because I was utterly heartbroken by the ending of "Queen Dugu". A year later and after coming to terms with Yang Jian's cheating and mistrust, I decided to give it a try and I'm happy to have done so. At least in this version, JiaLuo and Yang Jian reconciled with each other and LiHua fixed her relationship with JiaLuo before she passed away. Indeed, the queen died without regrets in this version. I loved it. Besides, this series made much more sense than cdrama "Queen Dugu" while keeping the storyline true to historical facts.
I have checked that many complain for not distinguishing main lead from second lead. But I believe that the three Dugu sisters were main leads in this drama. It makes sense that "the legend of Dugu" applied to the three of them. And so, it makes sense that Dugu Mantuo didn't die despite her misguided deeds. She wasn't truly evil, she was just trying to survive and live up to the expectations of her mother. In the end, her son truly made her a queen posthumously after founding the Tang Dynasty. Thanks to her descendants through the Li's, China reached one of its golden times. This brought the peace and stability the people were longing for.
No thanks to Mantuo. She didn't raise her son, he was raised by Jialuo and Yang Jian and thus learnt good morals. She just reaped the fruits of other people's work, just like she did throughout her life. Others worked hard for the Dugu name and reputation and she benefited from their hard work. Her father and then her sisters.

I really can’t understand people always claiming mantou “won” 🙄. No she definitely didn’t. She was a wicked parasite through and through who kept reaping where she didn’t sow. If we were to go by her actions, there’d have been no Tang Dynasty to begin with as she would have raised a hateful bad mannered child. The credit of the Tang Dynasty should belong to JIALOU & JANG.

She was by far the beat empress so exist. The Sui dynasty changed the moral of Dynasties to come after, because of her compassion, and their joined love, some emperors followed this couple's teachings, an emperor dont need concubines if the love is genuine. But I feel sad for the imperial scholar, the person with the blue eye, I literally rooted for him half way thought, he truly was genuine and only wanned the beat for everyone his love for the first sister was without a doubt praiseworthy, but again.. I always wanted third sister to win it all and she did, she died peacefully.
This is the best Chinese historical drama I ever watched. I've always cried in heartbreaking episodes, no dull moment from the beginning till ending though it's a sad ending but very satisfying to watched till the end. I love the strong women characters of dugu family. Looking forward to watch another historical series from dugu empire. Thank you for the sub I enjoyed it very much 😊
Most of the comments show a dislike of Jian. I have watched the whole series for several times, and personally think that his character is realistic. The main problem between Jian and Jialou during their ending years is miscommunication. Regarding the death of Yuwen Chan, he should have explained to Jialou and together found a solution, instead of allowing Zheng Rong to kill all other Yuwen relatives and lying to her. Jialou, on the other hand, eavesdrops Jian and Dong Qu's conversation, knows the truth and becomes cold towards Jian for so many years later. She should have confronted him, even though it might end up with a big fight, there would be chances to clarify, reconcile and understand each other better later on. Trust and understanding should be what husband and wife are for. The script is a bit messed up, I can't understand why Jian and Jialou stop sharing their feelings, which is not consistent with what they have been through over all those years.
I can understand how difficult and uncomfortable it is for Jian to suffer his own wife's indifference for a long time (a few years!), which should be viewed in the context of Chinese accient times when monogamy was really rare for Emperors. To err is human, he made a terrible mistake, although he was not 100% conscious. It is wrong that he cheated on Jialou, but it happened as a part of Mantou's agenda and he was drugged. He is not perfect (neither is Jialou), he utters thoughtless things. However, in the end, he realized his fault and kneeled down to apologize to Jialou. I believe he loves Jialou his whole life and until his last breath. He ages so fast within 2 years after Jialou's gone as a result of bitter loneliness. As for Jialou, she already confirms that she loves Jian no matter what. I think her sweet memories with Yong when they were young are not considered love, it's like what friends or brothers/sisters have. She feels guilty towards Yong, as she could not keep her promise of protecting Yong's descendants and relatives. To be fair, Yong's last wish is somewhat selfish and out of control for Jialou.
If only the ending were for Jian and Jialou to travel the world as he plans, that would be the best :)
Well you are correct but if u view it on historical aspects its difficult to keep the former emperor descendants as they might try to revolt once they get older. The same had happened during the reign of her sister elder dugu. To keep his throne and future secure he had to kill them so that evil ministers dont have any control over royal family members. As an emperor he took correct decision but as a husband and a friend of former emperor he is wrong. You know thats the position of THE EMPEROR. and dugu jialu just couldn't able to take it. I feel like both are correct in their own ways.

These Yuwen men or should I say these Dugu sisters had some real mojo. Its like any man who fell for them was trapped in their spell forever. Even the ever ruthless Yuwen Hu could not escape the thrall that was Dugu Banruo. A-Yong's crazy son even abdicated the throne for Lihua. I want whatever it is they fed them.
Oh I was impressed. I enjoy watching,, it was a touching drama. It a kind of reality...good job. Yuwen Hu act his part nicely..it suits on him...🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 but sadly..ending in his life.

Honestly in the end, Mantuo won the fight. Her son became the founder of Tang Dynasty, one of the greatest periods in ancient Chinese history. While her sisters were empresses while alive, their sons and family heritage wasn’t able to be passed on and long-lived unlike Mantuo’s legacy.
Yep that really irked me in the end but it actually made more sense to the Dugu Empire prophecy. JUST A SHAME IT HAD TO COME FROM HER LINE -_-
But Mantuo’s son was raised under his aunt( empress) He learnt to be a great king from his aunt not from his mom. 🤷

A legend is really a legend... Though Dugu Empire is formed, but everything lost: closed ones, Dugu family reputation, love from husband... What left at the end is only an empty title of Empress... She didn't even have anyone's arms to die peacefully as well... This is not what Jialuo deserve; she loved everyone but noone really loved her at the end of her life😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Maybe because no one really deserves her. It is unquestionable that Yang Jian loves her and she loves him too but that love changed her. Even if she is not happy, she still chose to support his desire to be an Emperor. She made him promise to let the descendants of Yuwen Yong live only to find out that he broke it. He chose to lie to her for the sake of reputation and to sustain his power being an emperor.
She sacrificed her whole being but was fooled several times. No one deserves her.
Finally! I finished this drama, action, love story tv series. Congratulations to all the stars, director and behind the scene staff. I miss Yong, I hope it’s him and Jialou in the end, anyway that’s the way the story goes... I also like the music, though I don’t understand , I feel very sad everytime they play it.
They truly loved each other from their heart despite all the challenges commes along with life after all they're humans mastakes and the wrong choices but love is the greatest ❤

For me i felt bad when Yuwen Hu was executed he died similarly like Alexander the Great with the same ambition. He would not go beyond his power if only if Dugu Bore married him. For Love conguers everything; that even a bad guy could turn to become a wise and good man.

This is the best historical drama so far that I've watched. There are many characters that are involved but the story went smoothly.
After yuwen hu died the series has been so boring. Jeremy Tsui played the role perfectly.

我觉得，宇文护做的事并不比杨坚做的事像虎狼。看这部剧的情节，我还是觉得如果般若跟宇文护一直在一起可能他们办事能办的不错，支持彼此，他们本人可能又幸福又稳定，还有很多的痛苦不会发生。
反正，宇文护是最有趣的角色，般若为第二，最无聊的是曼陀，所以这部剧的尾几集对我来说比较没意思。就当闷结论而已。

Yang jain was selfish after becoming emperor and was stupid through out the life jialuo died because he ingore and cheat her as results his swear come true he died as regretting old man and whereelse yuwen yong was really in true love with her till the last of his breath he always keep her first then becoming emperor

As for the Dugu sisters, both Dugu Banruo and Dugu Mantuo are in the same degree as of wanting power, authority, and wealth (for Mantuo), but both Dugu Banruo and Dugu Jialuo are the most graceful, wise, smart, calm (after Jialuo grew up older and after she got married to Yang Jian), and generous. Both Banruo and Jialuo are well-deserved to be empresses.

This version is different than what I saw back then, seems like they cut the best part that Jialou gave her blessing to the emperor. She let everything go and just want to meet with Bore and her father again in afterlife.
Yang Jian was always true to Jialuo.. until that witch Mantou tricked him with the incense... his mind was so drugged up, he didnt even know it was her and had to ask... she lied of course~ to get that dancing princess/slave to further trick him to take her as an unofficial concubine...

In the end this Yang Jian doesn't deserve the legend as emperor who stayed monogamous... It was Jialou who prevented him to have one... so he's another player... easily made promise.. easily broke it
One of the best historical drama i've ever watch. Everybody said yuwen hu & yuwen yong more loyal to their lovers, but actually they have mistress and childrens from the mistress. Yang jian made mistake but finally he had reconsile with his wife. Sadly to say but for mens love and sex doesn't have to go parallel.

其实女主是独孤般若，但是由于人设问题没有过审，所以才把女主改成独孤伽罗的，
I really hate tragic drama especially that my favorite protagonist Jialuo died also at the end of the story.
In the end all men let their other head take over logic. However I was in tears when Jian came looking for Jialou at the Dugu mansion to make amends, their love story was beautiful.
Mantuo actually won the battle.. her descendants reign the next Tang dynasty... so she's the one that made "Dugu Empire" come true... 😂😂

Wow! this is the best of all the Chinese drama I have watch so far considering myself a beginner (due to the covid-19) lock-in. It has everything combined like family life --- feeling of happiness and sadness, experiencing war,and turbulent times I must say all the actors and actresses play their part well.For Dugu Mantou she is the best.(not that easy to play the part she was given.)
Everyone did a good contribution in this history. Worth to watched. True love really exists... The prophecy never tells lies. Excellent .

I was quite curious if this drama has any real facts...And m too glad to know that this drama or can say some characters of this drama are damn true...I dont know if they showed us everything of history..But knowing that Dugu sisters are real and Jialou was one of the most famous woman of that time makes me happy..
🤧🤧🤧 Yuwen Yong, wish you were alive and protected jialuo longer and you were able to marry her. I love the way you loved her and tells her before you died that he married you and that you are his wife. Yang Jain is a fool and didn't value Jailuo, without her and Yuwen Yong he would have never been a king or a prime minister or whatever. I know that Jailuo too loved Yuwen Yong.
Amazing show was worth the rewatch🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 so happy I actually understand the history tidbits from watching other c dramas ( cao pi- the advisor’s alliance) , ( xuanwu gate incident- li shimin- empress of china). Its amazing to see the dots connect and to actually understand the history now! Chinese history is sooo interesting! Nvr thought mantuo was the grandmother of li shimin. Omgg! N this show was just too good! Had me crying alotttt. Yuwen Yong’s words really stood true. Also Jialou passing away how she did is exactly her character, quiet and without burdening others. She really made the show worth watching. Loved her character development too
好剧！看得很过瘾。演员找的不错，好久没在剧里看到过安以轩了，挺惊艳的。阿护死的时候，看起来还挺让人心痛的，演员演技精湛，导演用心了。
50集以后就明显感觉剧情匆匆，很多地方一句旁白就带过，交代不清或者干脆不交代（比如王女官结局，杨坚到最后都不知宇文阐是曼陀害死的）只是这最后一集真真是刷刷的飞快啊！最新款的动车🚄新干线都跑不过它!!! 呜呼哀哉～～～

bailey guan ： 估计是广电给的配额就那么几个小时，于是乎后面大刀阔斧的删了又删。前面不删或少删是为了保留精彩剧情吸引大众追剧。这套路太恶心了！又想起一部也是这样匆匆烂尾的：《楚乔传》。

What’s a beautiful drama, got to love all of the characters in the story. Every single one play a great part.
k first of all I really like this drama and I think its really underrated❤️... everything in the story was perfect and heart touching until the last few episodes... its a pity that Yang Jian changed after he became emperor(though its quite realistic). I think that is the reason that prevented this drama to become popular and become named a good or even in my opinion a high quality drama.😭😔😔 the last few episodes let down all the first batch of watchers that loved it until that point because everything was so realistic and developed therefore not spreading it around... if only they had a different ending this drama would (believe it or not) be at the top of my list and btw(I promise you im a c drama freak I will have watched every drama you ask me about) since it was so touching and every character was well developed.☹️☹️☹️
